 So a week or so ago I did a search on Amazon for a maidenhair fern stamp, and surprise they actually had one being sold by a co. called Beeswax stamps but, it was on a wood block so, I decided to google them and see if they were still making stamps and such and I found that they are. and you can get the rubber all three ways, blank, with cling foam or with a wood block. so, I ended up poking around in the site and found a few more leaves and some stepping stones to toss in the cart with it but, the fun thing for me was it was shipped in this tiny little box. ( its really cute) and I guess I have gotten used to things arriving in padded envelopes because, the box tickled me almost as much as the stamps do.
 I am "this close" to being done with sorting those stamps I have been unmounting the last few years and this weekend I did not feel like cutting up those last few sheets yet but, I did make some divider cards ( laminated soft seafoam cardstocks) and this was two packs plus of it so, I will need to buy some more sooner or later. ( I love this color it is nearly a match for Johnson's brothers greendawn china)
at any rate I am feeling pretty good about this, moved the desk I color at into that same corner tucked behind the wall that the stairs are on and moved an tiny book shelf that holds suitcases with completed cards in it back to the other tucked in side of the table I stamp on.  Which is right at the top of the stairs, so if I were to sit in that chair with it pulled out there you bet everyone wanted to come up and down the stairs So, I am hoping this will be a little more peaceful out of the traffic path. I did make one card with some of those Eucalyptus leaves and it can be seen here. That's about it from me, hope you are all doing well & thanks for stopping by.

So last week I showed you a stack of 17 sheets of foam covered with stamps ripped off the blocks. ( I decided that would be my UFO for this weeks 11 YEARS anniversary of What's on your Wednesday Workdesk challenge post ) and Saturday I spent pretty much all day cutting them out. and I had stamped off two sheets ( which are half the size and said to my self you should take a photo of what that translates to cut up) so this is missing a few stamps but not many.

by Sunday Evening this was how many sheets were considered "done" and my usual is to put them away where they go by theme and then I said I wonder how many sheets this is going to be when its done so I left them in this container.

this is also Sunday evening these were all stamped and the sheets were laminated but, I did not get the stamps moved to the sheets and "done"

So basically this many stamps remained at the end of the day to come home to on Monday after work.
(and I had to stop stamping and chop up and round the corners on more half sheets for them) ( its just plain cheap 110# white card stock from a US chain store Joann's fabrics) so, its really toothy and not as smooth as Neenah and good enough for this project.

and this is Tuesday night after dinner. and the total ended up being all these sheets here ( the one on the top outside that stamp the foam did not want to come off of the rubber and hubs decided to help me and took it to the garage and used shoot not acetone something ( something horribly smelly) to remove that foam and its still fragrant and that sheet is headed back out of the space for a while.

So, I am leaving you with that same drawer I showed you last week. this is mainly flower stamps, a few garden scene stamps but, the majority is flowers. the iris project cases in the front are PSX botanical stamps and the ones towards the back are garden things. Foods and Veggies and such.
The intention is to get the boxes writing cleaned off of them because I re-arranged things so many times and then get their forever labels on them. ( It really gets old to open these boxes box after box for an hour looking for something.) the fingers walking through a bin of sheets is making me much happier. That's about it from me, I hope you are all doing well. Thanks for stopping by.

So, there is a VSN going on now ( virtual stamp night) that went live last Friday and continued through saturday ( challenges loading one per hour) I think I am in the neighborhood of half-way through them... and I had such a mess going on because, I knew I had sentiments "ready to use" and they were loosely sorted into those sturdy plastic envelopes Sizzix uses for dies and I would end up taking them to the table and dumping them to dig and this went on and the frustration mounted so, yesterday after work ( I decided to re sort a little bit and label all those envelopes.) so, the cleaning is almost done and I think I can get back to the creating shortly. well, that's the plan anyways.

So, its not perfect but, it is better than it was so the hope is it will save a little hunting time down the road, in front of those envelopes are things that were made in batches like if someone through down a make a galaxy background challenge and I did a few sheets the extra's are in front of those envelopes. some are things I made just messing around. when I am doing something really ( inky) messy I tend to do more than one and dry them all at once everywhere I can find a flat surface, so there are some water colored things, heat embossed things, alcohol inked backgrounds that type of thing in there. Things are still OK here we do have the daily numbers of ill people being broadcast as the only thing that is news but, our numbers are not in the sky rocketing like NY numbers as we just do not have the population like that in the middle of nowhere. We've also been selling more dryice to the hospital & labs than normal so, I will be fetching new batches this week and next week. One of the more challenging parts is finding places with restrooms open. I packed my lunch and ate it in a parking lot in the truck last week. so far people are still trying hard to be encouraging to each other so that is really nice to see too. Hang in there & take care of yourselves, it may take me a while to make the rounds. & thanks for stopping by.

WOYWW # 383 {sequins, the saga}

Happy Wednesday Deskers. Today's mess is brought to you buy hoarders R us who used to go to estate sales and haul home sewing boxes of stuff... ( lots of them) lol If you'd like to play along with us, shoot a shot of what you are pushing around and link it up here at our hostess Julia's blog.

So, last weekend I was working on some samples for an upcoming Holiday Blitz tutorial for Splitcoaststampers and I needed "sequins" ( if you squint really hard those samples are actually in this shot) anyways, I knew I had sequins and such and they were all dumped in this one plastic tackle box in the closet so, the shot below gives you an idea of what it was like to open that box... the vintage sequins the plastic on them is brittle and it disintegrates when you touch it.

 Which was making me totally crazy. I hardly ever use these because, I don't like to open the box and dig, ( it doesn't bother me with textiles like ribbons and lace but for little bits I want to see them so, I started reorganizing this mess on Tuesday after work. because, the tutorial is really cool and useful to me so, I intend to make a stack of them for Christmas.

What I was doing was just moving them from broken bags to clear envelopes. I think this is just a temporary fix though that in the long run this plastic will break down too over time but, I have been eyeballing these storage containers on Amazon ( thinking maybe) ( well, I like to organize ) but, I have not ordered anything yet because, I really had no clue of how many colors I may have or how big of containers I may need. type of a thing. I think eventually I will get it together enough to know, right now I also have one vintage red suitcase holding seed beads ( just as messy as the sequins) and I have piles of confetti. and I will tell you if no one else will. ( confetti to me looks a great deal like flat sequins and its a lot cheaper too) so,that's whats going on here at the moment. thanks for stopping by :) by the way, I actually had this cleaned up before I went back down the stairs.
