WOYWW #307 {still fairly clean}

Welcome to the non-mess haha. The link up for this blog hop starts here at our hostess Julia's blog
Its a funny true story. since I cleaned off my desk two weekends ago, and I have been shooting this shot with my cell phone with my arms above my head, if I do that... all you see is the green cut mat...
So, I backed up into the closet to shoot you this angle.

On the left I have a package of paper smooches slang gang sentiments and on the right are scraps that those sentiments were stamped on sunday afternoon ( they were drying there) shot this tuesday after work before I made some cards (youcanseethecardshere) I had received this tranquil moments die set in the mail and nope I have not taken the gryo cutter out of the package yet. ( but, I did stamp and paper piece some tea cups) I want to try it cutting the insides of the handles. I had colored a few images on tuesday before I went upstairs and tucked those into the sentiments tray instead of putting them away so, I can see them to use them. oh, and off to the right is a tube of heavy acrylic paint to play with. ( I am thinking this is the kind that leaves awesome texture behind) not sure what I am going to do with it yet but, there was a half price sale on brushes and paints at Micheals on tuesday. so, I also bought an angled shading brush but, its already been put in the flowerpot of brushes behind the lights. So, in other news I sold 15 cards at work last week so, that created a mental panic of oh no. ( still trying to feel like I am close to being having enough to last 2 days haha) someone asked about pricing last week. and they all of my cards have a different price tag on them. if you click the link on the side that says booth display. that shows some of what I have done in the past and maybe even shots of price tags. so, there are 3 more creating weekends to go until the booth happens.

3 for tuesday

I actually played in the color combo challenge today. ( surprising I know) I did not have any wasabi (green) cardstock though, so I switched that color out for pistachio.  This rose is from the su set called 5th avenue floral, the sentiment just may be from teeny tiny wishes ( but, I am not sure about that) the flower is colored with copic markers.

 The sand panel was run through an zig zag folder and the edges were inked with some creamy brown fluid chalk ink. the base was stamped with a really old su lace stamp and adirondack shell pink ink. the brads are unknown and the lace is vintage.

 The same day I had stamped the rose on a sheet of dictionary page I also got this blended bloom on a second one. these both were colored today. and
this smeared a little.  the ric rac's are vintage.

 the pistaschio scrap was stamped with the old fern lace su background and adirondack bottle ink.
this one is A-7 in real life. the base is coastal cabana, The sentiment was cut with a nellie snellen tag die.

So I had this bitty piece of pistachio left over so used it to soak up the left over ink on the fern lace stamp.  The stamped sentiment was done on a scrap the other day its from paper smooches. the butterflies were a Micheal's (recollections) find. the floral paper is from Die Cuts with a view. it has some glitter to it.

The lace is vintage, the wishing diecut is from Simon Says Stamp, the You diecut is from spellbinders by Donna Salazar girlie grunge labels ( this does not cut, it kinda sorta embosses) but, its so subtle I just ran a fineliner pen over the embossed letters while the cardstock was still in the die like a stencil. the stamped sentiment and the bottom layer under it are from the justrite spellbinders vintage sentiments tag dies, and the frilly diecut between them is from the spellbinders tranquil moments set. this also uses up the left over piece of sand and the Bazzill base makes it 6" in real life.

using up scraps

 all the printed papers on these little 3" gift cards came from the coffee cards last weekend.

 and or the other cards made last weekend.

Sunday's Cards

 This week's featured Stamper is Mary, and I had seen this card and this second card both before we left this morning and when I got home it kinda all morphed in my head. so this is a CASE that combines things from both of them more or less. ( it's A-2 in real life) the changes are the gems were switched out for buttons and I dropped the sentiment down the front of the card.

 And then when I went back upstairs there was this pile of all these scraps.. so, its a little different but, not too much I would guess.

The other day when I was digging for coffee sentiments I came across this Hambo sentiment that Paula had gifted me with for Christmas a few years ago now... and I don't think I have played with it yet so, I had also pulled out some various teal colored papers on Saturday looking for something to use for the leaves on that card and thought you know this paper is kinda pretty if you could just let it be seen. and so I did. ( its clear embossed over those flowers and such. so its smooth in real life but shiny. ( the lightroom is an adventure for editing from my point of view still)

To-Go Cup Cards

 all of these mugs are the stamp from Art Impressions that you have to cut out by hand. ( and you cannot just stamp it and not cut it out because, the lid is close to the cup but, not actually touching it. )
so. it uses up lots of scraps if you do a stack of them. ( I was not really thinking at all when I started stamping the cups and belly bands and such on Tursday night ( as far as how many of them I had stamped haha) so, Friday night I finished coloring grey around the edges of all the pieces and started stamping random Coffee Sentiments to die cut.
 all together there are 25 of the gift card holder ones done at the moment and a few extra note cards. the seambinding is on with way long tails because, the people who buy them are going to need to re tie them after they get their gift cards inserted so, they are long enough to trim.

 So all of these with a piece of seam binding tied on loosely over the lids that lid is glued to a flap. ( the mat is scored at one inch from the top end and folded over.) so there is a slit cut into that mat above the cups rim (under the flap) that people can tuck a gift card into.

 all of these are A-2 in real life. and all of them use pre-made card bases ( the ones that come with envelopes kwim?) ( its not something I normally do so, it always surprises me how flimsy this cardstock is) ( esp. since I tend to do layers and lumps)
 these blue plastic embossed sentiments are all from a local drive through coffee shop's lids. I received one of their wash it and re-use it mugs for Christmas but before that I started saving some of these lids to do this with and have a small baggie of partial lids ( some painted with cream acrylic paint over the top and some neekid plastic)
 So. this is what else I did on Saturday besides the jewelry box inspired birthday card.
one more display basket theme is full enough to get by but, has room for 4 or 5 more of the gift card holder versions if I end up wanting to do a few more. ( these actually did pretty good last November)

Jewel Inspired

 This week the inspiration challenge heads to pottery barn... where I found this jewelry box and I loved the textures and colors...So, changes I made was instead of using black went for Early Espresso to heat emboss with the turquoise powder on. the leather texture paper is something that was on sale at clearbox dot com last time I picked up envelopes. ( It does not have any mfg info on the wrapper )

This is A-7 in real life, the "I love lace" (SU) background was heat embossed both on the edges of the cardbase and on the mat under the sentiment. the dancing leaves ( Penny Black Die) was cut from a sheet of clear embossed die cuts with a view printed paper and is just tucked in here and there trying to mimic the bold leaf patterns on the jewelry box. The gems and pearls are from Recollections. that sentiment is from Artful stamper.
