Trying too hard

Some (mostly simple) ones from sunday ( a week ago) this one above started as a sheet of elegant bouquet embossed cs that came to me from Catcrazy ( Thanks Janice!) added some pink stickles for the heck of it, then thought ok punch a window hole... check find a circle sentiment, ah too small... ok lets not toss it... punched the loopy border edge along the pink top and though hmmmm got this tim holtz swirly die recently and cut a scrap of that and though maybe.. not sure i like this at all but, its not a total waste either... This yellow su ribbon came to me via wish rak from renski in the spring/summer exchange box ( this is the card base i thought i was gonna get that stipple gardenia on to lol) so added this tiny sentiment ( that was originally done to go on the other card) and though stop... its "ok" or rather ha good enough....

Winged Cherish

for a flat card this one has a lot of textures going on... that felt button was a recent etsy find (very cool and & great service from frog feathers store) the butterfly die cut came to me via wish rak from Kerzedame ( Thanks Erica!) ran it through an swiss dots cuttlebug folder and inked it up with some Ranger Nick Bantock Inks (Van Dyke Brown, Cerulean Azure & Chartuse Leaf. The sinamay styled ribbon ( much softer actually ) is an recent May Arts find. The bright blue lace is vintage. Hero Arts tiny cherish done in versafine vintage sepia on a bright green scrap that had been inked over with some ranger Nick Bantock Cerulean Azure & Van Dyke Brown inks, then die cut with an labels trio spellbinders die. was trying to coordinate with the Pink Paislee bayberry cottage pp that i had stamped the Impress Open Poppy on. ( van dyke brown) The textured cardbase is Bazzill and this ones 6" square in real life.

Whooville Hellloooo

Got this Tim Holtz tree embossing folder last week in Medford and had a chance to run it through the bug the other day. added an Unity owls ( Lollipop tree you and me set) and an Hero Arts sentiment. meant to color the eyes on the birds but, never got around to it. May do it later. they are stamped on some speckletone Oatmeal cover sheet and trimmed along the edges with deckle scissors. there is some Vintage Photo distress ink on this and its colored with Prisma Pencils. the whole thing is A-2 in real life. thats some kind of premade textured cardstock cardbase. ( came in a pack from bimart years ago i think) The sentiment was punched with the tiny SU tag punch and its tied on with Karen Foster scrappers floss.

Happy Mail & Yummy Distress Colors

This is the reveal card from Renski ~ Angie :) for the wish rak Spring / Summer exchange. Cool-ioo Loot!! :) those bombshell chicks are gonna make hysterical cards i just know it. so i started out thinking lets make Angie an Thank-You card and i started playing with that wide wide yellow ribbon. ( I dont have anything like it and its a dream to touch) so, i had this card front about half done with the ribbon on it and decided i needed an "image" to go on the topmost panel and then i stamped this Stipple Gardenia on some Neenah Classic Cream and colordusted over it with Newer colors of Distress ink, layered it to an Petite ovals die cut and haha it did not fit onto the card i have started. ( scale was Waaay off...) so the card took an new turn and didnt actually use anything from the loot pile but soon, hopefully today soon. :) Stampin Up Stipple Gardenia in Versafine Vintage Sepia ink with Bundled Sage, Vintage Photo, Forest Moss, Wild Honey, & Stormy Sky Distress ink and an white gel pen. Sentiment's from SU too. ( but, it was pre- write on the wood block the set name set so...) your guess is as good as mine as to which one it came out of. perhaps someday i will get all the wood wrote on but, its more fun to just make cards. This is 6" Square in real life, the Sentiment is stamped on an scrap of PTI vintage cream and color dusted with some forest moss and vintage photo distress. its Die cut with an Spellbinders fancy tags die and up on popdots. the Textured yellow cs is from Bazzill a scrap of it was run twice through an Tim Holtz Sizzix on the edge Bracket border die and sewn to a panel of Basic Grey PP. the second layers from the same pad of it. The Black Linen texture base is Neenah Papers as is the White liner.

Designs "Gone Fishing" set, the birch tree on the right is from PSX, the grass on the bottom is from Impress, the Sunset is from CI Stamping, the Shimmering is from Stampscapes. Used Versafine Vintage Sepia to stamp it all on Neenah Classic Cream. the coloring inks are Ranger Distress Mustard Seed, Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade, tumbled glass, dried marigold, broken china, forest moss, faded jeans. the man & boy were colored with prisma pencils. The mat & cardbase are bazzill and its A-6 in real life.

Simply Bloomin

Got totally lucky... Nah not that ... this Stamp *grin* Melissa decided to part with it and asked me if I was interested... PSX Orchid So, this is stamped with Versafine on a piece of Couture card stock's "detail blending paper" (made for copics) not bad, not bad at all... a little thin feeling. but i dumped a lot more ink on this paper then i normally do and you can barely see the bleed through on it so its not a sponge paper at all. :) This was also done for Tamijo's birthday bash challenges so it uses SCS sketch # SC189 & Color Combo # CC257 ( and it's still not perfect) the color combo is supposed to be Chocolate Chip,(check) Dusty Durango (check its the dirty orange ish color) and sage shadow... (beep) who knew there is a green i never bought, lol so the green mat is Mint Melody. (not sure if its a close substitute or not but that's how i rolled with this one) It's 4 1/2 X 6 in real life.
Won this puppy PSX Morning Glory Stamp on the 'bay recently... for less then it normally goes for *smirk* stamped with versafine on that blending paper. colored with copics. then trimmed crooked... so this is my thought for the day is that is why the first cards were ever distressed... to hide the boo-boos... (sentiments at an off angle was more worried about cutting rectangle size then watching the image while i whacked the first side) So this ones mats are certainly celery and chocolate chip. the base is Bazzill and its 6" square in real life. this PSX Magnolia was stamped with Memento sand on Neenah classic cream and the boo boo happened right off the bat, got the pressure foot caught a bit on the lump that ribbon made through the layers and so for a bit i was sewing with the foot in the air, so of course the first line of stitches went way off at an angle so zipped around the edges a few more times all over the place to distract from that. Basic Grey PP, unknown brads, the light green mat is certainly celery, the darker is fresh asparagus. the cardbase is Bazzill. and this ones 5 1/2" X 6 in real life.

Happy Mail Catch Up

This cutie came to me from JenMarie *Ü* Filled with this gorgeous lace (that was used on the reveal card previously posted) (this was shot after that one) :) Thanks Jen!! This i did with a piece of 80# Neenah Classic Cream and the sizzlits embossing die valentine wreath that Chautona gifted me with. there is a bit of gold stickles on it, the sentiments from the SU set whimsical words and stamped in Versafine Toffee ink. its a little smaller then A-2 in real life as i trimmed off the parts where the embossing die edge also embossed into the cardbase.

TJBBC Okay tried this again *Ü*

Our Neighbors old boxer was put to sleep recently (medical reasons) and so they got on a waiting list for a puppy and finally got to bring her home last weekend. ( They have another boxer) but, I think that since our family has Labs this still works as from "us" the Image is from PSX and the sentiments from Elzybells UK. Versafine vintage sepia on SU blush blossom. both of these cards were done for TamiJo's birthday bash challenge TJBBC .. this one is 5X7 in real life and uses the SCS sketch SC236 & CC180. the sentiments cut with spellbinders fancy tag dies,(there are pop dots between them) the chocolate delight pearls are from Queen & Co. the hemming lace is from Wrights, the scallops on the Ruby red were done with an PTI medium scallop die, That flower is from MM. I love how this one turned out and hope the Neighbors will too. This one was done for the sketch SC239 & the Color 257 but, i changed the colors on this, i dug out a sheet of chocolate chip then started thinking what color is dusty durango? ( no clue so i picked the blue out of this years incolors. ( that was best guess) then i don't have the sage shadow and had a scrap of celery on the table and used it, so then i seen these gina k chocolate scraps and ran them through the Oriental variety pack folder (cant think of its name sorry) and thought its not bad, not sure i really like it but, its not horrible. the celery panel is up on pop dots, that paperclip is from MM and has a piece of "fibers by the yard" fiber in it... remember them? think they closed but they were one of my first things i did via pay pal... bought bits and snips of various yarns via the Internet a million years ago... :) funny memories. I used to belong to a vintage ribbon & trims type mail it to you once a month club thing and i can no longer remember that co's name at all anymore. (wonder if its still open?)

*Hiccup*

Whippersnapper image, colored with Copic's. Basic Grey & Making Memories Buttons. This is 5X7 in real life, River City Rubber Works sentiment with Whipper Snapper image, Sahara Sand cs, some scraps of Couture CS a rose by any other name cs (run through an herringbone cuttlebug folder) Mega deckle Rectangle spellbinders die. (pretty simple) although even up to the last second i am doubting not putting thread into the button holes. but, without the thread to point out they are buttons like this they could look like they were dropped from her hand like spices... was what i was thinking.

Friend Like You

Gina K Designs friends are forever sentiment. Crimson Red Versafine ink with some Victorian Velvet Distress... got carried away with the distress ink on the first version ( juicy newer pad) and so did it a second time and cut it out along the edges of where the embossed edge starts and layered it over the top.
I started this card looking at Tami's blog
( she's got a set of sketches and color combo's from SCS to mix and match for a blog challenge and right before i turned off the computer i looked at the stamp tv inspiration challenge, so with that in mind... this is an mish mash of several things, the SC239 sketch, some of the colors of the CC58 and this Brides Magazine Cover Inspiration page. So since it doesn't really fit any of them i wont link it to them.
Started this card by pulling out sheets of always artichoke and certainly celery (which didnt make the card) and realized i do not own pixie pink... so then i spied this multi pack of Couture Cardstock called "a Rose by any other name" and the two pink/burgundy textured cardstocks came out of that... Have been stamping sentiments on my scrap strips of cardstock trying to use some of it up and had this sentiment stamped and diecut already so just messed around with some layers until it looked right. ( then checked all the challenges and thought you know better then to rely on your memory) lol.
the embossed panels were done with an Sizzix folder (don't know its name) the sentiment panel was done with Spellbinders Labels 4 & 13 and fancy tags, the button brads and silk flowers "love struck" are Making Memories. the Lace is vintage. the textured cream cardstock is from Sundance Felt "natural white" the black linen texture and smooth cream is from Neenah papers.

Hand over Mouth

seriously eh? this i am going to park on my desk at work... ;) River City Rubber Works sentiment with blooms(X4) from the new Gina K Botanicals set, the background stamp is rubbernecker wildflowers done with versafine Olympia green on GKD fresh asparagus. the color combo at Stamp TV this week is chocolate, Green & Ivory. the dill blooms were stamped 4 times with the Spanish moss on some scraps of cream colored cs (probably neenah but?) the 4th one is overlapping the two on the bottom corner of the sentiment panel and up on pop dots. the lace is vintage and sewn to the Asparagus Panel. the Chocolate brown cs was run through the cuttlebug folder (hmm distressed stripes? ( the one that looks like the inside of a torn cardboard box) It's 5 1/2" square in real life.

reveal card

I'm playing in exchange swap inside the wish rak subforum of RAK @ SCS and soon the boxes go out in the mail.. this has nothing to do with my gal's theme so figured it was OK to post it. Eureka Peeking kitty is heat embossed onto stardream copper ( shimmery cardstock) with ranger superfine detail black. This very very wide black lace was RAK'd to me from Jen ( thanks! I love it and still have more to play with) I've left it on the table since it arrived and while i was doing this kitty i thought ha that's big enough to be a peek-a-boo curtain, so i found a scrap of the copper and machine stitched the lace to that copper strip so i had something to glue to the cardfront. an Changito sentiment stamped in versafine, the thought is "the wait is almost over" ;) recollections mini brads, the dot pp is from creative imaginations and its 6 square in real life.

6.02.2010

( didn't catch the glimmer in this shot) the sentiment is from an new Ippity set called the simple things, the background stamp is SU filigree heat embossed with old town crafts Pink Moire. Rose Pearls, pop dots, spellbinders dies, newer colors of distress inks. the double sided pp is from Cloud 9 designs, the pink lace is vintage, the PTI ric rac die was done on a scrap of basic grey. Card base is PTI sweet blush. this ones 5X7 in real life.

Lavender Prayers

Botanical Dreams Gina K Designs image stamped with Versafine Imperial Purple, then the blooms have some "Heather" flower soft and the stems have been swiped with an tombo marker. the silk tied around the stems is "Silk 175" ( for ribbon embroidery) this was colordusted with Milled Lavender Distress. Done for the May Gina K release party Sketch Challenge # 3 while i was thinking about Alice, She lost her puppy Mary this weekend ( accidental death) so... its not your typical sympathy card colors i suppose but the choice of the flower soft was deliberate as i gave her a jar for her birthday & she's not sure what to do with it... Labels 4 spellbinders dies, scraps from the table ( cardstocks & pp) there is some pop dots under the sentiment panel and this is A-6 in real life.
