Train of Thoughts

This one was done for my friend at works husband who is undergoing an cancer removal surgery soon. there is a lot of that going around the metal frame is an old old Making Memories one for scrapbooking. The train is an Tim Holtz one from stampers anonymous and the sentiment is from SU. this one is 5X7 in real life.

Butterfly Graffiti

This old old ( some of the first lines) from Basic Grey makes me think grungy graffiti when I see it and I thought it may be kinda cool with this frilly die cut Memory Box Dies. the orange-ish
corrugated paper is a scrap as is the small piece of well worn words background. The sentiment is from Savvy Stamps and this one is 6" square in real life.

More Phyllis Harris Girls

Just some simple ones, the sentiment on this one is from Gina K designs and the gal is from Unity Stamps the Phyllis Harris line. (your wings exist) this one is 6" square in real life.

This one is 5X7 in real life the sentiment is from Hero Arts the ribbons both widths are certainly celery with an vintage button and may arts string. blue satin sashes is what I was thinking when I colored her so its funny that ended up being the only blue on the card.

This one is also 5X7 and its the first time I tried to color this one its harder because, I don't remember how to do the markings on a horse, its been too long and you know I think I have no photos at all of any horse I ever had growing up. I wish I did. the printed paper on this one is unmarked the sentiments from the My Favorite things set just my type.

Dreamy Ferns

A closer look at the stamped panel this started with the Canvas background being stamped with creamy brown fluid chalk ink on the Neenah millstone then the Ferns were stamped with mostly second generation inks and then the colordusting started the butterfly is from an old old two step stamp from SU ( with blue rubber) I think it was called watercolor mini but, not sure about that anymore it was done in Versafine. there is some prisma pencils all over the top of this panel also and just a teeny bit of Gold Stickles on & under the butterfly. this was done inspired by this weeks Featured Stampers Gallery, Doni's card is seen here

It's always a hard thing when you see many things in someones gallery you'd like to CASE but, you think they did it so cool what changes would you make so this card was easier for me than most the others because, although I love every detail of Doni's I don't own the same stamps she does so, that gives it a change right off the bat, the second change is there is no paint on this. and I eliminated some of the matting layers and string. This is flat in real life and A-6. The ferns are from Fred B Mullett and Hero Arts the sentiment is from Gina K designs ( a butterfly set think its name just may be take flight) or something like that.

When I was digging through the box of fern stamps came across this one from Just for Fun and thought haha its almost too perfect, but, I stamped on up and colored this one entirely with prisma pencils ( no blending) the sentiment is from Stampendous and the canvas background went down on it first. the edges were swiped with an colorbox chalk cats eye but, I didnt glance at the color name before I came in the house.  the tag was previously stained with ranger distress and some walnut inks. the yellow popcorn trim was a gift from Leigh Anne a very long time ago, and its been on the table ever since because its one of those things that I thought would be impossible to use ( its pretty lumpy in real life) so, I think it works for a tag filler.

more from Saturday

Penny Black chickens with an River City rubber works sentiment, basic grey pp.
pear pizzazz cs & ribbon this one is 5X7 in real life, the chickens were colored with copics and prisma pencils. so, it actually works for this weeks mixed media challenge but... maybe something else will occur to me later this weekend that I end up liking better.

the copper panel is an star dream shimmer. the other pp. are basic grey this one is also 5X7 in real life and the pp is just a little too much for the size of the Celtic cross ( Our Daily Bread Designs) I like the idea of this one but, may take it apart and make it an A-6 sized card to trim down the scale of the Printed Paper mats. the cross was colored with prisma pencils.

Stampers Anonymous blueprint sewing machine ( Tim Holtz) done chalkboard style on some basic black with the SU white powder. the sentiments from My Sentiments Exactly on an avery key tag. this is 5X7 in real life the stitched paper came from an assortment package at costco many years ago the base is PTI smokey grey.

The lamp is from Viva Las Vegas stamps and the sentiment is from northwoords this one is A-6 in real life. the pp is from Kaiser Craft.

some 3" gift cards using up scraps. left sentiment is from Art Impressions the one on the right I think may be inkadinkado?

these are river city rubber works sentiments 3" square in real life.

both of these are also 3" square in real life I think the one on the left is IO and the one on the right is RCRW.

Roses in Cream

The wax paper trick means almost all the booger dies are being cut in my room this last week so I have a pile of things to play with ( frilly die cuts) and as it happened I was moving them out of the way and thought they don't look half bad stacked up, just needs pop dots and so it went made a pile of things today and a lot of the larger sized cards all have frilly die cuts on them. This basket is an Marianne designs die and the buttefly pin is from Impress and I used some wire cutters to snip the sharp end off of it, the sentiments from Stampendous and the flowers are from wild orchid crafts.

This is 5X7 in real life, the texture is cuttelbug's wicker weave all the layers are very vanilla and the base is vintage cream.

Friday's Cards

just from scraps on the table, when I had the floral die out last sunday for the FS card I did I did do the usual and cut more of what ever from scraps at hand so, the sentiments from MFT just my type set and this one is A-2 in real life, think that handmade paper is a scrap from creative imaginations ( years and years ago) the gingham is an Graphic 45 scrap and the book page is from an old dictionary. these were inked with some antique linen distress on the edges. the center bling is from Queen and Co. ( goosebump)

the ways to use it challenge this week was to do a cool or warm colored card depending on your low that day ( thursday ) and so, the snow is from Hero Arts, the letters are from doodlebug and the bling in the center is from recollections has some dusty concord and milled lavender distress color dusted onto the panel.

this was done for today's free for all challenge which was to use only paper and ink. the pop dots dont count and dies were allowed on paper only so the center panel is diecut and up on pop dots. the linen is from SU and the doily/sentiment is from the gina k designs set nana's needlework and nanas needlework sentiments. this one is only 4 1/4" in real life.

Sunny Daydreams

Something from last weekend that I didn't make time to post this week. The fairy is from Personal Stamp Exchange, colored with copic markers and gel pens.

those flowers are from Prima and the sentiment is from SU. just a mostly simple one.

FS363 Bloomin' Pot

A Closer Look at the blooms, the glitter paper was from Micheals after Christmas ( but, I think they carry it all the time) and the red almost leather looking paper is from ProvoCraft ( many years ago) and the cream with the splatters is from a scrap that I made something for the Dirty gallery last month with. crinkled chalk. the craft button on here is from SU, its pretty detailed and it has no weight to it like an authentic vintage button would ( which is good because this card is pretty top heavy haha) The Avery tag was stained with some old paper a long time ago but, the sentiment was punched with an EK success punch and it pretty much covers up all the stain on the top side.

Now this was done as an Inspired by for this weeks featured Stamper Tina "GardenDiva" I totally LOVED this easel she made for her flowerpot cards seen here and here.  I so totally LOVE the lacy part peeking out of her pots too, ( it has hit the top of my greed list) ( I'm rolling my eyes here) so, I puttered around thinking about using real lace for some kind of a back stop for the flowers and ended up building such a heavy mess of flowers that I figured it would not support the weight, what I did for this is I die cut that pot insert piece (4) times ( two are in the inside ) and two are the back flap easel. So, knowing that I did not own any of these dies she used but, that I did buy this Pro die ( Sizzix card & pocket flower pot with flowers & leaves ) last spring after the booth (and nope I have never played with it) I dont really like the blooms that come on that pot but, I thought ok if you buy the die its going to save you a ton of time because, all the ones I had done last year were all totally cut by hand ( not really even measured just eyeballed them) and I figure if I make a few of them it will get the money back for the die later. ( eventually) this as a finished piece is inside a 5X7 card box so, its also a lot larger than the free hand ones I did . That sentiment stamps from make an impression. the blooms were done from Alterations tattered florals ( and the minis) and the tattered pinecone ( spring) the smaller spring is an MS hand held punch.

3" blank gift cards made from the scraps on the table. which puts me at 51 completed projects for this year now.

A Catch-Up Post

I am going to have to find all the sticky notes and edit the words later but as of the 18th day of this year I have completed 48 finished projects towards the 100 goal and some glitter snow ( scroll down) not counting the snow...

3 1/2" square in real life, the cup is from ann-ticipations and I *think* the sentiment maybe whippersnapper but, I have to find it to be sure.

just using up scraps, this cup is from I think inkadinkado off the top of my head this ones 3"

glitter paper from Micheals die cut with Sizzix steel ruled snowflake dies with jollees bling stickers in the centers.

this one is A-7 in real life, the lace is vintage, the hedgie was colored with copic's.

from one of the MFT sets ( dont remember the name off the top of my head I stamped a pile of all the sentiments last fall sometime and die cut them all esp. the birthday ones.)

This one is headed to work in Feb for one of the guys cards.

the sentiment is MFT the roses are ah mind just went blank.

MFT sentiment this one is for Tim's dad at the end of the month the base is shimmer copper the printed papers are from Die cuts with a view and very shimmery.

just because, Sizzix lamb diecut with an copper rhinestone for the eye. the sentiment is from IO. this one is 5" square in real life.

3" cards seen the Always stamps in the box under the box with the coffee /tea stamps. funny how that works eh? Hero Arts sentiments.

the lamb is Whippersnapper, the birdbrain is Art Impressions, sentiment is MFT just my type. these are 3" square.

the sentiment on the left is River City Rubber Works, the daisy cake is from IO and up on pop dots, that sentiment is from the 1$ bin a long time ago. these are both 3" square.

the boots are from MFT the sentiment is from Rubbernecker. the blue is 3 1/2" square. the sentiment on the right is from Unity Stamps Phyllis harris line.

thinking that sentiment is from RCRW. the one on the right is SU with an PTI butterfly diecut.

Now this stamp came to me at Christmas ( and so this a first attempt at coloring it.) which did not go as well as I wanted it to but, it was not a total toss it and start over image so... its headed for the booth.

just a closer look.

I have used this gal so many times over the years its totally funny to me that I have forgotten who makes her. the sentiment is ( also mind has gone blank one of the clear companies I think)

the flower is from Prima, the lace is vintage. this one is 5 1/2" square.

had another piece of this DCWV paper scrap ( its blingy) on the table and just liked it, the sentiment I cannot remember off hand who makes it, tied onto some tulle. this one is 3 1/2" square.

the little giraffe is stamped and colored twice and up on pop dots on the Hero Arts tag diecut. the base is copper shimmer the ribbons unknown and this one is 3" square in real life.

the lamb was also an Christmas gift from Impression Obsession with an SU sentiment. on some scraps and Gina K bases. ( I put the blah blah details in the SCS upload last week if you are really curious) my own thought is most people look at the photos anyways and dont read the words. so, it always surprises me when one of you guys leaves me the how-to info about something I rambled about and in that post I mentioned I think it took longer to get these diecuts out of the dies than it did to color and cut out the lambs... so, it was mentioned I need to invest in some wax paper for the studio and that will be the magic thing... ( gonna pick some up today unless I forget)

Angel Prayers

just an idea that didn't translate as well as I thought it would... the "sky" is gesso and 3 shades of glitter on just some pale grayish blue printed paper. I think the bling picks up in the straight shot below for once but, these are clickable to enlarge photos. ( not a slide show)

The gal is from the Unity Stamps Phyllis Harris line too beautiful for earth and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. she's colored with copic markers and some gel pens. and up on pop dots. the guesso dried a little flatter then I thought it would so smeared a second and third layer on but, really that just warped the paper more and more each layer. This is 6" square in real life, tfl.
