 Some more eBay loot, these all came from the same seller as they do a flat rate shipping if you buy 5 auctions from them. The snoopy stamps were sealed and on foam blocks which I promptly removed from the foam and tossed the ink pad and then carried everything up the stairs. Opps. I knew how big the outside of the box was so, I was hopeful the stamps would be slightly larger than they are but, they are still cute. Since these two photos were shot I have cleared off the table and mounted all these to cling foam. 

What my desk looked like when I arrived home from work on Tuesday. I had spent some time on Monday embossing new embossing folders and die cutting a few things from scraps and I had intended to come back up after dinner and do a few more but, it never happened. You'll note this newest coffee mug proclaims the most accurate thing about me on a mug I own lol. I have been so hopeful every time they talk about how many people are vaccinated now that travel would start up again but, along with those stories they are also showing people going flippin crazy on the planes and attacking each other (over mask wearing of course) and the people working on them. So, at this point I have not made any plans to travel although I would seriously love to go and see family you know? The hanging in there part is getting to me, I think I am going to stop watching the news. and I am OK with that plan but, hubs keeps turning it on.  Happy Wednesday people & stay safe out there.

Leafy Tags Inspired By {Elle Decor}

 This week found us looking at the Elle Decor pinterest boards and I came across this shot of greenery tied on packages which I loved. And I fully intended to do layers of papers on my tags to make them look more tied together but, life happened and they ended up looking a little CAS once finished. I did hear from the lady who organizes the Craft bazaar I do in November at the school and they are very hopeful it will hold this coming fall as restrictions continue to be lifted. So, I did tell her I intended to hold mine and would get busy making things.

The kraft tags are size 8 ones from Ranger. there is a bit of Hemp string tied on and the sentiments are both from Impression Obsession with Versafine Clair Pinecone ink. That's about it from me, thanks for stopping by.

Tuesday after work views. The piece I chose for the IC sample I have yet to make involves leaves, so I was practicing some. ( they are in the a little too big stage at the moment, so trying different brushes too on scraps. Might try smaller brushes today after work. last night in the kitchen I tried the smallest Mop brush I have and that really holds a lot of water, and so far is fun to use for making swirled petals type shapes.

The wooden die shelves (stamp n storage die desk die shelves) ( the unfinished wood ones next to the window) arrived on Monday night, so far so good. ( this is two desk units stacked) I have not made a decision yet if I should paint them and or have hubs do some bracket type thing between them so that they stay together. These are about 1 inch off the edge of the file cabinet because, I am thinking its not a great idea to shove the green one up against the roof on the other side. With only 3 dies in each shelf it is much easier to get the one you want to use out than shifting all the piles. I probably could move some of the yellow and green dies to it, but the chances of me buying a few more dies is probably on the sooner or later list so, I think I will leave the space in it for now. ( the smaller original thickness dies are all in the top drawer of that baby dresser I shoot on under the window)

It will probably look more like this is reality under the towels and table cloths ( dust catchers) I can still see the words on the ends of the dies and slide them out around the paints and sprays and scraps ( whats in the old sewing drawers.) I think that is why I have not decided to paint them as of yet as I never got around to painting those sewing drawers either. ( they did spend some time in a sand blaster at work to remove a lot of layers of paint out of the crevices when I rescued them from a yard sale. (the fourth is in the closet with something else ( forgot what ) in it. 

In Other news, they started lifting mask mandates here if you are fully vaccinated for say shopping indoors but, so far I have not been anywhere to see if it is working and or how. I probably will keep mine on for a while longer as I really think people have a better chance of catching junk at the store than anywhere else. It turned into a catch-all the last few days, when I hauled the newest round of happiness upstairs. I ended up doing a seashell watercolor card late on Sunday and that is all still out along with happy mail from Monday and Tuesday. 

the unboxed view. the older stamps in the corner are eBay finds, the embossing folders are from Anna Griffin ( bought direct from her online store) oh, and that folder on the top is a smaller scale than the original A2 folder and crazy people are selling that one folder for just under 60.00 on ebay, ( which is what made me go look at her site because, I did not remember the long tall shape) and it is sold in a pack with the 3 below it for 25. Yay for me, if you are interested the link is here. The top right corner is the Hero Arts May kit with an add on of those sea shell dies on the top, the kit also has dies but, they are shrink wrapped to the back of the stamp set. 

and those paint brushes. are from DS for Mothers Day. He talked me around into sharing an Amazon wish list with him last week and evidently he bought some of the brushes on it, one more arrived late last night after this was shot.  Sneaky right? but, very sweet. :)
 

This is the card that is laying on the table in the first shot, the seashells are from D. Morgans line at Stamps Happen ( eBay) and the sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! set called Friends are like seashells. This was jump started by this pretty card with a trio of seashells in Pat's gallery at SCS as she is featured stamper this week.

Doodle watercolored birds

 This week the Try a new technique challenge is headed to an Amber K video of water coloring doodle birds.

A few of the birds done on watercolor scraps Saturday afternoon. I did turn the bottom one into a card. I did use the Mungyo watercolors as I had them out for another project, ( yes, I am actually doing next weeks IC sample ahead of Friday afternoon) and was using this set because of the purples. I think the silliness of these chicks lends it self to snarky comments easily but, I decided to do one with these new to me ones from SU on the one below.

I am really tickled with these chicks but, hubs was less than impressed. I think he was not expecting to see a cartoon when I said want to see what I have been painting? ( eyebrows hit the hair line) lol The dotted paper really reminds me of Daisy D's but, it came out of the scrap bin as did the check so, not sure on the mfg for them. The happy birthday is from the Approaching Perfection SU set and the spring chick sentiment is from the Hey Birthday Chick set. This one finished out at A6 in real life. I did add lib on the tutorial and add some speckles of paint to the top of it when the birds bodies were drying. That's about it from me, thanks for stopping by.

Inspired by {Paper Fashion}

 Did you play with paper dolls? That is what the Inspiration made me think of when I seen Kia share it and I loved the sketchy look to these gowns seen here. And I told my self this would be an awesome mixed media piece.

And I knew in my head I had a rack of dresses from Unity Stamps May kit of the month 2014, and I told my self I could just ink the top of the dresses and leave the bottom of the stamp un inked so I could just whisp away the hemlines. and I ended up grabbing a Simon Says Stamp Beige pad and stamping it with that. ( the whole thing) the dresses are not really that big in real life. So, then I had the idea to trace over the inked impression with some polychromos pencils and it gave it a sketchy no line coloring outline but, I added the color to this with copic markers. and I tried to keep them sketchy flecks too. After that I added some stardust gelly roll pen to one dress and went over all of them with clear wink of stella.

The whole time I was working on this card the newest Distress color Salvaged Patina Oxide pad was sitting on the table a couple inches from this, So I stamped off this Inkadinkado Sentiment with some Versafine Clair warm breeze ink and then added some swipes of Salvaged Patina Oxide with an Aqua brush. The swirls of pearls are from Prima and turned out to be waaay too big for the scale of the gowns so, they became like fancy pins on an idea board. the woodgrain is printed paper and the photo corners are from Heidi Swapp. This one finished out at 5 1/2" square in real life.
