vintage floral sympathy

the other day June was going through the sympathy cards stash ( which is always one or two cards) I tend to make them as needed and then when I got home i found that since I don't actually need one at the moment it was easy to do. ( outlines sentiment ) the buttons unknown. This is 5X7 in real life, base is Not Quite Navy. graphic45 pp, picked this scrap because it reminds me of vintage fabric which then makes me think the quilts give comfort theory...

VSN (from last night)

One of the challenges for VSN this weekend is to use sequins ( rodeo theme... all that glitters is not gold its sequined lol) so anyways, on thursday night I had colored this I break for stamps mermaid and my mind said oh maybe you can cover the tail with some... knew i had vintage sequins (yard sale find years ago) knew i had never used them... they turned out to be much bigger then the scales on her tail though so just dropped them below for lumps and bumps, the bigger floral shaped ones are hand sewn to the cardstock then they looked a little neeekid so dumped some glass seed beads on to the centers of the sequins with diamond glaze, then decided it needed more beads ( which at after 7 pm and still 91 degrees this dries waaay faster then it would have in a winter vsn) She's colored with copics and outlined with an gellyroll stardust pen and maybe some copic spica ( my pale green in that does not seem to have as much ink/mica in it as the other colors i have dont know if its a dud or if its just that shade, but there is a bit of that on there too) cut out the tips of her tail and pulled them up trying to make room for the sentiment panel to fit. this is 5X7 in real life. probably should have quit there... but oh no seen there was a brayer challenge... ( and yes, I AM brayer challenged...) everything looks like a muddy mess usually, tossed 3 pieces of cardstock in bin before almost got some colors on this one, ( have to throw it away this morning) gonna skip yard sales this weekend and try to get some stuff cleaned up and put away around here. wash laundry, think about the other vsn challenges... you know good stuff. probably gonna try this again with distress inks, the challenge says you MAY use sponges or brushes but... gonna try it some more with the brayer. and this uses a ton of baby wipes cleaning that thing off inbetween color changes and such.

Cracked Glass Butterfly

Paper Inspirations Butterfly dance, colored with copics covered with diamond glaze and a bit of ultra fine glitter. (the cracking does not show up as well as I would have liked but, if you look close at the gals nose you'll see a crack cross it. there is a bit of old paper distress ink on the torn white edges of this card too. These were done just using up scraps on the table. the sheer ribbons from May Arts, pp is from Basic Grey, Sentiments from SU done in versamagic pumpkin spice, the copper cord is also from su, it's A-6 in real life. These are 3" square

Entertaining George

If i remember right this Elzbells name is george... and its colored with copics. those are Dritz clothing grommets (3/16) in the holes with bits of olive netting tied through them. It's 5X7 over all in real life, the sentiments from limited editions, the silver texture cs is from provocraft, the green pp is from the victoria gardens Echo park pad.

Moonlit Fairy

Just a simple one, this one uses an RAK image from leibetty { Thanks Leigh Anne!} she had stamped him with ancient page pine ink and I added some copic markers to it and then just die cut it really quick, the sheer ribbon is unknown. the Enjoy is from the SU set your a gem that was punched with an MS tag and tied on with some MME lime twist twine. ( say that one out loud really fast 3 times) the card base is some textured Provocraft paper and I lined the inside with some Neenah to give it a little more structure because, its more like really thick paper then an actual cardstock.

CPS Sketch Cards #228

All the stamps in this post came from the new A Muse studio catalog ( except that skinny oval thats grass in this one) ( I think its in the book but, its probably part of a set now) sewed that ruffled sheer May Arts ribbon to help it look like "water" and these were done for the CPS blog challenge that's being sponsored by tamijo {Tami Grandi} for A Muse studio. This ones A-6 in real life. the printed papers are the reverse sides of the same sheet. (have to look it up who makes it) forgot already. This ones from the Dr.'s orders set ( which makes me grin every time I see it ) and uses mostly A Muse products the white panel that's stamped on is the back side of the cut orange sheet as their papers are color on one side and white on the other so these colors are from the fall asst pack of papers. the buttons are also from A Muse and the string is May Arts burlap. The pill bottle is paper pieced and up on pop dots for some dimension. This ones a little smaller and A-2 in real life. This was an really easy sketch to work with that has a free give away if you enter.

Brighter Day

This Belly Dancer is from Viva Las Vegas Stamps, she done with Memento on Neenah and colored with copic's outlined with an gellyroll stardust pen and some mica chip copic pens ( name escapes me) skinny little things. Stampin Up sentiment ( came with that set of little girls a long time ago the rubbers pale blue) lots of Spellbinders dies and lime green stickles. the darker green mats are shimmery DCWV. the base is Bazzill. and my mind is blank on that pp. I know its one of those lines i dont buy often because it always looks too "modern and trendy" to me but, I remember buying the pad because the flowers looked like that Manhattan su set... (maybe) but, its one of those things i tore apart and sorted by color. its very shimmery in real life. those are the clues... That big bling brad is from recollections and this one is 6" square in real life.

these blingy prima flowers came to me in one of the exchanges from basketbrains ( Thanks Stuffy!) Ive clipped the edges of the top one with pinking sheers to get that layered skirt effect of the colors. the wings on this one has some of that mica copic pen scratched into it over the regular copic ink. she's also outlined with an gelly roll glaze stardust pen. This is an wish rak image that came to me recently from superjen { Thanks Jen!} I'm pretty sure she is an sweetpea image but, I do not know her name, the sentiments from Hero Arts on some old old old Basic Grey pp. the pearl brad is from recollections. this ones 4 1/2" x 6" in real life.

This one is 6" square in real life, the image panel (Neenah solar white colored with copics) is up on pop dots as is the sentiment. spellbinders dies, May Arts ribbons (frayed the ends on purpose) and cord. the pearl on the sentiments an Martha Stewart one. the panel under the image has alcohol inks on it, the handmade paper layer under that is unknown.
