VSN {the Happy Edition} Mini

For the VSN ( Virtual Stamp Night ) Mini tonight the first challenge was issued by Lee who challenged us to make or create flowers not of paper and to not make a card... so, I rolled these felt roses from My Favorite things royal rose dies onto this Sizzix (pro die) Hanging bag die. ( I did run both pieces of this container through the big shot inside a cuttlebug folder ( mistletoe kisses) before I atttched them together with brads.

Knowing that I was making the container for Lee's challenge I decided for Ann's challenge that the complimentary card could be made to fit inside the container. so this is an extra felt flower. the trim is vintage and connects under the sentiment ( IO) this is stamped on the back ( smoother) side of the Bazzill and is up on pop dots. This is 4" square in real life.

a peek inside thinking there is room for a gift card and or a little treat inside here.

WOYWW #309 {Brusho's}

Happy Wednesday! Deskers the link up for this blog hop starts here at our hostess Julia's blog. (where you can see what everyone else playing along this week was up to)

I had received this in the mail on monday night and ( I did not make any time to play just carried the box up stairs and cut it open on tuesday. decided I should see what they do real quick with cold water after reading to use warm water because, there really wasn't that much time to play so, I grabbed a previously water colored with derwent art bars card front, sprayed it with cold water and stuck my fingers into that pot for the tiniest pinch of powder to "poof" over the water. it looked pretty cool for a minute or two then I picked up the card and the water ran which ever way it wanted to ( together) so. then I had more blue on my fingers than the wc card haha. so, I grabbed a baby wipe. didn't touch it, use the purell also no go. finally went in the house and soaked them in some dish water for a while to get rid of the smurf effect.
I did hit this with a heat gun after this shot too but, so far that is all that has happened. thinking about misting it again maybe tonight and adding some browns to it. and also thinking about what to use as a tool to pinch some powder ( thinking it will waste less of it if I don't have it covering my fingertips)
In the background is an charlie brown type tree stamp I found at a yard sale last weekend. with some sentiments I have used recently. ( a cuppa joe) , off to the left is a really cute old snowman die from sizzix (also from the yard sale) made a card using it but, have not posted it anywhere yet. towards the top is a SU butterfly diecut, June borrowed my dies and cut some for me while she was at it so, I left one out to remember to play with them. I think I am mostly OK with what I have made so far for the booth and I will most likely be doing gathering and such type things this next week.

Onsie Gift Tags

I know when you see the words "tag" it makes me think anyways that there should be something with some fiber and softness coming off of it somewhere... and I did not add strings to any of these. they are die cuts from the PTI onesie die (that you can make it a folded shaped card if you wanted to) but, these are all two complete cuts glued together for stability and do not open. sentiment on this one is from Avery Elle.

Not positive about this sentiment but, thinking SU. not sure what set though. Its hard to see but that button is a frog.

This eyelet paper is from Making Memories (and I have had it forever and a half) sentiment I think is from SU.

This paper is chatterbox and the sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

This paper is CTMH and the sentiment is Avery Elle.

this paper is bo bunny ( I think ) its double sided. and the sentiment is from IO. the MFT pierced fishtail die was used to cut it. not sure about those buttons but, most likely Joanns from before I bought vintage ones.

white on white wedding

Today Karin is the featured stamper. and I have been to her blog a few times in the last few months because she always puts the 3-d shots there... and so, being familiar with things she has made with the cool tole look. ( the House Mouse ones have 4 layers most of them) and feeling kinda lazy I spent a lot of time skimming every.single.page of her gallery at splitcoast this morning. and I was kinda torn between this one. and then I loved this one (because, I have some baby on the moon stamps) but, the thing that stuck in my mind most is I LOVED the bitty binkie charm... and so, I had put this rings charm on the table a week or two ago in hopes of being not such a hoarder... and it was tied on to this one. as one of the changes. So, all that being said if you find you are in need of some wedding ring charms... they can be found here at Impress.

another changes is its not circular. I do not have any dies that look like the ones I seen Karin use on any of her white on white cards but, I totally LOVED the circled one... so, the second change is I tied on this avery elle sentiment. It's stamped with versafine on the reverse side of the textured bazzill so the colors would match. This spellbinders die is something my friend at work June bought recently and she asked me if I wanted to borrow it... so I did, and I cut just this one. I picked the bazzill paper knowing it has had? who knows anymore plastic in it and I was hopeful that would help with removing it from the die. I used wax paper, I used a metal shim, ( I ran that thing through my big shot at least 8 times in every angle you can think of trying to get each side to cut all the way.) it was a lot of work. ( so this die cut has been sitting on the table for a week or two waiting for an Occasion knowing I only had the one and will probably not be buying this one for my self.

and diecut with an My Favorite things pierced fish tail die. the pearls in the blooms are all recollections and I have bought blooms from Prima, Close to my Heart and A Muse over the years ( and they are all in the same Jar so that covers those bases right?

This is A-7 in real life and in a clear box.

Saturday's Cards

The inspiration challenge heads to a store today and I had seen this silver bracelet before I ran out the door this morning for breakfast and the yard sales. so, this is what I came up with in my head while shopping. ( not much silver on it but, I am not that big of a fan of silver)
This sentiment came to me via the yardsale loot post from yesterday and the background stamp is a new one from SU called something lacy. they were both stamped with some Imperial Purple Versafine on some Neenah Solar white. the base is also from Neenah an Columns textured one and this is A-7 in real life.

The lure is from Judi Kins colored with some copics. this one is 4 X 9 in real life.

The man and the sentiment are from Art Impressions ( copics) and the plaid is from SU colored with markers. ( not sure what its real name is anymore that plaid background) but, its the big solid one not the ones with the border stamps you had to line up yourself. funny true story. the other day I had told hubs I seen the most pretty blue colored plaid shirt at Kohls but, I didn't buy it because, I have never in all these years seen him wear plaid and he said to me what is plaid? ( and I think I had to pick my jaw up over that one haha)

Now, last week there was a cupcake challenge. and I knew I had this PTI die set, and I am not sure I have ever played with it. but, I have been collecting "cupcake" sentiments so, I dug it out and I am not sure any of them turned out CAS so, I have not posted them yet. this is the only one I left as a shaped card, and I did line the inside but, did not use the liner die on it.

The frosting on this one was done with a gelli print on some deli paper with acrylic paint a while back. the sentiment is from Riley & Co.
that base is mauve mist. (yep, I am one of those people who does not get rid of retired colors) :)

This one the frosting was run through the big shot with a craft concepts folder called budding vine then inked to show off the swirls. the sentiment is from SU.

Same embossing folder this one the sentiment is from that line of changito monkeys and was a gift from June but, I cannot picture the co. mfg info in my head. so, this is the first time I have used it. :)

I have been meaning to pair this die and sentiment for years and never get around to it because, I think I have only really used the bra die ( My Favorite things) for Hope you can cling to things. not sure anymore. I *think* the sentiment is IO but, I have to double check. the bra was cut from scraps so no clue on the mfg of them.

the Taylored Expressions Spectacular die and sentiments. on 3" card bases from scraps. and now I have a good sized pile of scraps going on again and a pile of things to color from the loot that came home ( has been stamped and put away)

Loot

On saturday mornings Hubs and I go to breakfast and or yardsales if there are any that sound good. Our favorites tend to be estate sales. but, today there as a half a page of ad's in the paper. ( so the season has officially begun) at the first stop I came across this metal ( it is nearly completely all metal dymo label maker) ( with a box of tapes for it) and it works... for one whole dollar.

Then we went to breakfast, hit a couple of the 8 am sales. didnt see anything. went home waiting for it to be closer to 9 am when the rest of them opened and hubs said you know do you really want to go to any of them? and I said well maybe just the one that said they have some stamping supplies. ( most of the time when they say that there are maybe 12 stamps for sale kwim?) with a pile of stickers and some dried out pads... So, we went.
and it was crazy there was 3 or 4 ladies selling craft things together. ( that is all they had ) no household stuff, no clothes no guy things just crafts.   the entire garage. I have never seen anything like it.

and it was amazing good deals. those towers of Sizzix dies ( are mostly filled and the ones with greens or yellows have more dies on the flip side) 8.00 each tower. the paint daubers and stains 1.00 each ( new) the stamps are all new except the baggie of unmounted ones and the precious moments ones the rest are brand new the ribbons were ones that had been sold by the yard cuttings so they vary the amounts the atg gun looks brand new. there are a couple more dies on top of the papers. the papers were 1.00 a bag. so all in all this pile was 70.25 WOW

a closer look at the stamps, yes you are seeing that correctly there is a PSX dogwood. ( which I did not own) a few other PSX stamps, some precious moments. a whippersnapper pumpkin, a Judi kins charlie brown type tree. the SU set called peace and love. a container of brand new flower soft. Penny Black ( one of the winter tree scenes) an art impressions gal with a basket of flowers I have not seen before. not sure what the unmounted ones in the baggie are ( or any of the mfg info) I think the only one that maybe a duplicate for me is the penny black holly swirly stem. ( I have to dig in the closet to check on that one)
