Inspired by a store display

 The inspiration challenge today heads to a gal's beach house pinterest board where I picked the photo below. My card is A-6 in real life, the painted pieces were things I had done when I had some paint out for something else last weekend? ( its been a while) the buttons been on the table for at least a month. I just loved all the layers and layers of texture in that photo. if I ever retire I hope I do it closer to the beach...

Seagull Birthday

The metal stick is an tim holtz memo pin, ( its sharp) figured the provo craft paper was thick enough to hold it, and it will be hand delivered most likely. the sentiments from stampendous and on an Memory Box primo label die cut.

Did this knowing I "need" more guy birthday cards for upcoming events over the next few months. will probably be used for a work one. the PSX seagulls are stamped with versafine on Neenah and colored with copic's there is a bit of prisma pencils over that for texture. this uses both the regular and small sizes of labels 4 dies. its up on pop dots, the copper texture pp is from provocraft. the woodgrain pp is from Basic Grey ( life of the party) this is 6" square in real life.

Guy Cards

Its hard to see, but there is a layer of mulberry paper attached to the sentiment panel, then there is a layer of popdots and a second mulberry sheet under those. the tiny charm is unknown. ( had it a million years ) somebody from ckmb may remember where everyone was ordering these things from but, its not me. This is 4 1/2" X 6" in real life. all the stamps are from the Gina K designs set called Gifts from the Sea. They are stamped with versafine vintage sepia on gkd kraft cardstock. the mat under this is gkd tan leather ( has a cool texture) the cardbase is Bazzill and the Mulberry is from dcwv ( if they are the ones that made those old mat stacks a long time ago?) can't remember. ( and all those pads of papers get ripped apart and sorted by color in my room. There is a stamp tv challenge right now for creating your own background paper with stamps. The hard part for me or what made it a challenge was not mixing in other stamp lines... A look inside. Some very simple guy cards done with scraps and the boys will be boys Taylored Expressions set. some Spellbinders dies, K&Co. plaid pp, pop dots, black trim, Bazzill Textured cs. these are like 4X6 in real life.

this fluffy fiber was machine stitched to the orgin's background paper. Happy Birthday for a Man. WRMDCC1008 Dealer's choice on style or what ever... This is A-6 in real life, Bazzill cardbase, Basic Grey Orgins line pp, PSX image colored with prisma pencils die cut with an labels Labels 9 die, creamy brown fluid chalk ink (colorbox) along the edges, Stampin Up sentiment, word window punch, Tim Holtz trinket pin, hemp string. Gina K Designs stamps, I have been heat embossing this particular doily on Staples vellum with some ranger seafoam white for a friends so they can see how big it is in real life, and the last ones i did, I made an extra for me, added this Gina K ( make a wish ) sentiment along the bottom and tore the edges decided to stitch it to the background panels. This was done for the Girls birthday WRMDCC1005 which needed to use one of the bedrooms as the inspiration. I chose room 8 Caroline's room which was green and pink and white... To me all that's missing from that room is a birdcage... ( almost tossed one of those on here too) so it was more shabby chic looking then some of the other rooms in my mind is how i picked it, didn't hurt that its some of my more favorite colors... the green shimmer pp is from an dcwv mat stack pad, the background pp is from Websters Pages ( an combo pack that includes papers from the lullaby lane & life's portrait lines) there is an American Crafts pearl brad in the center, some sewing thread & a piece of May Arts puffy shinny floral trim that was rak'ed to me. This card is 6 inches square in real life. Monochromatic Anniversary WRMDCC1009 This one is 5X7 in real life, the sentiments from Stampin up done with Versafine Toffee on a piece of PTI vintage cream layered to another fancy tags die cut done on a piece of shimmery textured provo craft paper. Kraiser latte pearls, Antique Linen distress ink. ( lots of pop dots there are dots between the tag layers and also holding the bottom tag into place on the cardfront. Stardream Opal shimmery cardstock run through an "5X7" Meadow Lark cuttlebug embossing folder. May Arts ribbon ( bow easy) May Arts iridescent cord, Colored with prisma pencils to look "scruffy & well loved" so, not blended. short strokes kept turning the image as i colored. this was done for an "recipe card" challenge (you have to use all the recipe on the card)WRMDCC1011 The particular recipe rules for this challenge were:

So, I know i had a wish for popcorn bear images and i also received some via PIF so, not sure how i got this critter. Its cut out and i cut off the tag that comes with the image (because it was too small for the sentiment i wanted to stamp) so, that was punched with an EK success ticket punch ( one that does 3 sizes at once) the sentiments from the Stampin Up set fancy flexible phrases. the Paisley is also from SU and done with summer sun ink on barely banana cardstock, sides were punched with an EK success bracket border punch. the Swiss dots brown ribbon is unknown. the stitched texture pp is from Provo Craft. This is A-6 in real life.

Sea Faith

Picked up this peddlers pack stamp a couple of weeks ago in Beaverton and colored this with copics...

At the same time my last Gina K release sets had arrived right before we left for Portland so, have this "Gifts from the Sea" set on the table at the same time (sentiment) (all the sentiments in this set are just as beautiful if you havent seen it yet) this one's A-6 in real life. the cardbase is soft sky the mat under the image is part of the blue bazzill rak from Leigh Anne {spent the better part of my gift certificate at the lss on blue bazzill the other day :) } anyways, the little clips are old scrap supplies thinking Heidi Swapp, but not sure what they were called. the Sentiment was die cut with an Spellbinders fancy tag die.

A Fathers Light

These guiding light stamps were done with Versafine Vintage Sepia on a sheet of Georgia Pacific #110 that has Peeled Paint distress foil transferred to it... It was colored slightly with prisma pencils. This was done for Lee's sketch challenge during the Gina K release party last night. the images are matted with a piece of tan textured bazzill and the hemp string is from Wal-Mart's bead isle. the edges have some colorbox creamy brown fluid chalk ink on them. the pale cream cs (unknown) was run through an seashell collage cuttlebug folder and cut in half this has some creamy brown and chestnut roan chalk inks on it. the printed paper is from Diane's Daughters and the Blue card base is also Bazzill and measures 5 1/2" x 6" in real life. thanks for this Challenge Lee.

Happy Birthday Honey!

Tim collects antique lures. this is an Judi-kins stamp done on Neenah with Memento and colored with prisma pencils. die cut with an spellbinders tag die and up on popdots. The happy birthday (teeny tiny wishes) is punched with an word window punchie and attached with MM circle jump rings (these look so cool and are such a pain in the everything to get to close together again) Little bit of fibers tied on. there is copper threads in the fibers that give it that nearly real "flash" of an modern lure. That cheapie green cardstock was run through an Cuttlebug {Asian bundle} "Japanese Scales" folder. the burlap pp is from delcore designs. with some American Crafts medium copper brads. The copper shimmer is from Stardream. the neutral is SU Confetti Cream. This is 6 1/2 X 4 3/4" in real life.

random cards

To Me when i see this stamp it feels like an old 1950's tablecloth and that is how the colors were inspired... I won this on the bay recently for $4.99 ( holy COW you read that right!) (the seller did not mark it as PSX)This ones about 5 1/2" square in real life, the blue is PTI aqua mist with some creamy brown colorbox fluid chalk ink on the edges. the stamps from PSX... I've stamped it with versafine vintage sepia on neenah classic cream and colored with copic markers. Green textured cs is from Bazzill.

Done very simply (quickly) with scraps on the table from the formal baby card below... the train is stamped with vintage sepia on neenah classic cream and colored with copic markers, sentiments from Stampers Anonymous and the brads are unknown ( suspect Joann's fabrics mm knock-offs but could very well be MM too ( I have them all in the same jar)

this ones 5Inches Square in real life. Now this one was in a lot auction of with PSX stamps but, this is from some (never heard of before company) called ImaginAir Designs.

fishing scenes

Did this as a simple note card for Tim the other day... he had wanted to go fishing for Father's Day but the weather did not cooperate, so... I liked how the colors turned out on this and used up the scraps for a couple more... all of these are 5X7 in real life. the moon/sun with clouds is unknown. the bulk of the other stamps are stampscapes and the grass is SU.

Beach Scene trials

well this evening these colored images became very simple cards... what can i say? I like them, that surprises me. I tell people that i cant even draw stick people... so its cool to see that straight lines can pass for water movement lol. ok so this one is 5 1/2 X6 in real life. the Sea grasses (versafine spanish moss ink) and beach edge (left side) are from Great Impressions. the light house on top right corner is from PSX. (as are birds on the bottom) Sentiments from Stampendous or inkadinkado. the rest is pen lines. colored with prisma pencils. Mat is a piece of Spring Moss Papertrey ink cs that came to me via wish rak. cardbase is Bazzill. the ribbons unknown, brads (huge) are from Imaginisce Caspian Copper.

This one the gal is from Viva Las Vegas stamps, (shes cut out and glued into the scene so slightly 3-d) Colored with markers (skin) and prisma pencils (everything else) Beach scene is from PSX. Sentiments from Impression Obsession. everything else is pen drawings. the Mat on this image is from Papertrey Ink (aqua mist) and came to me via wish rak. the cardbase is also PTI and called Vintage Cream. this card is 6 3/4 X 5 inches in real life.

added a little color to these last night... may add more later tonight... thinking they look better with color on the cardstock.

third and fourth attempts... girl is just sitting on top of the paper... think i need a sand texture stamp. ( thought i had one probably sold it from lack of use though) (wouldn't that just figure...)

trying something new (for me) i don't use my stamps to make scenes... And truth is i don't own many scene type stamps but, Ive found my self picking them up here and there over the last couple of months... the sea grass and beach edge are new to me ones from Great Impressions, the lighthouse is PSX i got it on ebay after i had been granted this image as a wish... the shore birds are PSX and the gal from behind in a swimsuit is from my last viva Las Vegas order. ( colored her last night and thought oh go build her a beach to sit on...) but, I'm thinking the scene's i am making look more like Oregon Coast line to me.. ( which is not how people dress here for the "beach") anyways... do they look a little odd with the pen lines trying to make the scene fill the 5X7 size space?
