Quilted Scraps

another quickie from scraps on the table when I was mostly done cleaning this evening... been on an Easter Tag jaunt, most of which have hit the mailbox without being photographed first... the sentiment and stitches are from the new Gina K set called Nana's Needlework. ( love this, love every stamp in the set which is a rare thing for me...) now if there were only more play time hours in the day. The cardbase is soft sky and measures 5" square. the tan textures from Bazzil the quilted looking pp is from Basic Grey the green pp with the stitches on it is unknown. the ric rac is paper. isn't that something? Paper Trey Ink ric rac die used on a piece of that textured burgundy from club scrap ( old caardvarks prize) I used this die on an cuttlebug machine, its a wee bit longer then the cut pad and i tried it several ways, catty corner ( it fits completely on the cut pad) and overhanging the edge a bit. It didn't seem to matter and it did not bend the die to have it over hang. the sentiment is up on pop dots and was die cut with the spellbinders tag 3. there is a bit of creamy brown fluid chalk in on the edges too. the blue jean type flower is from Making Memories and the silk flower inside it is unknown.

For Ken & Alice

Our good friends rescued an wolf pup a very long time ago and Jake lived for a very long time for such a large dog and this is something i put together for them yesterday afternoon. The wolf face is from PSX and is heat embossed with ranger super fine detail black on a scrap of some odd colored grey cardstock. the sentiments from the stampin up set fancy flexible phrases and stamped with versafine. the gunmetal brads are from recollections. Its matted with a couple layers of black mulberry paper and up on pop dots. the two smaller pieces of printed papers are from an die cuts with a view pad and the larger piece of pp is from pressed petals. the ribbons from May Arts. The letter charm is unknown. the card is 6" square in real life and has that dog heaven wordsworth sentiment on the inside.

for Jadyn

that teeny tiny silver heart has the words "made with love" impressed into the metal, its an jewelry isle finding... (thinking perhaps blue moon beads? something found it a Joanns a long time ago) its tied to an MM tiny tag with pink Karen Foster scrapers floss. the quilted looking heart under its from SU as is the larger heart on the other corner of the card. This was done for my Tween niece who J informed me would love a "twilight" card... when nothing i own could find anything that fit that theme he came up with she loves her computer, black and hearts... the printed paper is from Die Cuts with a View and feels like velvet, and i thought it looked like very old fashioned wall paper. the black loopy wired ribbon/trim is from May Arts. The laptop, mouse, happy birthday and :) are from the Gina K set tech talk. the name letters are from the MM magnetic alphabet set Rummage. the white mini heart brads are unknown. the red shimmer mat is from staples.

Hope is {Pink & Chocolate!}

forgot how much i like to do this until recently... It's kinda like all the butt ugly 80's clothes in the stores.. if you hang on to it long enough you'll do something with it again eventually... not that i have any 80's clothes in my closet *gasp!* embossing powder snicker...
( used to emboss everything) ;) ranger seafoam white on cheapie office supply vellum. This sets name is Hope Is and it was an Gina K promotional set that part of the proceeds benefit Haiti. the vellum is attached to the Over the Moon Press pp with micro brads from Recollections. this is matted with some SU Chocolate chip cs and the cardbase is an salmonish pink Bazzill. the ribbon is unknown. the whole things 6 1/2" X 5" in real life.

Asian Inspired

This was tossed together quickly this afternoon so i could get it out of my head... (not that it was a bad thing, just a thought about it long enough kind of a thing) the inspiration challenge at stamp TV this week is based on an (hmmm, maybe its name is lotus? shaped lamp) and so, thinking about it i knew i had nothing from Gina K stamps that felt Asian in a way that had to do with that lamp shape. this could have went other ways i suppose but, that is how it stuck for me, so this is an Magenta flower stamped with Versafine Spanish Moss on a beautiful handmade paper that came to me from Mom_On_Line (Thanks Yvonne!) had to giggle when i started to write who made the paper and it is written in some form of Asian script (that i cannot read) this paper is very delicate so the adhesive was applied to the textured bazzill cs mat under it, and fortunately it was thick enough to hide the adhesive. considered sewing it but that didn't fit the theme in my mind so.. the pale green pp is not marked, the silver rimmed tag, letter stickers and mini brad are unknown. as is the sheer white ribbon. this was harder then it looks, it could become an addictive thing to play in challenges on a regular basis. ( who knew?) the fun part is the cards are not the usual ( look like everything else you will find scrolling down here)

Everything Green

Its a funny thing when i first read do a green card for the color challenge at stamp tv, i thought oh how easy... HA! (green is my favorite color closely followed by pink) and the first few green cards i tried ended up with lots of other colors all over them... so, here it is, the neutral is black. this is 4 1/2" X 6" in real life. the sentiment's from hampton arts dollar bin and the stems are Unity's KOTM April 09. these were stamped with versafine Spanish Moss ink on Papertrey Ink's Spring Moss cardstock. There is a bit of lime green stickles on the leaves/petals/wings. this was die cut with an labels 8 die and is up on popdots. There is a bit of charcoal colorbox fluid chalk ink along the edges. the ribbon's creative (something i always forget this part) the button's vintage, the black fibers unknown. the green solid pp is from Basic Grey and the stripe was a RAK from Leibetty {Thanks Leigh Anne!!}

Comforting Quilts

added some flowersoft to the center of these prima flowers... Broke down and added the deckle ovals to my die's collection after seeing all the cool things Janice does with her's... this is an Wordsworth sentiment (by Rubber Soul) is what it says on the block. ( so this makes me wonder if rubber soul bought the rights to the wordsworth line?) who knows, not I... its stamped onto a sheet of basic grey pp, and layered to another piece of basic grey that reminds me of an quilt.. the lace is vintage and this is 4 1/2" X 6" in real life. figured i better start working on my sympathy stash now (it was something I did not take to the craft booth either and people commented on that, but i tend to make these as needed and never have one on hand, feels almost like tempting fate or something) from scraps around the table... the just because is an hampton arts dollar bin stamp that was die cut , the ( basic grey brown prints pp) primitive heart is from the Sizzix yellow sized die the blue mat under it was cut free hand with mini pinking shears, the flower shape is an nestibilities die and the button is an Quickutz die. the laces are vintage, the creamy carmel cardbase is 3 1/4" square in real life.

Spring Fever has Sprung

This is actually one stamp {Penny Black Labour of Love} that i came to me via wish rak from Stampermom23boys (Thanks Carrie!) I've cut it apart into 3 pieces... because, it looks like an newspaper comic type story to me like each image should be framed i guess from scene to scene. This card is 5X7 in real life, the pp is from Karen Foster and Creative Imaginations. the cardstock colors are Creamy Carmel, Soft Suede, & Cranberry Crisp, the textured cardbase is Bazzill. the green buttons are unknown, there is a bit of Tan Karen foster scrappers floss in them and the sentiments from A Muse Its been punched with an Word Window punchie. I know the bottom brown ribbon is May Arts but, i no longer remember the other two.

A Fathers Light

These guiding light stamps were done with Versafine Vintage Sepia on a sheet of Georgia Pacific #110 that has Peeled Paint distress foil transferred to it... It was colored slightly with prisma pencils. This was done for Lee's sketch challenge during the Gina K release party last night. the images are matted with a piece of tan textured bazzill and the hemp string is from Wal-Mart's bead isle. the edges have some colorbox creamy brown fluid chalk ink on them. the pale cream cs (unknown) was run through an seashell collage cuttlebug folder and cut in half this has some creamy brown and chestnut roan chalk inks on it. the printed paper is from Diane's Daughters and the Blue card base is also Bazzill and measures 5 1/2" x 6" in real life. thanks for this Challenge Lee.

another Labels card :)

I can't think of the last time a new stamp set caught my attention as much as these lovely labels have, I have been stamping them off and on all week (so have a little pile of them die cut on the table to play with) so, that being said i don't remember what color ink this one is stamped with, the sentiments from SU. the cards A-6 in real life, the ribbon ( I *think*) could be an M's Christmas one? ( not sure anymore had it a few months now) the paisley pp is from K & Co. the green textured Bazzill cs was cut with an Martha Stewart border punchie. the flowers say recollections on the wrapper and came to me from rubberlady603. :) used that bow easy again... still have to read the directions for it... may end up making a pile of "bows" to scatter on the table with the labels haha...

Happy Leaves Birthday Framed

hmmm versafine picks up the embossing powder quite well eh? so the goof to look intentional was added to the edges of the basic black mat... fun colors from American crafts. ZING embossing powders in "leaf" & "apricot". This card started out because, there is a color combo challenge in the stamp tv site for an "green" card. as you can see i am challenge, challenged .... so will have to try that one again later in the week i suppose. These stamps are from two Gina K sets, the frame and sentiment are from Inspiration Mosaic's and the Leaf is from Botanical Dreams. (figure since the sneak peeks for this months release look like debit card will weep posts i better get more ink on my new toys from February) :)
That button is from Making Memories, ribbons unknown, the thin green mat is colormates, the black's from SU, the textured brown and green are Bazzill. The edge of the brown was punched with that SU notebook paper punchie (that probably has a real name that escapes me) This ones 5" x 6 1/2" in real life.

3.15.2010

blue skies here...

Kinda funny, we have not had much of a winter here & we do need more precipitation...
but, I had stamped this Unity (hodge podge of happiness set) for some wish rak's recently and stamped one of this one as an extra for me to play with... its die cut with an Mega classic Oval Large die and the edges have some versa magic aspen mist on the edges. the ribbon wrapped around the die cuts SU mellow moss taffeta ribbon. the cheap blue cs was run through an European cuttlebug folder (rain/snow) and the pp is from the Basic Grey Obscure line. this is 4" X 6" in real life.

3.14.2010

I'm sure U think the same...

This brilliant idea came to me from several people and has evolved... the idea of pairing this image with the backstamp below it came to me from The Paper Bug (as did the kraftin' kimmie drucilla image) The idea of actually using those teeny tiny pearls came to me from an card i seen earlier today that Tamijo did with an lamp... she used one of those as the pull chain thing... the way i got them onto this card was by using an old straight pin and dunking that into liquid glue then dabbing the glue onto the pin heads in the image then using that straight pin to pick up the pearls off the sheet and transfer them... another person who helped make this card possible is Stamping in Kansas, she sent me some samples of Paper Trey Ink "Spring Rain" cardstock to see in person. via wish rak, ( Thanks Ladies!!) sentiments from "Limited Editions" this was die cut with an Spellbinders ribbon tag trio #2 die. the drucilla is die cut with an curvy rectangle and has a bit of versa magic aspen mist ink on the edges. this is 5 x 6 1/2" in real life, the ribbons are unknown, the pp is from Basic Grey wisteria collection. So, I'm right eh? everyone wishes they had one of these doll's for their own selves yes... :)

3.13.2010

Bean Thinkin

The Gina K "my cuppa Joe" image and sentiment were stamped with Memento rich cocoa on Neenah cardstock. the bag and beans were colored with copic markers and the beans also have a bit of diamond glaze on them for dimension & shine. this was die cut with the new spellbinders label 13 die. the embossed edges were inked with creamy brown fluid chalk ink from colorbox. the big brown brads are from Bo - Bunny press and the textured brown cardstock is from Bazzill. the swirly pp is from Paper Salon. the blue cs is unknown there is a bit of creamy brown on the distressed edges of this also. the ribbons from Martha Stewart. Basic Grey Celebration Challenge

Ah, No I'm not sending out a challenge, I made this card for this new basic grey paper addicts challenge... lol you can read about it here, you have until Monday PM to enter an "celebration" themed card using Basic Grey Papers. In my recent Gina K order i also picked up an "Bow Easy" I did watch the video on stamp tv before i ordered it and it only took two tries to get it into a bow... if you go through the loop the wrong way, you don't get a bow when you pull haha. This Lovely Labels image is stamped with Chestnut Roan Colorbox fluid chalk ink on speckletone "oatmeal" coverstock and colored slightly with copic markers and the center lines of the petals have a bit of Gellyroll stardust glaze pen on them. this was die cut with an labels 1 spellbinders die and the edges have some colorbox creamy brown fluid chalk ink on the embossed edges. This is up on pop-dots. This Mauve textured card base is 6 inches square in real life, the printed papers are from the basic grey 6" sized Eva collection pad, the brown cardstock is SU soft suede which had some pinking shears along the edges. the sheer burgundy ribbon just says 5/8" made in china on the plain white spool. Oh Baby!

Isn't this the cutest duckies?!?! :) these are from an new Gina K set called Oh Baby, and this is an wish rak image that came to me from JenMarie ( Thanks Jen!) these are colored with prisma pencils and sewn to a scrap of PTI ocean tides cardstock that also came to me via wish rak from Stamping in Kansas ( Thanks Kris!) this blue tag panel is up on slim popdots over the check pp. I added an Hero Arts sentiment to the bottom. along with some colorbox fluid chalk ink {creamy brown} along the edges. This is actually an "tag" shaped card, its 3 1/2" wide and 6" long. so the tag base is neenah classic cream and its lined inside with more of the K&Co. check pp. with an Neenah center ( to write or journal on) the yellow spiral paperclip is an RAK (but, I've had it for like 10 years so i no longer remember where i got it... yellow is not a color i use often so i have a small stash of these along with some orange ones in the baggie...) The ric rac is vintage wrights, the satin ribbon is an rak from an ebay seller, the sheer is unknown.

3.08.2010

Some things from Saturday

Received this printed paper as an RAK from c-mouse ( thanks Pansy!) the bamboo button is from an yard sale grab bag. its tied to the SU sheer real red ribbon with brown hemp string is from walmart. The Judi Kins kimono is stamped with Memento on Neenah colored with prisma pencils and cut out. the brown mat is SU soft suede. the cardbase is Bazzill and this one is 6 inches square in real life. Probably not the most traditional of mothers day cards... got this Northwoods stamp and when i had the card mostly done kept thinking just mothers as an thought in the back of my mind so added this SU sentiment to it. they are stamped with Versafine Vintage sepia on Neenah, horses are colored with prisma pencils. The printed paper is from Sweetwater. the dark brown and blue cardstocks are bazzill the ribbon is unknown. this ones also 6 inches square in real life.

cards of course...

a little something i put together thinking about Alice, she's had a rough week. course I'd bet she is just fine by the time i actually get this to her... the frame is from the new Gina K designs set called Lovely Labels its stamped in creamy brown fluid chalk ink and cut out with scissors. (before my brain said ya know these are supposed to fit the spellbinders labels dies...) so, the mellow moss was cut and embossed with the same size die and it gave it a "mat" much closer in size. so this silly goof looks good. the Mudpie munch is stamped with Memento into the opening of the frame and colored a bit with prisma pencils. this is up on popdots. the ribbons from the dollar tree store and looks quite a bit like the blush blossom cardstock (maybe a tad darker) but the ribbon is one sided and scratchy/stiff. the patchwork printed paper is from K & Co.the Lockhart sentiment is stamped with versafine vintage sepia ink. the cardbase is creamy carmel this ones 4 1/2" square in real life. another little scraps card. 3" square the metal rimmed tag is an old old left over scrap supply ( still have 1 million and 68 of these left to use up..) the su sentiment was borrowed and punched from an tin set Di has a long time ago... (don't remember its name) its up on pop dots. the ribbons from May arts and the pp is from Basic Grey.
