Another Graduation Card

another trial card... :) this adorable hedgehog came to me as an image trade from AJITZI ( thanks Mimi!) Its colored with prisma pencils, the sentiments ( Hero Arts ) is stamped with versafine on the Bazzill textured cardstock the stitching does not go through to the inside of the card and this is 5X7 in real life.
Wasn't really sure what color these critters are in real life, but I'm guessing this could be close? This is actually two images colored similarly and popped up on foam dimensionals.

Memorial Day...

After i finished each of the other 11 challenges i did this second honor the troops challenge card for my nephew. We had been told he would be getting out of the Army this summer. but, the Army has other plans for him and he will be deployed to Iraq for his third tour there in August...
the first 11 challenge cards i did sunday afternoon and monday morning.
something that makes it almost possible for me to get them done in that short of a time is keeping a tin of already colored images. when i color at night this is where i put them in the morning... keep stamped backgrounds and cuttlebug quarters in here too.
mess after 11 cards
this was done for the fall /Thanksgiving challenge, I have never made a wish for an Thanksgiving anything. one thing this day of challenges has taught me is I should be making more wishes... lol...
this was the last card i did, i was so blind by the time i go to this one, it was called bling it on. this is just a little like lunchbox sized note card.
This was for the be a buddy challange.
This was for the childs birthday card challenge (and had to use red or blue) I almost didnt think i would find anything in my stash for this either but... :)
this was my first go around with the Honor the troops challenge. trimmed the mice too close to them so then had to cut them out to save the (already colored image)
This was for an sketch layout challenge. this set is so cool, I really think i need to add it to my collection. so its such a cool thing to be able to wish for all the images you have them ideas about.
... hope you all had a good weekend. :)

So Far Today...

these mice were an rak image that is colored with prisma pencils... ( this ones from last saturday as is the girls below)
something from saturday, did this it was the only diva i have that i had not made a card with yet so... sentiments from the dollar bin at michaels.
This is the sample card i did for the challenge i hosted for the wish rak Memorial day challenges. Theme for this challenge is love ( wedding anniversary) in the color combo of pretty in pink, certainly celery and chocolate chip.
this was done for the wishrak christmas cards for the troops challenge. I have never wished for any thing Christmas... so, seeing that it needed to be done in Patriotic colors i think this works.
Going to give this one to DH's dad for fathers day... write something like happy dads day to the king of the grill on the inside. this was for the wishrak fun in the sun challenge.
had to shut it all down during the middle of the day during the storms...
Last week we had record breaking 90 degree days for 3 days in a row...
Had to shut the puters down a while ago... lost the broadband and the power started flickering with the lightning... looks like its passing now though.
oh I have a paper bin, and we are having ownership of whats inthat basket issues... that is an empty box... every time i toss it in the bin Grace steals it...
Thanks for this challenge Patti, i have been hoarding this long time friend image i received from Artsylori ( Thanks Lori!) its colored with prisma pencils, the printed paper ( stripes) is from Scenic route ( beach house) the textured cardstocks are bazzill, the hemp string is from Wal Mart, this is 6 inches square in real life. tfl.
this wish rak image came to me from tackertwosome ( Thanks Lena!) its colored with prisma pencils, the blue mat is soft sky the textured blue mat is bazzill, the printed paper background is from over the moon press, the cardbase is die cuts with a view. this card is a-2 in size, the ribbon and brads are unknown. thanks for this challenge Sunnie, tfl.
this bikababeabella image came to me via wish rak from DELES ( thanks Deb !) she's colored with prisma pencils, the pp mat is from over the moon press, the card base is soft sky, the ribbon is may arts. the sentiments stamped with soft sky ink. this is 4.5X6 in real life. this card was done for the wish rak featured stamper Qvande challenge.this is the card of Sue's that i chose to case:http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/355739?cat=500&ppuser=45000&perpage=96&si=qvandethe changes i made are, the blue is a different colors, the paper strip was changed to an ribbon, the mat on the circled was switched from plain to scalloped. Thanks Sue for being such an inspiration!tfl.

Just a few things

Its kinda subtle but there is some sakura gellyroll stardust pen lining the whites of his eyes... I traded for this image to play with from LMcAree. ( Thanks Lori) Tim has suggested i color a second owl (same colors) and then pop dot the cut out. its also been suggested to switch out the ribbon for twine ( for a guy card) this is 5X7 in real life.
the owl ( Cornish Heritage Farms) is colored with Prisma Pencils and the Congratulations is from Hero Arts. the polka dot pp is from K & Co. and the ribbon is May arts...
Just messing around, sunflowers is from Lockhart ( Ive stamped this a zillion times for RAKs but, never made anything with it until now) the sentiments from Hero Arts, the stripe pp is basic grey ( i think from the scrap bin) yellow texture cardstock is bazzill. ric-rac is unknown the cardbase is true thyme. ( boy am i gonna cry when i use up the last of that haha)
Just another scrap project, the ornaments from Impression Obsession and the sentiments from Stampin Up.

MOre blue yellow and orange combos

Its really funny to me how striking i am finding these colors... I don't usually do blue... or orange or even much yellow... :) Image and sentiment are over stamped with India Ink Black on an Alcohol Ink background done on SU glossy white. the yellow texture is bazzill, the blue lace is from the embellishment studio. used an su spiral punch across the top of the blue mat. this ones 4X6 in real life.
Impression Obsession stainglass fish is stamped on two transperancy sheets with glitter to color the inside of the "window) the thing if you use loose dry glitter is to start with the lightest color of glitter and then let it dry before you start a second color, so this one has some dry glitter and some stickles ( to speed up the waiting time) This is 6 inches square in real life.
hope it cools off soon, its been 90 here for the last three days in a row...

Color Challenge Card with Swap Image

This months mystery challenge host is Barb, and she chose a color combo of Navy, Orange and Yellow... this main image came to me from Jennifer's recent image swap and so there are two of them colored the same (with prisma pencils) they are both on popdots, ( second image is just the flowers) the ribbons from May Arts and this one is A-2 in real life. It got warm in a hurry here... It was 78 degrees before noon when we got home from work, and now its currently 88... and Tim is bringing home the first huge truckload of fertilized compost... I am not doing well with this sudden heat and the idea of going to go shovel for an hour in it doesn't have the same kind of thrill it does when its 60 something...

5.14.2008

a long time no posts...

the weathers been mostly mild so, when i have been inside i have been stamping images for the pay it forward swap at splitcoast... Which is where i received this bluebird (stamps happen) Ive wanted this for a long time, but the stamps from them are always seem to be a little on the spendy side so it was fun to find this on Stamp&Weaves List... ( Thanks so much!) This card is 4 1/2" X 6 " in real life, the sentiments from A Muse. The cardbase is soft sky, the natural cardstock was run through the stylized flowers embossing folder. the darker blue mat (textured) is DCWV.
I think i got the colors right, not sure on breast feathers but probably close. (we don't have many true blue birds in town, mostly blue jays) with 9 bird feeders in the yard it really shocked me since the last time I had my sound processor adjusted just how noisy these birds really are.
I know your laughing at that one too...
So a few years ago i had the bright idea i would systematically make a zillion Christmas cards exactly the same... I got way burned out before i got to the end of the pile of cardstock i had cut up for that venture... so a few months ago i stamped the PSX peace on earth image and cut and color dusted the edges... but its a pain to color... so i thought it doesn't look half bad uncolored. and i am putting all 31 of them into my cards for the troops donations box instead of tossing them...
Speaking of tossing them, i am on a waste cardstock record levels set week. this one was done, it was made me happy to view it, an it now has coffee spilled on it. so i tried to save it by color dusting some antique linen distress on the edges of the main panel but... no dice, i can still pick out the coffee first...
So, now i am starting over from scratch with her... Does anyone know if the part around her boot on the foot rest is supposed to be colored? I'm thinking it should be open...
this view shows the bling of the stardust gelly roll pen. ah well i have a month to get this right. wanted it for my Aunts birthday ( shhh she's 50+ and has a blue Harley) I ordered this stamp today (along with lattebella) but, it will be a month before i see them, they are made in Canada. This Image came to me via wish rak at split coast... :)

last weekends projects

Testing a new to me cardstock this white in this card is from Neenah papers and its called solar white classic crest smooth 80#. for an 80# cardstock it does not feel flimsy. this was stamped with dye ink (su eggplant envy and old olive markers) and the ink did not sink into the cardstock and become faded. its a little smooth to the touch. ( haven't tried a versafine on it yet) the textured cardstocks are bazzill. the agapanthus cluster is from Stampendous. with a A Muse Sentiment. The mini brads are from imaginice (mistletoe) with May Arts ribbon.
Now this is the first time i have ever done this, stamped a layer for the inside... the sentiment i found at Joann's last week (will wonders never cease) and the Flower is from Purple Onion Designs.
Now this stinkin cute bella (lattebella) has just gone to the top of my wish list for Bella's... :) I received her from Hobbywoman via the pay it forward image swapping thread at splitcoast. ( Thanks Julie!) She is colored with prisma pencils. the dot pp is from Basic Grey (one of the 6 inch pads) Blue shimmer cardstock is from Stardream. the sentiments from SU (like it a latte set) The paper flowers are all from Prima. This is A-2 in real life.
I have been playing in something called a pay it forward swap. (at splitcoast stampers) and the way it works is someone hosts the thread and posts a list of her stamps (with clicking links to the image) then someone else comes along and snags an image from her list, and then posts her list for the next person to snag from... ( in a week and a couple days i have snagged 19 envelopes of images... ( which is so much fun to open them when they arrive in the mail) so, my little altered tin, and the bag in the house have become stuffed to the seams and I have moved the uncolored images to a stationary box and made up more categories. then moved images i have already colored and my quarters of cuttlebug embossed cardstock to the cute tin i did last summer.
( rumor is this PIF addiction could spread to two or three boxes lol)
this is a link to the current swap. the nice thing about it is I recognize a bunch of the players from Wish Rak and Cards for Heroes posts...
(come check it out) there's a lot of chatter in between snags. its currently on the 31st round of the swap.

Happy Mothers Day!

What else that came with it... ( two are on back order so i stuck the two i bought a few weeks ago with the blender into the photo too...)
Hope your mom's day was very sweet also!

Thought i posted this one the other day... oops its upstairs though so I will figure out the deets later and edit this post with recipe stuff then...

Color Challenge Combo 9 Samples

This image is from Stampa Rosa ( Pure Bliss ) House mouse, stamped with versafine ink on gp110 white. and colored with prisma pencils. the textured cardstocks are Bazzill, the yellow is barely banana. The yellow pp strip is from Karen Foster. the ribbon came from walmarts cutting dept. years ago. the photo corners were done with the EK Success whale of a punch. The sentiments from SU (so many sayings) and was colored with the perfect plum marker. this is 6 inches square in real life. This months Colors are Purple, Yellow with a smattering of Green. this challenge is open for a month.
just a simple one, the cardbase is shimmer purple cardstock ( not stardream but package sheet is upstairs will edit this later) the mouse came to me via wish rak from peebsmama ( Thanks Susan!) and Ive colored it with prisma pencils. I punched it with the giga punch then trimmed it smaller to fit onto the giga scallop punch done in barely banana cardstock. the trim is from May Arts and the Sentiments from SU and stamped with elegant eggplant on the barely banana. the mat of this is a pale green speckled pp scrap. these are up on pop dots.
A closer look at that mouse.. ( its teeny tiny ) and oh so sweet...
have a good day!
