Day 31 Hope you can cling to.

This is a closer look at the coloring of the card below its Lucille sends her love from the Uptown girls collection from Stamping Bella. she was backordered from an order I placed when the Seniorita's came out a while back and she just landed in my mail box and begged to be colored for Lynn's challenge.

This one is 5X7 in real life. I recently tinkered with lightroom's exporting settings to actually PRINT some photos of my son and I cannot remember what I had them at before but, now the photos of the cards are so large the watermarks are becoming microscopic on them haha... I'll figure it out eventually ( I hope ) there is a row of pop dots between the fancy tag diecuts on the sentiment.

This was my first card for Lynn's Hearts challenge seen here. It is also 5X7 in real life. funny true story about this particular image, I had long wanted this PSX stamp and my friend Lori (thanks chickie!!) won one before I did and she stamped me some of hers to play with while I waited to get lucky ( which I eventually did) and this was stamped on some really cool stuff called X-press it paper ( have to find some sometime) because, its like cutting butter the smoothness of coloring on it. I also have a card somewhere in the gallery done with pencils on this paper too. and its just as nice for them. in case you were curious.

This was done for Edna's group thank-you challenge seen here. This image from Penny Black Cluck!Quack! is colored with copic markers and this one is 6" square in real life. the stitching is only in the top layers as always so is not visible inside the card. the sentiment is from Hero Arts.

This was done for Lydia's second challenge seen here. when I read the words black and white I nearly always think of photograph's first. and I don't know if this will really fit in with the rest of the cards in my box but, who knows maybe someone will find a use for it. the cardbase was from a premade package of them and of course I don't have the packaging anymore but it has an offset gatefold and I closed it with vintage buttons and string. the button on the short flap is up on a pop dot. the wood camera I started to ink but, it was not absorbing the black in so rubbed some gelatos into the wood and that picked up the black pretty well. I don't know what team Walt would mean but, I went with green because, its one of my favorites. tfl.

Hope you can Cling to... {Day 30}

This one was done for Holly's Sparkling season challenge seen hereThis embossing enamel has gold glitter in it, so this is very blingy in person. The snowflake is from Outlines and the sentiment is from Stampendous. the pearls are from Kaiser, Martha Stewart and Basic grey. that printed paper is from MME.
This one is 6" square in real life.

10.29.2013

on the 29th day of Hope you can Cling to

This was done for Joyce's subway art challenge. although this is not true subway art I liked the mix of fonts on it and came across it in the ready to use sentiments drawer. ( its a Pinterest find from over a year ago will hunt for the link )
the papers are all scraps and unknown. tfl.

an Extra for Hope you can Cling to

Because, there is room in the box and was time to play... and a mug shot of the stuffed box will follow at the end of the month.

got this brand spankin new set in the mail from Unity "reach for the stars" on Saturday and had some time to play on sunday afternoon... she is colored with copic's gel pens, glitter pens etc.

a closer look at the coloring which is at the wrong angle to catch the bling.

This particular card is 5" X 7 " in real life, the blues panel under the gal is handmade ( by me ) paper ( years ago) did ya go through that phase? save ever scrap and make your own paper after... well I am one of those people who is in the been there done that group... been hoarding some of it too. this is a slightly larger than one quarter of that particular sheet so the hoarder in me is OK to let go of a piece of it. the base is not quite navy and the seambinding is from hug snug. tfl.

HYCCT Day 28

This was done for Judy's I clearly care challenge found here.
This was done with one of those clearbagsdotcom card boxes. I stamped the poppies on the one large side of the box ( 5") then colored it with copic markers ( slightly it's like playing with alcohol inks if you've done that) and its sticky when its done so, I cut the other side of the box to the same size and stuck them together with glue dots and so the ink is trapped in between layers of clear box. this is 6" square in real life.

an X-ray view of the layers before they were glued together... the white panel lines the backside of the stamped clear boxes layers. ( hides all the tape too)

10.27.2013

{day 27} HYCCT

 This was done for Kathleen's Vintage challenge. the birds hat was colored gold, and there is some gold tones through this but, its not a shiny metal type gold more subtle. this is 6" square in real life.

{day 26} Hope you can Cling to

a closer look at the coloring mediums

This was done for Lisa's mixed media challenge. In my head mixed media is not two ways to color something its more of a mixed textures kind of a thing, like say altering a glass bottle with old lace or something. so, there is a cropped shot of the image's coloring on the blog to show off the pencil, glitter and gel pens over the top of the copic coloring. see above haha yes, I am copy-ing and pasting these from the scs gallery every morning after the challenge goes live...This gal is from the Phyllis Harris Unity stamps set called too beautiful for earth and the sentiment is from the set called your wings.
tfl.

10.25.2013

{day 25} HYCCT

This was done for Dina's all ears challenge. I had colored this whippersnapper image because, I think bunnies have the largest ears and it looks like he is listening to the lady bug here. the sentiment is from the MFT set called choose hope whose that girl. the green paper is basic grey and the base is blush blossom.
 This one is 5" square in real life. tfl.

10.24.2013

Day 24 ~ Hope you can cling to

a closer look at the printed Elizabeth Edwards quote, this is something I came across on pinterest over a year ago as a free printable. you can download it here. and So I had printed out some and they have been sitting in the drawer or previously stamped and diecut sentiments and such ever since. I believe its Vereve who made this quote into a stamp ( and I do have that also) but, would have to double check on the mfg. to be certain. ( I know its a clear stamp)

This was done for Sherri's alter a notebook challenge seen here
This is an Co. Logo covered free gift notebook that was given to me at work recently.
 The kraft is really nice and thick and sturdy. I decided to cover the logo with a piece of Kraft that I had used as a blotter while I was staining shipping tags recently that after a while I smeared more stain on the craft mat and this was the result. The sentiment is not stamped. its a computer print out from pinterest, and I had run it through the Xyron sticker maker that I received as a free gift last year during HYCCT and had to peel it up and straighten it out. and I decided the crackled effect on the inking was cool and left it.
 this is about 6" x 7" in real life. tfl.

{Day 23} Impossible things happen

This was done for Paula's inspired by a fairytale challenge. was thinking some man could give it to his princess.  The frog prince image is from elyzybells ( UK size ) colored with copic markers and the sentiment is from rubber stampede. that ribbon is from May Arts and the fairytale paper is from DCWV. this is A-7 in real life,tfl.

Sending flowers for {Day 22}

This was done for Bev's sending flowers challenge, the cut out popped up bloom was heat embossed with pink powder then the marker was flicked over that and wiped off the embossing. Stamps are Fern Lace Background done in CTMH fawn ink over stamped with the stampendous! ruffled bloom in some color box chalk ink. ( its one of those stack things so the name is unknown) and then the popped up flower is heat embossed with some Pink Zing! powder and a waterbased marker was flicked over the petals and wiped off the embossed parts. this is 5 1/2" square in real life.

10.21.2013

Hope you can Cling to {Day 21}

a closer look at the globe, the background was done with shimmer sprays and then heat embossed in white powder. the trees were stamped twice on green scrap and a linen textured background stamp and paper pieced, the base was stamped on some kraft. tied off with a bit of raffia. the gingham is from K&Co.

This was done for Vanessa's inspired by Elvis challenge. I actually DO have some Elvis songs in my Ipod but, translating them to stamping would be a stretch haha, and then I remembered I have this snowglobe set from SU (and I have never ever used it ever) and the tree and the base are paper pieced onto the blue shimmer piece I made with sprays. the globe was heat embossed with white powder. this is funnily enough ( almost ) suo except the ginghamscrap.  So, this one is called "all shook up" bwahahaha.

HYCCT extra's { so far }

Had some free time today to just play... so, inbetween straightening up some of the mess that has been piling up also played with some new toys an made some extra's for the HYCCT box I have open and packed up mostly to go. I probably wont mail mine until Nov. as there is still room to squeak a few more into the box. This swan steamship is from Viva Las Vegas Stamps and the sentiment is from Unity Stamps. its 5X7 in real life.

I also have / had a pile of previously colored images on the table too so, that was pretty much how the rest of these cards fell together. this one the giraffe is from mostly animals and the sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

This heart diecut negative is a scrap from the fancy folds card from a week ago I guess, the gal is from ( I forgot have to look her up) I had colored her a while back, I think its fun to stick funny sentiments with her since she is so elegantly classy. in a Say What? kind of a way but, someone posted something with this sentiment in the HYCCT gallery so far this month and I had to have it. so, this stamp is the one that forced that shopping spree... ( oh yes, quite a few single stamps hopped in the cart with it)

the frame was colored with a gelato ( crayon?) stick, the sentiment is heat embossed on a previously stamped background.

this hedgie was rak'd to me years ago and I colored it with copic's and added in the IO sentiment.

now this, I think I will still put into the box, last year there actually WAS a cupcake challenge and I don't think I have ever paired this particular cupcake with this particular sentiment but, had it laying around colored to do daisy stuff for the store... the green base on this one is a shimmer cardstock, the cupcake has stardust gel pen work on it too.

HYCCT day 20

This was done for Kelli's Kissing Kindness Challenge seen here. I don't actually enjoy solid stamps very much and have been slowly weeding those stamps out of my collection but, I did hang on to this big blossom background so used the polka dots background for the texture of the Kissing technique. This shipping tag was previously stained and I color dusted some rusty hinge distress over that and the orange of the bloom and the sentiment is Versafine Habanero. the gingham brad is K&Co. or MME but, the solid brown brad is unknown. This one is 5X7 in real life.

10.19.2013

on the 19th day of Hope you can Cling to

This was done for Kittie's serene scene challenge. The PSX stamp I have never made anything with it before, its one of those on the wall "ART" stamps in my space, but I think it is pretty peaceful so attempted to color it with Copic's and a white gel pen. the tag was previously stained ( forgot its color name off hand) and the brownshimmer paper is unmarked so, that panel is up on pop dots. This one is 5 1/2" square in real life.

Day 18

On Day 18 is Jennifer's brave boots challenge. ( put your brave girl boots on) This version of Carrie from rubber romance is just colored with copic markers. the sentiment is from My Favorite Things, the fabric jeweled brad is from K & Co. as is the gingham paper.

10.17.2013

{day 17} HYCCT

This was done for Teresa's Stand Tall Challenge. the hat was stamped, colored and cut out. the mini cherry lynn die cuts were rak'd to me from my friend Janice ( thanks Chickie!) she says they are easier to cut than the larger version ( which I have ) these are on my wish list for someday. this is 3 1/2" x 6 " in real life.

This one was done with the scrap cut from the first card for Teresa's challenge with some other scraps on the table and odds and ends. So, its my second one for this challenge and hopefully it still fits since it went horizontal.

10.16.2013

Hope you can cling to Day 16

This was done for Bev's pocked full of hope challenge seen here.
I did this one before I seen the add in some Orange, I can do another one but had the pieces cut for this and the tag pulls out of the pocket to tuck a note and or a gift card into.
( so, it's cute and in the box to mail already) This is A-6 in real life. the buttons are vintage, the button card stamp is from PTI. the printed paper is from Basic Grey. the base is a pink shimmer cardstock from stardream.

Day 15 {continuted}

You may have noticed the first challenge of today had an A on the end of it, so surprise! there is a second one today at the half-way point. This is the "Kid Challenge" and it was a  challenge to send fuzzy warm hugs using a huggable type critter on your project. I am hosting this one and you can read the details here. The girl and her dog are from lili of the valley and colored with copic markers on neenah.  This one is 5X7 in real life, the die cuts with a view printed paper is fuzzy to the touch.  The sentiment is from SU but, I've forgotten it's set name.

{Day 15} Hope You can Cling to

This was done for Patricia's sunburst/ray challenge, the edges were inked with some whale gray chalk ink but, I could not figure out how exactly to lay them down so both sides peeked out and finally gave up and just glued it. I think if I do this again I will sew all the rays down for texture. but, I do like how this turned out, thanks for this challenge! & tfl.

a closer look at the glitter, pearls and rhinestones

This was done for the blingtastic challenge from Donna. there are rhinestones, glitter and liquid pearls on this fairy. Faerie song art stamps Kyra, My Favorite Things sentiment
( she was rak'd to me a few years ago via Wish Rak and I no longer remember who sent her sorry. (and thanks!)

10.13.2013

Day 13

This was done for Tenia's Washi tape background challenge. these tapes are fabric. so cutting them with the pinking sheers just seemed fitting. the pink paperclip was a gift years ago and the felt heart button was found on etsy a while back from a seller called frogfeathers ( with a name like that how can you resist checking it out right?) :) the ric rac is vintage, the shipping tag was stained with some spun sugar distress stain, the sentiment's from SU. this one is A-2 in real life.

10.12.2013

{day 12} HYCCT

a closer look, the doily is heat embossed on gold shimmery vellum for Patty's the colors of Oct. Birthstone Opals challenge. you can read the details for that here. As someone with an Oct. birthday I have never considered anything but, Opals as "real" the pink stones became "alternate" birthstones sometime when I was growing up, and I remember ( this is a funny thing for someone who likes PINK) thinking they just looked fake. ( and I have always thought that)

the bloom is from wild orchid crafts, the happiness is from the background stamp with that name from su , its also heat embossed but on some baked brown sugar and up on pop dots. the yellow lace is vintage. This one is 5" square in real life.

10.11.2013

on the eleventh day of Hope you can Cling to

This was done for Ardyth's challenge of peace and quiet. I think this mouse looks like he has found both. this is a tiny little A-2 card so it ended up being on the CAS side.

10.10.2013

{Day 10}

This was done for Angela's challenge and I think this is the most inspiring words stamp I own. this is that new Pistachio Color ( swoon ) and a little CAS but, I think it lets the words shine that way. The sentiment is from Tim Holtz ( stampers anonymous) it does not have a name on the block but, rather a number J3-1099. the embossing folder is from crafts concepts "budding vine". This one is A-6 in real life.

10.09.2013

On the 9th day of Hope you can Cling to

This was done for Rebecca's steel challenge, that foil label is how they used to package ribbons... and I hoard such things, so figured this was a good cause to let one go. I will have to see if I can get a closer shot of the label to stick on the blog later, its kinda cool. part of it even says made in the USA ( how rare is that anymore right?) tfl.

Undercover Heart {Day 8}

a closer look at the front cover.

front cover closed. this was done for Sabrina's under covers challenge seen here

This fold is called a Swinging Z fold and its tutorial hides here.

the idea was to have the sentiment ( tim holtz words for thoughts) hidden under a flap or fancy fold. so this is heat embossed on the basic grey inside. this is 6" square in real life. so I did alter the tutorial to suit that score lines are at 6" and on one of the 6" wings again in the center for a 3" side ( from a 6" X 12" piece of  cardbase)
