A Snowy New Years

Today the try a new technique challenge revisits Black and White and all the shades of Grey as a color combo for the challenge this week, and the Clean and simple challenge would like to see Chilled Thank you cards.. so, Knowing that I had in my head I would do this glittery snowflake and it would be clean and simple hahaha... and the layers kept going. :) the lace is vintage, the two large snowflakes are both Sizzix Dies. the larger one is an Basic Grey snowflake # 3 the top layer is the BigZ snowflake #2. The sentiment is from the Tim Holtz great outdoors stamp set. This is 6" square in real life.

I think it turned out a little hard to see but, the larger snowflake is silver glimmer paper (thin) and the top smaller snowflake is white chunky glitter cardstock. that text printed paper is from the 2017 Tim Holtz pad.

So, trying again for clean and simple haha, I tried cutting the larger snowflake from a scrap of really thin sheet music that I backed with a diecut of chipboard and inked the edges with some vintage photo oxide ink. then added some of that Martha Stewart snow glitter to the edges. ( and its still falling off) so I decided even though the background and ribbon is all pretty much the same shade of kraft that it was not really all that "clean" in real life. that sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp 2016 winter card kit.
A closer look at the textures of the "snow"

Trying again for clean, I grabbed a smaller die and cut it twice once in the aqua texture shimmer paper and once in the white glitter card and layered them. used the same sentiment as above and thought OK you really did stop at clean this time. :)
oh, and the sun is shinning here with blue skies so, we do not really have the bitter cold thing that the east Coast has been getting the last few weeks yet, but Winter is still in the early stages.
Thanks for stopping by!
