Inspired by {Beijo's Events}

This week Kia is guest hosting  the Inspiration Challenge and she has pointed our attention to the Beijos that has a blog post about a White Winter Bridal Shower seen here on their blog and I really loved all these photos so much. (My son is recently engaged so, the wedding posts caught my eye)

A closer look at the center this is a little pile of various brands of diecuts. I started out cutting the poinsettias ( Impression Obsession and spellbinders from watercolor paper and then painting them with this shimmery white kuretake gansai watercolor paint. the Penny Black berry branches & spellbinders Fern were cut from some soft seafoam cs and colored with the oxide inks ( iced spruce & cracked pistachio. and then for shimmer I did add some of the off white watercolor paint over the top to them too. the Eucalyptus, verdant & scribble leaves were cut from Vellum. The bitty white blooms with beads on them came from a Package from Hobby lobby. ( some have glitter), The centers of the poinsettias have some Nuvo dragon scale dream drops ( which merged into one big dot while drying) and the Berries on the penny black branches have some nuvo simply white crystal drops on them. Underneath the two largest layers of Poinsettias are some really old Making Memories ( came cut) sheer netting type flower shapes. You can click on the photo to enlarge it and hit your browsers back button to continue reading. The sentiment (Stampin' Up itty bitty Christmas) is up on foam pop dots. I am fairly pleased with this one although I probably should have made one of the floral clusters just a bit bigger.

 The frame is a new one from Crafters Companion called Yuletide Frames ( these are the two largest ones) This was cut from 110# Neenah ( with a metal shim) And this card finished out at 6" square in real life. I just love the colors here and just may do some variations off of this color combo later.

This is the specific photo from the blog post that I used to jump start my Inspired by card.
That's about it from me, Thanks for stopping by.

Seriously, I took my laptop to work ha ha to do this, the post below this is random fall themed October projects posted and the post behind that is Christmas themed projects. (including a couple simple ones from the Bethlehem stamp ) Downloaded new books to my kindle while I was at it too. and way in the back there is a Stampin Up Christmas book. And I used up all my play time, thanks for stopping by. :)

Other October projects

Just a few random things that were done earlier in the month. The Witch shoes is an older stamp from Stampendous colored with pencils and it has some nuvo crystal drops on some shoes and stickles glitter glue on some polka dots. The sentiment is a fairly new one from My Favorite Things sassy pants line called Spooktacular.
This cute kitty is from the Whipper Snapper designs, and it was colored with some kurtake gansai watercolors. I was trying to make the wrapping look more like toilet paper then mummy wraps, the eyes have some nuvo crystal drops on them and I gave it a snarky sentiment from the Tim Holtz snarky Halloween cats set. The watercolor paper was cut with a wonky stitched rectangle from Simon Says Stamp.

This weeks clean and simple challenge was to use the color Orange so, the Hero Arts premade base was run through a crafters companion Leaf vein folder and inked with some of the crackling campfire oxide ink in a few spots. the base is on the thin side and the color did crack in places. The sentiment is from Riley & co. and the ribbon is from May Arts.

 This week the featured stamper is Tanya and I happened across this card of hers again and I love that she stamped that branch out tree twice front and center with those colors so, making changes I did use that same tree ( twice in the center) changed the colors and added in some smaller trees from the thoughtful branches set, the deer grass & leaves in the small trees are from the snow front set and the sentiment is from the Occasional greetings set .  I hardly ever do a card with stamps all from one company so that was funny to me when it was done.

This was done as a thank-you note for a boss's day gift from June. The featured stamper at that time was Marianne and I came across this card of hers that jump started it.

a side view. the sentiment is from A Muse and the mulberry flowers are from Prima.

This uses the Joy Fold tutorial found here in the 4 1/4" square size.

October's Christmas Cards so far

 These are all out of order and kind of stuck together just have fingers crossed they will load, you can click on photos to enlarge and hit your browsers back button to continue reading. ( I think )

A while back there was a watercolor wednesday challenge to watercolor over the top of a piece that had been run through a textured embossing folder. ( so this was done for that) This was colored with some Kurtake gansai watercolors and then I added some crystal stickles glitter glue to the berries sections for some additional shine. The tree is a sticker from Hobby Lobby.
This weekend's Inspiration challenge headed to the Riverbend store site and I came across this Star garland and thought, oh, you have that Impression Obsession Holiday shell border that could work for this.. This was colored with pencils and has some Nuvo crystal drops and stickles glitter glue over some shells too. The sentiment here is from the SU itty bitty Christmas set.

This is a slimline (4" x 9") gatefold opening card using the Woodware from Creative Expressions Christmas peaceful night.  (Bethlehem stamp.) I did add some very pale shade of pencils to this with some white gel pen and glitter pen on the swirls and star. I decided to use use the blue as an outline to give the idea of a night sky without coloring the whole thing.
This was the first version I had stamped and colored this one on some Neenah millstone. ( its more of a sand color) and also has the Star dream navy shimmer as a mat. I did use the Pink fresh studios slim  stitched rectangle dies to cut the image and the mats. ( one card has the plain dies, one has the stitched edge dies)
Now this was done just messing around as I had made the card seen below first for the Mixed Media challenge last week ( which was to paint your own tree or branches free hand and I had painted the cat and swiped the tree boughs with markers...) Yeah, that happens. The cats & sentiments on both cards are from the Tim Holtz Stamptember 2020 set co branded with Simon Says Stamp. this one is A2 in real life.
A few weeks ago the Inspiration challenge headed to the fat quarter shop and I found this fabric online that inspired the colors here. The Penny Black poinsettia was stamped twice on some soft sky cardstock and colored with pencils. I did cut one up and use it to be a underlayer of petals in a more slightly red tint of this. The sentiment here is from Tim Holtz.

This version the eyes are also colored over with a white gel pen and there is also clear nuvo crystal drops on the light bulbs.

This one was done jump started by the Dirty Dozen's October prompt this month just to see if I could. and its kind a different look for me ( I think ) I never would have came up with this without that challenge that is for certainly sure. The tree is an older Sizzix die with some black stickles glitter glue on it. I did cut the shank off the star button and the sentiment is a printed sheet
from Simon Says Stamp.
The school is supposed to make a final decision if the Shepherds Market will be able to hold before this Thanksgiving on November 1st. my best guess is that it will have to be postponed until the Virus is more under control and so, I really have not been making that much this year because, that is what I have thought all year long. but, I do have things left over from previous years and I will be ok if by some chance it does hold. It seems very strange to not be in craft like a crazy woman zone right now at this time of year, and to make up for it I have been in shop like all the stores are closing tomorrow zone instead lol. Yeah, the haul is pretty embarrassing so, I am trying to play with some of it.  That's about it from me, Thanks for stopping by.

WOYWW # 594 {the nearly dial-up edition}

holy cow, before I speak too soon this just might work today. ( there are so many people trying to use the internet from home now that the hot spot at our house does not cut it anymore, its worse than dial-up lol) So, we are on a waiting list to have a fiber line installed. but, the longest that may take is 7 more weeks the soonest may be 5. I drug the sofa table I color at out of the corner from the stamp shelves and put it on a wall in the more open space in the room to have more light to see. so far so good, I am coloring again for the first time in a long time.

I have so many photos I have not shared here yet, and I really don't want to jinx this so, I am going to let this go through now as is. I hope you are all doing well, I will be driving all day for work today and it does not like to load any sites with photos on this barely there connection so, it may be at slow times at work before I can comment and it just seemed better to not post and then not be able to go visiting. but, I do think of y'all often and hope you are doing well. Thanks for stopping by.

A few thoughts

 So, I know its been forever since I posted. We have a Verizon hotspot for internet at home and for what I did with it here it was "ok" but, I was also told that all the other services did not connect to my house so, it was also pretty much the only thing I could have here. The cable co.'s line stop a block away. The provider that has a fiber line at my office in the city their lines are about 2 miles away. and would cost about 12K to run the line from there to my house.

And then the Satellite TV co. said, oh we partner with the phone co. and you could have high speed internet and it just plugs into your TV and you can stream what ever etc. So, I set up an appointment for that. Turns out, it does not plug into the TV it needs a phone line and the phone lines are buried underground on the other side of the street, and they would have to partner with a construction co. to core drill under the street to run a line over here and then install a phone line into the house to hook up said internet. and the installation was just shy of 2K... so, that has been canceled and we are on a waiting list to have a fiber line installed. (which is still 2K) but, I think if you are going to pay 4 figures for internet you may as well get the best one available.  ( this is from a different company that what we have had for years at work but, the speeds are comparable) but, this co. is already in a line outside my house as we live across the street from a school and they have that same Fiber line.

 we had switched to I-phones in August, the phones and the hotspot all share the "unlimited data" but, the phones use up all the 4g within the first week of the month and I have a hard time opening any site with photographs and or trying to up load photos from here has become pull your hair out make you  crazy feeling. I also have no bars sitting in my kitchen with my phone so people who text me photos, I see them the next time I am at work. ( it will not load the photos in the phones text messages at home)

 It is currently upland game bird season and these are Izzy's birds from the opening weekend and Grace decided to come check them out after hubs brought her home. We had a bit of rain a couple of weeks ago and it knocked the smoke down to the ground so, on the nicer days we have blue skies here again. (what a relief) That's about it from me, thanks for stopping by.
