This is totally an Tuesday Afternoon shot, ( it was my birthday) and I had a small order arrive at work from Ellen Hutson. ( they had Christmas things on sale last week what's a collector to do eh?)
It would be rude to ignore them I know so, I do my part to stimulate the economy.
That's my story and I am sticking to it... The pile to the top right was prototypes of the what became the tags seen below. ( those are standard size 8 shipping tags that I removed the wire that came on them and stamped them and added just some chunky red hemp string. The tree image panels are a case of something I did a few years back that was kind minty greens I liked the color combo then so, dug the stamps out ( Concord & 9th) and stamped off a few in similar colors. that is far as I got with that.
These stamps are from two different sets, one is from Hero Arts called Holiday Label that I picked up last year with anticipation of this years booth and the Ellen Hutson set called Santa's flight.
So, there is a second post with all the birthday cards and gifts that have arrived. and I put them into their own post because, sometimes when I put those cards into say a RAK album at SCS people leave comments like they think that I made them so, I find it easier to group them all together when I blog that kind of a thing. It was billing day here for work so, it's been a long day and I will probably be making the rounds tomorrow. Hope you are all having a Happy Halloween if you celebrate that & enjoy your trick or treaters. Thanks for stopping by.

These are those Sizzix Card, tag die (that folds) these are just big enough to hold a gift card inside.

 This tag is Memory box.

This one the square tag is from PTI.

This is a very old Sizzix tag, super crescent size.

they fit inside an clear bag designed to hold an A2 sized card.

These are both Sizzix tags also (called tags 3)

The Merry and Peace are from PTI.

These gnomes are from Reverse Confetti's holiday Gnomes set.

I am making a dent in both the previously diecut and glued together double sided tags, Sentiments, and piles of textiles... ( all of these are headed to the booth next month)

Inspired by {studioE fabrics}

This week Brenda has chosen the StudioE fabric's site for the inspiration destination and I landed on this Garnet piece because, I knew I had this new cranberry powder to play with.
This is a really old Stampin' Up Stamp from their set called "joy" believe it or not, and my dad's mama's nick name was Joy so, I have a collection of stamps that say that on them. I think of her every time I use any of them and so, I had the idea this one would look super in the cranberry color.
I did color the spots that were not heat embossed with markers. the yellow is not so bright in real life but, reds are a funny thing to photograph so, getting the burgundy adjusted to the right color on my monitor threw the gold off to yellow. such is life. I was trying for a rich hmmm what's the word oh jewel tones type of a look. the green frame was cut from some Carta bella paper (this year) and I "think" that burgundy may be Basic Grey. ( I lose track) the brighter green was a scrap but, some other Christmas paper scrap from a few years ago. The base on this card is that new SU seafoam.

A closer look at the stamping, I did cut this wish scissors.

and a Peek at the fabric, you can see that here in their store. You can find this challenge in the Inspiration thread here at SCS to play along with us. Thanks for stopping by.

WOYWW #490 {Christmas & Shopping}

So, this was these cards drip drying on Tuesday after work. I had picked up a package of these smaller ( 4 3/4") "kraft" cardbases with envelopes at Hobby Lobby a while back to try them, they are really not a sturdy enough piece to be a cardbase but, the color reminds me of the "recollections" kraft from Micheals and they both have that rough paper grocery shopping bag feel and are very porous and flimsy for a base. that being said, I do like the color and decided to mess around making some snow scenes. The trees here were heat embossed with some Sage ranger powder and the deer is an Impression Obsession die (the set with three in it) I did the deer on Neenah desert storm (twice) and stacked and inked it with some vintage photo oxide ink.

Sometime after last wednesday I had put in an order in at Frantic Stamper because, she had sent out a tease that there were new Katzelkraft stamps in the store, I think all the ones I picked up are older ones but, that's OK I think they all have fun face expressions. and pair well with funny sentiments.
I find it easier to use some of the very sarcastic ones with animals rather than people images.
.
Last week when I was out of town for work made a pit stop at a craft store and these dies followed me home. the moose and tree is a bunch of teeny dies. ( not solid pieces so, you have to paper piece it) I have not cut either of the TH dies, just the hero arts one, and that particular one I did not cut the snowflake piece from the tag and I used the one I had cut apart months ago with the deer rubbing noses on it for a backing.

This is how the first card finished out. the sentiment is from Concord & 9th heat embossed with some SU pewter powder. I did line the insides of these with Neenah solar white 110# to give them some stability.

And I decided it needed more color this design so, I stuck in a Memory Box cardinal diecut done on some red shimmer and used a Hero Arts sentiment cut with a MFT slanted sentiment die on this one.
The snow on both of these is a combination of snowtex and a white gel pen. There are about 22 more creating days between now and the booth and really I am in good shape. ( I tell my self that all the time) but, I continue to create things up to the last minute anyways. (every year)
oh, and its not the fact that it's a christian school where this happens, its in their contract for vendors not to have alcohol, sexy things, hmmm, profane things trying to remember the verbiage. but, the gist of it is no "adult" things. So, that is why the "wine" gift tags may not be very well received. I am not that much of a rule breaker as far as things like that go. I have gotten away with sarcastic things but, all the ones I do are more along the lines of what you see from say a Dylusions set rather than just off colored words. Anyways, thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Cards

Sabrina has a challenge this week to do a simple framing with either the center counter sunk or popped up above the frame. ( so, its a seamless look with dimension) And I had these gnomes out to color and did a couple and thought that would be a easy thing to do. I did cut the gnome (Reverse Confetti) out with scissors and because of that I did whack off the star in the curl of the hat, On purpose with the thought that I could always do one on the base and paper piece it back in, that is the way I roll for little bitty things like that. So that is how it is on the one is stamped direct to the tag and paper pieced onto that so, the star is counter sunk from the rest of him) On this card which is 4 3/4" square the frame was cut with a Simon Says Stamp stitched square die, the top speech bubble die is from paper smooches and that sentiment comes in the RC set, the bottom sentiment is from the Hero Arts offbeat holiday messages set and the one off to the left is from the SU tags till Christmas set and it was glued inside after this was shot. its hard to see but, there is a little bit of glitter gel pen on his clothes were the starts are.
 and a tag.

This was just I had this cardbase laying around that had been run through a sizzix Basic Grey folder and I have piles of tags sitting here and thought well why not, I like this quirky tree's in this print.

What ever day I was doing the quilt cards these got finished the day after that and so, I just never got around to posting them. the sentiment is from Penny Black and the quilt is from My Favorite Things.

This one the Noel die is from Echo Park. and all of these are in the suitcase headed to the booth. Thanks for stopping by.

So, I should mention that some of these were made months ago.
About the only ones made in the last week are the Christmas ones where there is more than one tag in the shot and the stockings. (one of the stockings is double sided and a gift card holder the others are flat tags)

This house shape is a Hero Arts die.

June gifted me with these mid sized Bird Crazy stamps last year and I had played with one when this house die came out (months ago) I think that sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

The hedgehog is from Penny Black, I have forgotten the sentiment.

I just liked this pretty paper and wanted to let it be the focal.

These are all bitty Hero Arts stamps from different scene building sets.

The  From me to you sentiment on this one is from Concord & 9th. the tag shape is from Taylored Expressions. The other sentiment is from A Muse.

This stocking is a gift card holder ( its the SU sizzix one from a few years ago) the snowflakes are from Lawn Fawn.

The Ho HO HO here is from Impression Obsession.

The Merry Christmas is from Clearly Besotted, the holly is a really thick hard sticker.

The deer is a Penny Black die the sentiment is from Tim Holtz.

The tree/bird are an Impression Obsession die, the sentiment is from ( I think Unity Stamps) the Santa & sentiment on the white panel are from A Muse studio. the ho ho ho is from Impression Obsession,
