a shower is a glorious thing...

yep, had a shower just a bit ago... of course i have not un-packed my bag i took to the hotel with me yet so my razor is in the bag still... this may call for a second shower as soon as i get going again... lol... did not drain the water tank (this time) :) I have been on regular Tylenol for almost 24 hours now Yay me. hate the foggy sleepy thing the narcotic's do. people ask me all the time what i hear (as a totally deaf person now) its i guess the best way to put it is the sound of expectation. ( I know its imaginary) and i also know as a person who used to hear just how noisy things really are so my mind fills the void with this shoosh sound. it's almost like when you put your ear to a big seashell and listen... right when you first connect the sound processors magnet to the implants magnet there is this you can almost visualize the sound traveling through the wire. it gets louder and louder and wham! your ON! and the shock of being ON is always worse if you are say walking down the hallway and all the sudden walk into a room where the TV is on and you instantly connect there... (or the laundry room) or really any room where there is lots of noise going on. you get used to it but, that first instant is still a shocker. because, no matter what you imagine, I don't imagine it that Loud! :) I'm supposed to get "sprung" today to go in and pay the payroll taxes and Alice is gonna come by after work and volunteer to be an personal shopper so i guess i better get out of this robe and see if i have anything clean to wear i can fall asleep in... ( think I've just about worn all the sweats and work out clothes i own this week) :) might even do some laundry. any which way I'd rather be dressed before someone comes by so i will write more later. this is day 4. good news is i don't think i have the dizzy thing (that was the "risk", some people when they get a second implant get very dizzy with it) going on but i cannot bend over yet. so we'll see i guess.

Tim's Birthday

A little something I put together for Tim's birthday. He doesnt actually have this yet, told him i made it and i hid it before the surgery.... have not found where i hid it yet. ( I know its upstairs but, maybe today i will make it up there to find it)

this time

So, this time around the surgery seemed to be a little easier. maybe because i knew what to expect but, there were also differences because i had a different team of anasiaologists then the first time and this pair i think what may have happened is scrapped that tube inside my throat really badly. (this is kinda graphic and yucky ~ you may not want to read any farther if your squeamish) but basically i have been gagging up blood and or bloody mucus ever since i woke up from the surgery and what woke me up was the pain in my throat. they also you know cut some muscle in your neck too, forgot about that one too, can't turn my head to the right and have to turn my whole body. so have some pain in my abdomen too. that has been constant. This is not an intolerable pain its just pain. but the pain pills knock me out so this would be a good thing if i could get more then one hours worth of sleep at a time. the cat has this flop over on all his weight thing he does and has now done this twice to me (on my ear that is still has the dressing on it) and that is an rude awakening. but when i am awake i am alert. and this is good. but the pills seem to be kicking in again so am probably going to fall asleep again soon. have to make a note to myself to buy a spare battery and charger cord for the laptop that can stay it its bag.. got some happy PIF mail while we were gone too, will work on posting thank-you's later this afternoon maybe after the mail comes today so only have to do it once...

Peaches and Cream snowmen?

Probably not the most normal colors for something like this image but, i received a lot of these from the pif swap because it was small enough to go onto 1/3 sized sheets so way back when I was coloring them i did each of the ones i did color differently and this once caught my attention this morning. the image is from Impression Obsession and was stamped by jknorp. (thanks Janet!) Its colored with prisma pencils and outlined with an gelly roll glaze stardust pen. the blush blossom mat and that pale green (trying to think its an su one) but mind is blank maybe river rock? the mini brads are from Lasting Impressions and have an matt finish to them. the green netting is from my Valentines box (thanks Alison!) the sheer peach tied to it is unknown. the pp is from Basic Grey and the cream under that was punched with an Martha Stewart double scallop border punch and i added some Liquid Pearls to the scallops. the Cardbase is Blush Blossom and 4 1/2 X 6" in real life.
An dimension shot... the bling on the mug did not come through today... ah well maybe the next one.

another secret Jester project

I have to get this box ready to mail this week... so its going to arrive early and since i found a couple more things to put into it this morning, it have to get a bigger box too... :) this is an close up of the gift tag, the ink and cardstock info is on the back side of that tag, then the stamp image names are written on the back of the cardstock.
This is an GinaK. Large card box, and i found something neat to me when i made the band wrapper for it yesterday. I hate to measure things. ( they never turn out right) so what i did was put strips of the bling bazzill cardstock on top of my score pal and set the box in the center and scored around it that way. worked like a charm. I think that score pal was one of the smarter things i have ever bought for my room. I use this every time i make a card. so that was neat to me. The Mask is from Stampendous and its stamped on Neenah Solar white 110# and colored with bic mark-its and outlined with gelly roll glaze pens. the gold bumpy tag under it's from the Martha Stewart line at M's ( half the package is gold half is white) the ribbons unknown. the gold cords from SU (the newer styled elastic kind) so have some cards that need photographed but, they are drip drying so maybe later. maybe tomorrow. :)
hope your enjoying this day!

Valentines day gifts...

Okay so its not roses... but, it IS even better. think i can see almost every rose bush we have from that window's view. (it will sit behind/over) the washer and dryer in the laundry room. that garden window is 4 foot wide and 3 feet tall. (and was one heavy monster to hold up. ask me how i know that one eh? ) never again, luckily by the time we get to the kitchen side of the house the garden window that will go in on that side will be much smaller!... :)
This amazing card is from ThatOtherSharon! Thanks Chicky! You always amaze me with these shaped cards and this is no exception...
This darling card came to me from Oregonstamper! Thanks Kitty! I have some of these images to play with and i love the colors with him!!
these pink bees are from Stampin' Meg. Love them its kind of funny to me how changing the colors of things makes them seasonal. I would never have thought of this. :)
Now this next bunch of photos including the darling card above are all from Alison (NewStampinAddict) from the PIF secret cupid swap. we got to open our boxes Friday night and so today was the first chance i had to photograph the loot and ink up the stamps... :) This is one of my favorite Elisabeth Bell designs and not only did she use it on the reveal card but, also on an beribboned book marker... :)
An close - up peek at the altered wall plaque in my most favoritest colors! :)
loot. :) made out alike a bandit this year... Thanks so much!!

Mardi Gras Revel card

found this stampendous masked invitation stamp in an clearance bin and thought ah ha you could use this for the revel card... ( its 5X7 )and bling it on is the watch word... lol the green and purple are bling bazzill cardstock, (funny thing that is one sided though the bling so the inside of the card is normal green no shimmer) the Mask panel and purple were die cut with nestibilities mega curvy rectangle dies, the ribbon is unknown, the buttons were from one of those assortment packs (found in all the craft and fabric stores)
outlined all the edges of the mask image with gelly roll pens... the sentiments from SU (fancy flexible phrases) these were stamped with Memento tuxedo black on Neenah solar white 110# and colored with bic mark-it pens.

Still in Love with Penny Black...

funny thing i tend to start these posts with "this one" well this image is actually Named "this one", so this one is Tim's v-day card. its 5X7 the center of the prima flowers is an vintage button. its 5X7 in real life.
This one came to me via the PIF threads and i tend to color the cute ones (at least one out of the envelope right off the bat, but Ive had this one colored a while and i no longer remember the details)
This ones called sending you love and since I'm seeing Alice this afternoon its safe to post haha.
This ones called hook line and sinker and came to me from Stampermom23boys ( Thanks Carrie!) its i potentially Tim's B-day card unless i come up with something i like better between now and then trying to get things done and organized before i have my ear done.
(which will be 3 days before his next birthday)
the hook up date will happen on St. Paddy's Day. :)
that's about it for now, may edit this later for details if i get questions...

this weekends cards

This was done for Jason ( one of the guys at work who always always says the frosting is the best part!) and his birthday is coming up later this week... when asked what he wanted (cake flavor ) for his birthday the response came back a big thick layer of custard with frosting on top. (sweetest kind) lol oooh to have a metabolism like that eh? (this is a comment made by a man in his 30's! which makes me laugh because Ive always thought the frosting is too sweet and scrape it off my cake when no ones looking. Stamping Bella "fix-afella" stamped with memento Tuxedo black on Neenah 80# classic Cream, colored with copic and bic markers. the sentiments from Inkadinkado. ( i did trim what ever kids name was under it as the quote by so it would fit better on this card) the printed papers from K& Co. ( an walmart pad from a few years ago, the blue mats are SU Baja Breeze, the textured tan is Bazzill, the mini brads are tiny silver Karen foster screws. this is 5X7 in real life.
now this was another just messing around card. Pink overload... ;)
the stipple orchid was stamped with SU Chocolate Chip classic dye ink on neenah 80# Classic cream, then colored with prisma pencils then blended with an Prisma colorless blender marker. ( which is an interesting thing, someone mentioned that they could use their copic markers with their su black ink pad... so i thought what the heck lets give it a whirl...) the green top note die cut is from the PIF thread (thanks Donna!) I have given myself permission to start using the hoard i have of these cuttings since I ordered the die for my self... :) the pink textured pp is from either Provo craft or that big pack they had at costco a few years ago. the plaid pp is from Imagination Project. The sentiments from the SU set Sincere salutations the ribbon and buttons are from Making Memories. this is 5X7 in real life.

another little something for my secret jester

I have not been seeing this kind of thing in the galleries lately so crossing my fingers that the lady i have for my secret jester in the Wish Rak Mardi Gras exchange will like this... they are half sheets of card stock with Distress and dye inks on them.
I tend to use my ranger pads for this but, any water based ink pad will work, its just with these the lids come completely off and the pads are raised so they are easier to work with that way. i just pat the pad on an craft sheet. ( used to use aluminum foil from the kitchen cupboard) and pat the pad on it, then mist it with water, then set the cardstock sheet on that and then set it aside to let it dry...
so, they can be over stamped later or used like textured printed paper what ever, i tend to die cut the scraps... so anyways, hopefully she will like this, the lace is vintage.

Our Michaels Store Opened...

Yesterday, so i did drag myself into it before i went grocery shopping. Its small. probably half the size of the one in Kiezer and even smaller then the Medford store. ( which is kinda funny when you think its a brand new building but, this is Kfalls afterall). only thing i bought was an Martha Stewart Arch Lattice border punch. So late in the afternoon after a few naps and much tylenol tossed these together with some PIF images i had already colored... I get emails from time to time about PIF (its an swap thread at splitcoast stampers called pay-it-forward) you can find the current round here---->PIF 68 This is an Penny Black image called "Hook, Line and Sinker" it came to me via the PIF threads from Stampermom23boys ( Thanks Carrie!) Its colored with prisma pencils, the mat is creamy carmel and the peach texture is bazzill, the pp is Basic Grey from the bittersweet pad. the sheer ribbon is unknown, the ribbon curled tag is from MM, the punch used on the creamy carmel scrap is from Martha Stewart Arch Lattice (border), the cardbase is Blush Blossom and this ones 5X6 in real life.
This one is also an pif image and came together mostly because i had scraps on the table from the cardabove. this ones 5X7 in real life the textured tan and green are bazzill, the green sheer/satin is from Offray and the minibrads are unknown. This is an House mouse image called "this eggs for you" it came to me via the PIF threads also from Carrie! Thanks so much!! I've caught someones cold so, this is it for now. have a good day! no word from the gal that schedules the surgeons time yet...
