On Saturday night the Outlines blog email landed in my inbox stating that that weeks challenge was "love is in the Air" and that the challenge ended on Sunday afternoon. so, knowing this I made this wedding themed gift card late Sunday afternoon trying to hurry and beat their deadline and so, was just poking around their site to see this weeks challenge ( it gets posted on Mondays and found this post: http://outlineswithkathy.blogspot.com/2012/01/challenge-35-love-is-in-air-winner.html

an Red letter Day!

So, today I got to work this morning (late, snowed again and had to do some errands and feed Tim's livestock before i left, he wrenched his back but good on Saturday so. everything was behind) and I got to work and the first thing June says is sit down, I gotta tell you this story.

and so it went something like this, friday afternoon after I left work for the weekend a lady came into the office to pay and pick up some parts we made for her pellet stove. and it was raining cats and dogs on friday so June went out to the shop to fetch the parts ( they were small) and left this gal in the office alone. and when she came back this lady was flipping through a small basket of cards on Junes desk that I made. and she said... she manages M'bellish on Main Street... and she wanted to sell these cards in her store.

So I came home and put a few cards in one basket and some gift tags and cards into another and went down there to talk to her, she says' can I keep a few to show the owners? so I says sure take what you want. and she kept making piles in between customers and then after a while she says... we pay bills on Thursday's can we mail you a check? so she ended up flat out buying 17 of my cards and tags to sell in the store. wow.

and if they can sell them, she wants more later. mostly weddings and birthdays.

They have some in the store now that are handmade (not by me) that were a little too CAS for the price they were asking and they have not sold a single one of them either. ( but, I don't know how long they have had them in there, and so I do know that she was impressed that all of mine were different.)

so, now the birthday card stash is even lower. better go get busy and make some more.

Odds and Ends

These were quick tags done for Christmas last month that never hit the blog then... this post is just cleaning out my "to be uploaded" folder...

This was done just messing around with piles of diecut's Ive made recently out of piles of scraps... ( pp is unknown) the sentiments from Justrite, the heart tag was done with the justrite charm die, the larger heart is a classic spellbinders. the ric rac is vintage, the polkadot tape is from K&Co. this is a-2 in real life.

The geese flying stamp is from Inkadinkado, the sentiment's from SU. this is one layer of Neenah classic cream in an A-2 size with versafine vintage sepia ink. Done simply for an Masculine CAS Birthday.

Latte Love

Impression Obsession stamps. colored with copics then cut out to layer on top of the other layers.

This one's 5 1/2" square in real life, the Red base is bazzill, the dot pp is from the basic grey kissing booth line, the tan pp is from some other basic grey line. the big red brad is unknown, as is the red clear button. the thread is scrappers floss and the lace is tape from stampington & co.

Pink Scraps

Done really simply because as I was picking up scraps on the edge of the table I thought these looked neat in my hand ( nearly just like this) lol so... added the MFT sentiment in versfine and the K&Co. felt rose to that strip and poked some recollections brads in and called it done. I know the red dotted pp is from pebbles and the pink base is from creative imaginations but the plaid (has vintage wood tape measure pp on the other side) and heart prints I'm coming up blank on mfg info. the pink sentiment strip is probably basic grey. this ones A-6 in real life.

Skinny Legs?

The "guy" card part of my stash both personal and what will go to next years booth is looking a little thin, so here is another one. These are rubbernecker stamps, the want to call him ralph in the tub is done on neenah colored with copic's ( added some gelly roll glaze to a bit of the water after this was shot) and has some chocolate hemp string through the edges of the diecut. the sentiment was stamped on a scrap of basic grey. both the other pp's are also from the scrap bin and are not pieces that had mfg marks on them ( so unknown ) the base is bazzill 6" square in real life. ( I'm not really sure what you would do with this card for an occasions but, I thought it was funny when I seen the stamps so I made a card with them, I think I will use the river city rubbernecker ( seemed like a good idea at the time sentiment with him next time)
