Wish Rak Cards for the Troops (challenge cards)

It's become an tradition for the ladies playing inside Wish Rak to organize challenges during holidays through out the year every so often with the purpose of creating cards using items that they have received via wish rak and or are hoarding , and also to donate as many of these cards as possible to deployed troops. ( no hallmark stores in war zones) this particular Challenge all 10 challenges were to do "featured stamper" CASE'd cards from that gal's gallery. so, i have 9 of the 10 done so far ( I'm the tenth featured stamper) so, I'm waffling about case-ing one or more of my own cards. (seems kinda funny to me i guess) so, since the theme for people creating one from my gallery was to make a "guy" card, I may just do some guy cards and slip them into the box. If your not a wishrak memeber (Wish Rak is a sub-forum of the RAK user group inside split coast stampers) you can also donate handmade cards to "card for Hero's The new site isOperation Write Home at any time" check the site for suggestions of what's not a good idea to send. ( cards covered with glitter or feathers etc. some cards may be sent to troops in combat hospitals)
the theme from sbs81's gallery was "anniversary" and i chose this card from Stephanie's gallery to CASE.
I loved the design of Steph's card and the changes i made was instead of sewing all the pannels i distressed them, this seemed to fit in with the distressed looking daisy d's printed papers. and then i flipped the design to its side.
a cropped look at the first card i did that was a case of a card from OregonStamper's gallery. the theme for this challenge was "love" (a link to Kitty's card that I CASED ) What I loved most about Kitty's card was the long tall shape, and the way the flowers POPed being sanded, but as i got to the part where you do the flowers my white core cardstock was hiding so, i ended up using plain white cardstock and then inking it with cats eye chalk ink pads ( which made a mess ) so i cut the flowers out and ran them through an Xyron. the cream button flower brads are from MM and were originally an cream color but it clashed with the cream cardstock so they have some red pepper alcohol ink dabbed on them. the ribbons unknown. the red/brown cardstock under the flowers was done with distress inks and glimmer mists. the stripe pp also has some distress ink on it as it was just a little too "white". a CASE of Jenny (avery123)'s Card. The challenge theme from Jenny's gallery was an Thinking of You/ Miss you card. I chose this card because, not only is it gorgeous but, it also has a circle with an rectangle which i though ha can you do that and make it work? ok so I am missing some layers ( for some reason i dont see all the layers until i shoot the photo then notice i am missing some) *sigh* guess thats what you get when you are watching the clock... this old barn is an Serenity stamps image that came to me via wish rak from laburnett (Thanks Laurie!) This card is 5X7 in real life. the theme for Bspink's gallery was "Easter" this is her card i chose to CASE (Bspink's Card)
I totally loved the colors and design of this card i chose from her gallery and then i made the primaflower brad combo much smaller and just used ruffled May arts ribbon instead of trying a bow.
The theme for Cricket3571's gallery was "any occassion" so, i was thinking this could be used for an congratulations type card. Jamie's Card that i chose. This detective penguin came to me from JenMarie ( Thanks Jen!) he's colored with prisma pencils, substitued dry embossed cardstock for the heat embossed& thought this cuttlebug folder mimicked the tweed look i was trying to do on his clothes, didn't have sheer ribbon with bling edges so changed this to mostly bling. this is A-6 in real life. The theme from JanetJ's gallery was "any occassion" so, i did an "hello" after seeing this card in Janet's Gallery . The reason i chose this card of Janet's was because as soon as i seen it i knew i had one of these peg leg pete's colored that i had no idea what to do with it after that. i kept the design similar substituting some sinimay ribbon for the top piece of printed paper and used a scrap of alcohol inked background i had laying around for the bottom. added some hemp string to the buttons. The theme from Lexant's gallery was Mom Birthday, I chose this card from Kathy's gallery.what i loved a great deal about Kathy's card was the color combo, and the scary part was how bright the pinks were. ( knew i had some pp i was not sure what to do with it ) so added that to some kiwi kiss cardstock colored the Penny Black frog (Too Many Candles)(from and the Impression Obsession layer cake (from JenMarie) to match. when i was poking around my green ribbons box found this tulle that Alison sent me last spring and thought oh that makes it look like a present so tied it on the cake panel instead of the border strip. these are A-6 in real life.
The theme from Paisley_Frog's gallery was to do an "Kid Birthday" so, I chose this card from Trish's Gallery because, of how the topnote die was straight on the edge and thought oh neat. on my card i changed the pp, to an old SU (old olive) pp, the textured piece was done with distress inks on white cardstock then run through an cuttlebug, the sentiments from SU and up on a popdot, did change this a bit to tie the sentiment onto the ribbon. This Aligator came to me from Leibetty ( Thanks Leighanne!) Its stamped with versafine and colored with prisma pencils. this card i also changed into an Square shape. The theme from Peebsmama's gallery was an "Happy Birthday" and I chose this card of Susan's.
What I loved about Susan's card was the colors most, and the fact that she had a bow. so i did change the colors a bit and I'm not a bow maker so, i did change that into a knot. this is 5X7 in real life. ten cards in less then 24 hours makes for one messy desk top and one very blind stamper... :) More later.
