Stamp Shacks Color Combo Challenge

This card the Big Blossom is stamped with Versafine Satin Red on Very Vanilla cardstock, then over stamped with the love definition background in Versafine Spanish Moss. this was then heat embossed in clear detail powder and cut out as versafine ink does not dry on coated cardstocks. the Heidi Swapp clear ghost flower was colored with Ranger Red Pepper Alcohol ink, the button is unknown, the red floral background paper is from Creative imaginations and the cream texture paper is from Provocraft. the button has Karen Foster Scrappers thread tied through it. the Sentiment is from Amuse, stamped and heat embossed as above. the edges of the card were run through a sewing machine. ( I got this idea from Pam Smiley Collector) she has been doing partial sewing on circles lately. Thanks Pam!

This one the green color is more obvious. Can't remember who makes that ribbon though, i have some was gifted to me and some i bought by the yard in a scrapbook store ( not in town)

This Card is 5X7 in real life, the flower was done exactly the same as on the first card, then instead of the plastic flower layer, i looped some snips of this cream scrolly patterned ribbon on top of the stamped flower, then did the button and the tag sentiment the same way. the Background pp is from Chatterbox. so, this card is a little simpler but was still fun to make.

Feel Like Figgy Pudding?

So today on my way home from work i stopped in the scrapbook garden and spent some of my birthday gift money on two sheets of this tree ( basic grey ) figgy pudding paper and an 6X6 pad of the line. they've almost sold out of the 12 x 12 sheets. anyways these don't have much stamping on them but, i really like this printed paper. the Heidi swapp chipboard heart i used a crop-i-dile to punch the holes for the offray ribbon. the Textile embossed mellow moss is just one piece that i tore the end on an angle then cut it in half length wise. there is also some Vintage Photo distress ink on the edges. The green and Brown textured cardstock is from Bazzill and the red mini brads are from Joann's ( the ck mixed colors ones) The Hero Arts sentiment is stamped on Mellow Moss in Red Satin Versafine ink. This card is 6X6 in real life.

This one is 4X6 and the ribbon i {think} is offray too? the sentiments from Savvy Stamps and stamped in Ranger Archival Olive ink.

These are just some more little (3X3) gift tags sized cards, 4 are pretty close to the same and the other 4 are all different from each other. some have krylon leafing paint pen on the edges.

So, i have been coloring images at night while we watch TV and so now i have a small pile on my table that are "ready to become cards" so, this is the last one i did this afternoon. thought hmmm, fits the way i feel right this minute. :) the card base and grossgrain are su certainly celery color and the pink printed paper (solid) is basic grey from the blush line and the checkered pp ( i dont remember) The Dolly Mama image is colored with markers then has some tea dye distress along the edges and this one is about 6 1/4 x 4 1/2 ish. in real life.

Chocolate date thanks

Monday after work Alice and I had a "Chocolate date" We usually take each other out to lunch on our birthdays but this was the soonest we could get together this year, so she made an "better then sex" chocolate cake. ( funny story, she got this recipe from her churches fund raiser cook book where they had changed the name of the cake to "better then anything" chocolate cake...) People are funny. Is it better? well i guess that depends on who you've done that with, in my opinion, no. :) I intend to put this card into the empty cake pan along with some of her fav chocolate when I return it. the main image is from Club Scrap and the sentiments from SU.

This was colored last night and then put together this afternoon, the base cardstock is River Rock, and the textured brown is from Bazzill. the square image is from Nancy ( DirectMailScrapper) virtual swap in the stampshack, she also sent the flower images below,

this one is business card sized ( 9x4) the flower are up on pop dots. and there are MM crystal gems in the centers. all the images are colored with prisma pencils and no chemicals. the thing i have started noticing lately is some of the images that come to me in the mail ( and Ive had quite a few wish raks arrive since i joined that part of split coast) is sometimes the prisma pencils are making the black ink smear and then the images get muddy looking, such is the case with these flowers. I don't know why, i can rub my finger over them and nothing happens so it must be one kind of ink, not all of them do it, but i don't know what was used.

these are more little note cards from last Sunday, they ( the glitter was not dry) when i was shooting them, and from many past card shoots i have learned to not shoot mine till they are dry because i will stick my finger in the wet glue or drop them ALWAYS. cant tell you how many thing have hit the trash from that... :)

Its such a funny thing to me how the glitter glue makes regular printed paper look even more special. I totally love this line from BG so i have some pretty small scraps of it laying around and so... :) that's cool that they will not go to waste.

this one the rubber soul pp has ranger liquid pearls ( pink ) randomly dotted around the paper. so, that's it for now. have a good evening.

Gifts from Scraps?

Another card from the scraps on my table, this one is just under an a-2 size and the images are from Lockhart stamps.

Now, when you live in a small town that the only craft store is Joann's and there are 3 local scrapbook stores that tells you things for paper crafters ( if they get it in at all) sell out really fast... so most the time i end up throwing away my Joann's coupons because there is not much that is not on sale... but recently i stopped in mine because i still had that last coupon and i found these Christmas tins in rectangle shapes. the snowman is the lid and reads count your blessings. I have been making the scraps on my table into little note cards and gift tags...

So most of these are 3X3 in size. the image is a gift from the lady who answers my phone at work she bought this set, and i had said out loud before she did that the only image in the set i wanted was this one so i would not be buying it, and she has very large flowing swirly handwriting and she feels like she could not write names on this tag so she gave me this stamp. so, I have been trying to put some things together with it.

This is the largest one of the recent cleaning spree this one is 4X4 in real life. there's some gold glitter glue in the corners and that is machine sewing on the mats.

These ones have way too much glitter glue on them, was thinking some may need longer ribbons to tie onto packages.

I may not stick the ones that are not Christmasy into the Christmas tins, thinking to set them aside for "every day" type gifts and get plain containers to put the tags into. I know i read that SU makes envelopes that fit 3x3 sized cards but when i put tags on things i mostly let them stick out so, not sure i will buy the envelopes or not yet. This green ribbon came to me from Jan tied on an Rak Gift for my birthday. Thanks Jan!

this one is creative imaginations printed paper with some gold stickles in the centers and then the sentiment is stamped on a scrap then trimmed with mini scallop deco scissors. The gold ribbon came to me tied to an RAK gift from Jan. :)

Today

I spied this birdy nest in our front (old) pie cherry tree as soon as all the leaves were done, and have been meaning to shoot it all week.. Its actually pretty big in real life. not sure what birds had made it. it was kind of a surprise to find it when the leaves disappeared...

I did this one really quick this am for a tech. challenge Jan Posted in the StampShack this week the background was done with Versamagic Pigment inks, and distress dye ink pads then over stamped with the Great Impressions trees in Versafine Vintage sepia ( same thing for the hero arts sentiment) the metal thing that the ribbon is tied to came from an eBay seller who is also an splitcoast member StarLitStudio is the store name. this is about 4 1/2 x 6 inches in real life. I also stipple brushed some marigold distress ink where the leaves would be on the trees, and some shabby shutters along the torn edges.

This is a birthday card from ThatOtherSharon, the cake has been cuttlebuged and has that fancy decorated frosted look to the layers,

this is the inside which made me laugh out loud! :)

This is a card from the ClubBrak part of the RAK user group at splitcoast from Sewnsun ( Mary Anne) and the butterfly is done twice and 3-d in real life.

This card is also from a clubbrak volunteer 4everstamping (Pam) it was hard to catch the color of this, its a lot richer in person. there are two layers of ribbons and the sentiment is in metallic gold ink.

This card came to me from Beth, and the wrapped part along the bottom and the scalloped square are both done on watercolor paper and PAINTED! can you imagine? ( I am like a baby with watercolors in real life so this is like such wow! to me) Thanks Beth!

This one came to me from PeebsMama ( Susan ) It has some gel pen work all over it and the punchie flowers are bling bling too in real life, but it was almost impossible to catch it with my camera.

This is something i put together just a few minutes ago, need another Nov. birthday card to go out TODAY. so this is pretty simple, I had borrowed the best of cluck set from my mil last night when J was trick-or-treating her, and this set with the flowers and butterfly and sentiment block is stored in the same box as the chicken stamps... ( so its on my table right now, don't know the name of the set though) the tiny happy birthday is from the su set called All holidays and its stamped on yellow hand made paper from Provocraft Ive had a few years now. the Background is chalked shades of blue. the colors are a little off on this one.

When we were on our way home from Portland last week we stopped in the Joann's in Medford as i had two coupons and i dragged Tim in with me, but all i found to buy was this cuttlebug snow folder so this is the first thing i have done messing around with that, its embossed in soft sky cardstock then has Not Quite Navy rubbed over the top of it. the snowman is also stamped in same color ink the large oval from A Muse was stamped in two colors of Chalk ink from Fresco. ( Ive done this before so if you find something soft sky it lists the ink color in that post) off the top of my head i don't remember this is something i tossed together last sunday afternoon.

This is some things i did with the scraps from making that card and granting some snowflake embossed wishes.

That's about it for now, Monday i had two vaccinations ( tetanus booster and Meningitis.) which made my shoulders ache ( really bad for one of them but i don't know which shot went into which shoulder but, one of these took me a couple of days to feel normal again after. so today i get the paper work at work about how Blue Cross will pay for flu shots if you go to certain places to get them. but, when i got the others on monday i had to sign a paper that said i had not received any other vaccinations in the last 30 days. So tomorrow is the soonest the lady who schedules the surgeons surgery is will hear back from the Insurance and so, now my family has their fingers crossed its more then 30 days from last monday so i can get a flu shot ahead of time too. (haha) I've never ever had a flu shot so, I'm not so sure i want one. :)

Last night the book store called and said the book we ordered had finally arrived, so right now I'm reading "Hear again, Back to life with a Cochlear Implant ~ Arlene Romoff" It is going pretty fast for me because it kinda reads like a "dear diary" type story so when your used to reading Blogs its an easy read.
