A few more from things on the table

 I have been trying and I say that with my eyes mentally rolling to try to make more than one of something. this year more than I have in the past few years because, really there is not as much time in the day it seems like the older I get. haha I know I am not old yet so, with that being said. these were all done with things on the table or ideas that sparked off other cards I think I have already posted.

 These are all variations off of the card I did for the Two Paper Diva's June Sketch Challenge.
about the only things different are the word placements and or use of stickers and such with the coffee lids.
These are all A-6 in real life.
 I have had this pile of those three discarded die cuts on my table for months, I had originally thought I would do something "spring" with them because of the pastels but, when I was stamping this sentiment from Impression Obsession maybe a week ago I grabbed this previously stamped frame from Gina K designs and thought what the heck the brown should be darker lets see... The lace is vintage and this one is A-6 in real life.

 This one, all the pieces were from previous projects all I had to do was color the lid and because, I had made all the others with Dutchbro colors this one just seemed to roll along that path too. the cup is a stamp from Art Impressions, the hug in a mug is from the ton and the sending you a is from( I have to edit) and the plaid paper is from MFT.

Now this was done for the Inspiration Challenge last saturday and it heads to a abstract art board on Pinterest where there are so many cool ideas, and I decided if I chose this one ( which has colors I love) and used up some pieces of previously made alcohol inked polished stone it would go together really fast, which it did because, I then grabbed this Ellen Hutson diecut words from previously water colored paper that has been front and center on the table for a while now. that panel is up on foam tape and this one is 5" square in real life.

Two Paper Diva's Latte Thanks June Sketch Challenge

Good Morning, its the second Monday in June so today the Two Paper Diva's challenge goes live, this month its a sketch and you can find the details and the link up here on the store blog. There is a gift certificate to the store being offered and you have two weeks to play along with us.

A closer look at the textures, the blue plastic piece was painted with off white acrylic paint which was mostly wiped off leaving most of the paint in the recessed letters. this was die cut with an Nellie Snellen tags 3 die and its from a local dutchbro's coffee chain lid. (all of their lids on the disposable cups say things on them) I generally use a metal insulated mug but, once in a while get these and when they say something neat that could work on a card I do save them and use them like this. So it ties in just fine with the new sentiment with those fun curls from the A cup of kindness set.

 This card is A-2 in real life, the base is some fancy pants corrugate with a layers of recollections kraft run through the bigshot with a Tim Holtz folder called on the go, the latte diecut was done with the My Favorite things coffee cup die with some Neenah solar white and a blue & tan scraps. Those gems are from Darice. The thank you sentiment was stamped with some Majestic blue Versafine ink.

A copy of the sketch. Besides the sketch, this is a two-fold challenge being to make this sketch a coffee theme. And we are all looking forward to seeing what you do with it. Thanks for stopping by.

Last weekends challenge cards

 On Sunday the featured stamper challenge headed to Marisa's gallery where I found this cool car
And changed nearly everything. I used her piece for the color & theme inspiration. The mega teacup is from Unity Stamps and the sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

  The Inspiration challenge headed to this board of wedding shoe mug shots and I chose this one. ( which is funny if you know purple is not a go to color for me) and the whole thing turned into a comedy of errors but, I did finish it and post it in spite of that. I used the SU gently falling embossing folder with an Club Scrap sentiment ( girlfriends set)

Now this I will probably do again as a "do over" with some more planning behind the thought. I had thought I owned a constellation background stamp ( ended up ordering one after the fact) and the Mix challenge was to do something that included watercolor lifting as shown in an Jennifer McGuire video seen here.
So what I learned doing this is, it probably lets the original base color pop better with some bold solid stamps being embossed and that my SU markers are really dry or really absorb lickety split into the strathmore watercolor paper. ( I was heat embossing so, I grabbed what was on the table, all the rest of my watercolor mediums are downstairs) So, I think I will do this one again but, change the kind of stamps and maybe make a stack of just watercolor backgrounds to have on hand. The constellation stamps on this one are from Hero Arts and the sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

WOYWW #366 {yard views}

 Excuses why I do not have amazing things to show you on my desk, a south front yard looking east shot. the tall thing in the leftish back is an pergola with grapes growing on it, benches and a wood burning fire pit.
 off to the right of that looking south is the veggie garden. ( what you see in those front boxes are mostly onions and garlic) the tall thing with the string on the left is for pole beans to climb. there are some tomatoes and peppers, Chinese peas and lettuce in the greenhouse.

 one of the more interesting peonies has opened by the patio. ( didn't get shots of that) will do other parts of the yard later.
what you really came to see, yep. I have not been doing much. I am still mentally debating what to make for fathers day cards so, while I was standing there being blank I ended up ripping off a few more wood blocks and sticking them to cling foam. most of what's on the sheet are Elyzbells in the UK size. ( I think she joined the team at Penny Black after she closed her store so, not sure if she is still making stamps like these for them?) ooh above that is how the words from the coffee cups got cut down to, and I did use some on some cards that will peek next week when the tpd challenge goes live next monday. Thanks for stopping by & if you'd like to play along with us this blog hop starts here at Jan's blog while Julia is recovering.

June New Release from Two Paper Diva's {Day 2}

 Welcome to day two of the June new release from Two Paper Diva's. Today there are several coffee & drink sets with a few others. you probably already guessed the coffee sets claimed my heart. This particular card the sentiments are from the new Keep Calm and Drink set. And this cup is from the new A cup of kindness. These were stamped with Versafine ink and the stripes of the cup were colored with a pitt pen. (those have teeny tiny tips for small spaces if you have not tried any of them) I chose this newsprint looking paper from echo park times and seasons pad to give it that "breaking news flash vibe" ha ha but, anyone who knows me already knows how much I love my coffee. The stamped panel was cut with a my favorite things square stitched die and is up on pop dots over the print. the base is an shimmery string of pearls color from Bazzill.

for a fun little hostess gift tag, the shimmery wine colored cardstock is from stardream and it was cut with an paper trey ink wine bottle tag. the sentiment from the new keep calm and drink set was stamped on some Neenah solar white with Versafine crimson red ink and die cut with a my favorite things pierced fish tail die. the printed layer is from my minds eye and I cut it with the pti bottle tag die and just trimmed slivers off the edges of the sides to give it a little bit of a matted look with the tag peeking out from behind. The ribbon is from Martha Stewart and the iridescent cord is from May Arts. the wine bottle charm is unknown ( it was in a pack of assorted wine charms from the notions section at joann's fabrics a while back)
remember all the new release sets are still on sale through tonight and you can see them all here

June Two Paper Diva's New Release {Day 1}

 I was so excited to see this fun sets for summer with the ice cream from Two Paper Diva's when they flashed them the dt. I don't own any ice cream stamps at all so, it was a totally fun thing to get to play with. All of the ice cream cones and scoops of ice cream in this post have been heat embossed and water colored. and paper pieced into these designs.

 This first card is a gate fold that is 5 1/2" square with each of the front folds was run through the big shot with a cuttlebug border embossing gingham folder ( I thought it kind of mimic the waffle cone texture) and as you scroll through this post you'll probably get the idea that that is my favorite way to eat ice cream is on a waffle cone.  I had to laugh at myself though while I was coloring because, the last year or so I have only bought mint chocolate chip so, I had to really think about what other colors ice cream comes in. ( hubs picks a different flavor for himself every time we buy more so, he goes for the fruity ones and these colors are blueberry cheesecake and strawberry)

 one of the things I did with this was stamp the sentiment (twice using the Misti) onto a quarter sheet of Neenah cardstock and diecut that with a Our daily bread stitched rectangle die and after I decided this would be a triple cone the cone was a little too close to the top edge for balance so, instead of starting all over I grabbed the next sized down die and balanced it with one more cut. This works giving that fourth edge the stitching cut because, it was cut the first time with the larger die.
The colors used on each of these cards are: Ranger tan embossing powder colored with zig clean brush markers oatmeal (cones), Scoops are Zig! blush powder + Zig cleanbrush tea rose marker, SU pool party powder with light blue + pale green Zig clean brush markers, Stampin Stuff lilac powder with Zig clean brush English lavender marker

 This one the cones were stamped repeatedly With Memento sand on the Neenah with the misti by sliding the paper each direction from the center to keep them perfectly lined up.And these were colored with polychromos pencils so they could be flat for the words to be over stamped.
The oval die was cut out of the front of the card base and the Neenah was mounted from the inside so its a little bit like and embedded window but, still a fairly flat and mail friendly card. This one is also 5 1/2" square in real life.

Now this one is 3 1/2" square in real life as just a little note. I love making cards this size from the scraps they are easy enough to tuck into lunchboxes or coat pockets or you get the idea. When I was a kid we always had orange sherbet at the grandparents house. ( because, we always got ice cream at their house haha) (the sprinkles are Simon says stamp flower sequins) All of these cards were made with the Cool Treats Images And the Here's the scoop sentiments.
And now for the best news, if you like these sets do not delay checking out the entire release ( it's on sale today and tomorrow along with all the new sets for June, there is not coupon code they are all marked down in the store and you can find them here.) Tomorrow I will be back with some from the other sets and if you forgot this month is when the Summer coffee lovers blog hop happens so, if you have been wanting something fun for those to play along with there are some new sets for that also. Thanks for stopping by :)
