This week Julie has chosen the old farmers Almanac as the Inspiration and I happened across this laundry line pin and smiled. (do I say that all the time? oh, I have a stamp that will work for that) ha, It's true I have a ton of stamps. and I am working my way through coloring them all.
So, I stamped this Penny Black sun dried on some Arches hot press watercolor paper with Versafine and painted it with Daniel Smith paints. the white dots on the underwear were done with Dr. PH Martins bleed proof white ink and the sentiment is from the Hero Arts many everyday messages set. This one is A6 in real life. You can find this challenge here at Splitcoaststampers to play along with us if you like. Thanks for stopping by.

A Daisy Dash
I had stamped this Picked for you penny black Hedgehog stamp with some Versafine and colored it with pencils and then there is some (wet when shot) crystal stickles over the yellow centers of the daisy's. The with love sentiment here is from Clearly Besotted message me set and the long sentiment seen below is from the Mama Elephant set called just a note.
Today is the day they reveal the newest featured stamper at SplitcoastStampers and today it is Terry And I chose this fun card of hers because, I love the shape and layers. ( its not a normal style for me to make) I did read that she made her card to fit an A2 envelope so, I cut my cardbase to 4 1/4" square and then when I was cutting my rectangles with a die, I made mine too wide to squeeze in 4 across the bottom and since I used a die, ha ha they were too short at the top too so,out came this My Favorite Things stitched scallop border die to hide that. Changes I made are the stamp, colors, I added a second sentiment and tied it onto the stamped panel. I think the Inside will get the Happy Birthday greeting. That's about it from me, thanks for stopping by.

For Baby
This week's featured stamper is Janeen and I chose this darling baby card to CASE.
I chose a similar image ( this one is a Penny Black hedgehog hammock) that I received as a gift and it was in my to be played with pile.

I did change the colors, move the sentiment up to the stamped panel and switched out the diecuts and pearls for textiles. that yellow ribbon is from Making memories and the crochet lace is vintage.
A closer look at the coloring. The sentiment is from the Gina K lovely labels 2 set. I think this one is headed to the booth next fall as I do not have any baby showers to attend in the next little while and I think the colors will work for neutral. Thanks for stopping by.

challenge cards catch up post
a while back the ways to use it was to do a "cute" critter card, and I had colored this little penny black ladybug n' hedgehog stamp with some polychromos pencils at work one day and had it sitting on the table thinking to add some glossy something to the lady bugs wings and never got that far, but I think it is cute so, I turned it into a really quick little card. ( the sentiment is also from Penny Black) that plaid paper is from My Minds Eye. and the seam binding lace is vintage.
two weeks ago Michelle was the featured stamper and I had a couple of days before that started coloring this Peddlers pack background with some polychromos and prisma pencils and the whole time I was coloring the wings blues and greens I kept thinking well maybe you can do the petals purple. ( because, purple is not a go to color for me and it would be something different) and then I started poking around in Michelle's gallery and found this pretty card and thought oh, no that is entirely too close but, the nap time were shorter that week and finally I decided to just roll with it because, I had spent too much time over thinking about it. the sentiment here I have no clue what set it is from I spent a long time looking at the ever note files and not finding it. ( it was stamped a long time ago on a scrap and die cut)
This week Julee Tilman is the featured stamper and when I see her name I instantly think of Verve and Coffee. and layers and mixed media. and of course I found lots of that, and while I was poking around in her gallery I found this really gorgeous snow card and this pretty colored coffee card and I kinda just used them as a jump start for this one. ( that lace is a Tim Holtz die cut) the corrugate has green acrylic paint on it and was a scrap from a previous project, I did rough up the edges of the stamped and mat panels. The coffee mug and sentiment are from the Unity Stamps comfort to go set and I had stamped them off on this Neenah millstone a long time ago when I first got the stamps. ( I think that may be an avery elle pigment ink but, I am not positive anymore) the die cut snow are from both a lawn fawn stitched snow and a lil inker designs stitched snow sets. I did cut the shank off the button in the center of that too.
The try a new Technique this week uses the floral tag card tutorial ( which I did not read or watch the video I just kinda looked at the photo and decided it was a clean and simple card with flowers on the tag and the base.) ( the other cards all have their base only stamped on one end of the it under the tag, not peeking out across the card front) *shrugs* I still like this just fine, the flowers are from the Penny Black delicate flowers set, stamped with markers and have a tiny bit of polychromos pencils on them and the sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp say it all friend set. this one is A2 in real life.
Today Izzy goes back to the vets for round two of her puppy shots and a micro chip. and tonight is the last puppy kindergarten class. So, things are still busy but, there are larger gaps of peace in between during the day now too. (YAY now we are just trying to out last her on the little amount of sleep we get) Thanks for stopping by.

Hang in there
This week's featured stamper is Kerry, who has a gorgeous flower filled gallery with fabulous attention to detail and lots of stitched layers and lace. ( totally yummy in other words) so, after much debate I finally chose this darling hedgehog card of her's because, I knew I had previously colored this one with pencils a while back and I was pretty sure I could cut it into a circle. ( circles are not a normal thing for me) and I really liked that on her card. So, I dug out this lacy circles Spellbinders die to be the mat, and moved the texture from the bloom to one of the background layers here. There are less photo corners, less layers I did go square and there are no real lumps either, the lace is vintage, the ribbon came in an recent Ellen Hutson order. This mod scrap printed paper came in an recent Simon Says stamp kit, so that changed the colors fairly quickly. I did move the sentiment up to the stamped panel too.
A closer look at the coloring, this was done with prisma pencils and a little bit of white gel pen. the sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp tiny words encouragement set. and this one finished out at 5 1/2" square in real life.

Booth Tags
So, I should mention that some of these were made months ago.
About the only ones made in the last week are the Christmas ones where there is more than one tag in the shot and the stockings. (one of the stockings is double sided and a gift card holder the others are flat tags)

June gifted me with these mid sized Bird Crazy stamps last year and I had played with one when this house die came out (months ago) I think that sentiment is from Impression Obsession.
That cow & sentiment were gifted to me via wish rak a very long time ago. ( both of these are SU stamps)
The hedgehog is from Penny Black, I have forgotten the sentiment.
I just liked this pretty paper and wanted to let it be the focal.
This hedgehog is from Penny Black and I think it was an PIF image so, I do not know its name. and the sentiment is from MFT ( the giraffing me crazy?)
These are all bitty Hero Arts stamps from different scene building sets.
The From me to you sentiment on this one is from Concord & 9th. the tag shape is from Taylored Expressions. The other sentiment is from A Muse.
That poinsettia is a sticker.
The Ho Ho HO is from Unity Stamps and the awesome is from Taylored Expressions.
The be Merry & have Joy is from Unity Stamps. I forgot on the naughty checklist.
The Merry Christmas is from Concord & 9th, the other two are from Taylored Expressions.
This sentiment is from Altenew.
The bright & sparkly greeting is from Art Impressions. ( a snowman tangled in lights set) and the other is from Taylored Expressions.
This star is from PTI and the sentiment is from Gina K.
This stocking is a gift card holder ( its the SU sizzix one from a few years ago) the snowflakes are from Lawn Fawn.
The Ho HO HO here is from Impression Obsession.
The Merry Christmas is from Clearly Besotted, the holly is a really thick hard sticker.

Hurry up Spring
So, this weeks featured stamper is Denise and I came across this card of hers and it made me smile so changes to mine were less layers and no printed papers.
The sentiment on this is from an older Club Scrap set called Shades of Winter. (it's supposed to mostly rain and possibly snow for the rest of the week here) and this is the kind of weather my husband is totally ready for tee shirts, shorts and heat.
I had a pile of images that were copic colored with a base layer that I added some pencil over the tops of them in January to give them some texture during the last 30 day marker challenge and never really made them into anything and one day (its been a while I did make some simple cards and just let the photos sit in the to be shared folder for a while and I thought since I am stealing the time to make this post I may as well give you a bigger bang for your buck for stopping by haha)
(no, really I tend to organize everything... even that folder so, when there are too many photos in it, I get twitchy)
This silly dog is from Penny Black called Bee Have and the sentiment is from the Club Scrap set called Adirondack Greetings from May of 2017.
The embossed waves are a SU folder.
Another Penny Black image. ( I have to hunt for its name I forget those things) and the sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp / CZ simple sentiments set. I would have linked you to that but, this computer is not allowing me to copy a url inside sss anymore? ( that is strange) the whole site is "secure" even if you are not "signed in"
There is a little bit of white gel pen besides the pencils on this one.
The cake is from SU and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp called best ever and this one is A2 in real life.

This is from an older SU set mind just went blank as to what it's name is. the background under it is also an older su one that was heat embossed and colored as a resist.

Inspired By {Color Palette's}
This week Julie has sent us to the Color Palette's site for inspiration and there is just ton's there it would be fairly easy to make many many cards from their color combo shots. When I started looking at the site I had a hard time choosing just one so, I started flipping through the already colored images on the table to narrow it down some and came across this one ( seen below) and thought OK you can build on that. This sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp set called Best Ever. This penny black hedgehog is called Roses on the Run.
I do not now how long its been since this was stamped and colored with first layer of copic maker but, I did add some polychromos pencil and white gel pen over the top in January when the latest round of 30 day marker coloring challenge was going on and set this aside. I just like the texture that pencil adds to things. ( esp. things that are supposed to be alive)
This one I felt used the colors in the hedgehog image the best and then the scrap of grey/brown texture picked up some of those colors in the picnic table of the photo I thought. This one finished out at 5 1/2" square in real life. Thanks for stopping by.

a few more things
This is the largest ornament in the stitched ornaments die set from Lawn Fawn, when I looked at these dies I had assumed they were going to make frames to make shaker tags but, the reality is they cut the stitched detail where you lay the die and you get a drop piece that is ornament shaped for a window. ( which is not a bad thing, just not what I thought it would do)
These letters and wreath are from the concord and 9th joyful noel die set. the sentiments from the stamp set with the same name and the frame was done with the My Favorite things gift box cover die (twice for some depth) this originally started out to be for the clean and simple challenge to use the letters from the word NOV but, I kept getting stuck on an O word...
This weeks color challenge uses colors that I only had the real red shade so I just kind of squinted at the monitor and called it good enough those are distress oxides on the star stamp from the Nov. Hero Arts kit of the month set, I did spray these with water before pressing and this was shot wet, there is nuvo glitter drops on the leafy parts of those vines on the stars. the ho ho ho is from Impression Obsession.
a second attempt at that same color combo, which I like this one much better actually. The ornament is from the Hero Arts my monthly hero Nov 2017 kit.
This was done messing around with one of those eyelash fibers wrapped on an old block drug through white acrylic paint for a background from the fallidays challenges.
This was done to beef-up the guy birthday card stash for the booth.
every time I make a card with this penny black dog I generally pair it with my name is bad dog for the sentiment but, I had this newer one from Impression Obsession cut and this card was built around the new sentiment actually. ( for the booth)
wednesday after work tags from things already cut on the table.
these tags are from the Spellbinders Shortie tags set. the ornaments on the right are drop pieces from that lawn fawn stitched ornament die set. the Noel is from echo park.
The tree die is from Taylored Expressions trim a tree the sentiment is from Penny Black and the snowflakes I cut last year some time so, I really don;t remember. they are topped off with a plastic shankless button.
the sentiment on the left is from Stampin' Up, the snowflake on the bottom is a Sizzix die and the one in the middle is a Hero Arts tag snowflake die ( the one that is one of the add on's for Nov) The tag on the right is my favorite from this batch, I just love this text paper its the one in the Tim Holtz pad that is out this year and the wreath is from Concord & 9th.
The Jingle all the way is from Taylored Expressions and the snowflake tag on the right is from Hero Arts its probably easier to see the shape of it this way than layered to a larger snowflake in the one above.
the believe is from simon says stamp, the heart is from Lil Inkers designs. the corrugate was just a scrap so, it didn't get die cut to that shape haha but, I did consider it. and tonight we go set it up so, I probably won't be making any last minute things. but, then I find it hard to sleep and do it anyways.
