A catch up post... (2012 continued)

PSX Santa face on Kraft with an Unity sentiment. Love this paper its so home-y quilted looking to me. this one is 6" square in real life.

an winter Anniversary card. I think this mousie is really waggling his eyebrows when your not looking. haha. I spent considerable time going to craft stores and home decor stores this winter looking for a fake piece of mistletoe that looked nice to use for photo shoot props. ( no luck yet)

This is 6" square in real life.

evidently I meant to make these a year or two ago found all these scrap punchies with these stamped sentiments together in the sentiments drawer so glued them all down and tossed them in the suit case for next year. an old Elzybells sentiment. ( you can click these photos to enlarge them)

Needed thank-you cards for Christmas gifts... wanted to keep it CAS.

so the vintage ric rac makes it a little lumpy and the embossing powder really darkened up ( its much brighter in the jar) so the reds are off but, I had all the paper cut to do the whole stack ahead of time and just left it. these are A-2 in real life.

When I first joined pinterest the free printable links lured me in for a while and this is something that was printed from there and I added the glitter snow to him and tossed him in the sentiments drawer. ( found it  recently and then added it to this tiny gift sack found at Impress) its large enough to tuck a gift card into. lace is vintage, sentiment is Hero Arts.

just using up scraps. this one is 3" square.

a tree shot I kept. have a folder of un posted photos but, most are family mug shots so will think about putting them on fb some time. the problem is its so time consuming and there are not enough hours in the day that my eyelids will stay open for.

Creamy Prayers

sorry there has been so many post's today... I found these photos in the folder I have that is like a holding tank for things to upload... and I had no time to really upload much in the last few weeks so... here is another 2012 project from the color combo challenge that came out the week after the last school shooting which was to use either white or cream. ( no color ) and it was just such a heart breaking thing to watch from the sidelines it was *almost* not a project you want to post, and then other people are grieving too and sharing their's and it helps. So, here is mine... I very rarely look at the color combo challenge. because, of the day of the week it falls on i guess. and I have seen some gorgeous things move through the gallery this week that it made me curious enough to go see. So, here's an attempt. ( I'm guessing the brown ink was too much brown) but, this was also mostly done with scraps. This is 6" square in real life. The gallery for this color combo challenge hides here if your curious... there are some amazing projects posted.

FS308 baby giraffe

This was done for Sabrina's week as featured stamper. :) Congratulations!
I hope you enjoy this. which means I actually did this one on New years eve... and its just now hitting the blog.
This is her card I chose to try... because, I need more baby cards in the stash. HERE
this is tiny in real life. the scalloped part is an quickutz die and then there is a tiny kraft card base folded to the back of it so its kinda laid back as it stands up. the giraffe was rak'd to me years ago and I added some distress ink markers to it. the button is vintage and I changed out the fibers to hemp string and the textured panel to printed paper.

Non-Traditional colors Christmas

for the Christmas card challenge this year each month is being hosted by a different person with a challenge to it besides making your quota for the month. this month Sheri tossed out no red and green color combo cards... So, I started digging in the colored images tin to see if I had anything not red and green. ( I have not colored in a month or more *gasp* ) so anyways, I found 6 images not red and green. ( which means all the rest of the Christmas are lol) and anyways this is the group mug shot. all 6 of these cards plus the one below (not Christmas) were done in about 2 hours because, the other thing I did was grabbed an Die cuts with a view linen closet pad and used papers from that pad for all of these cards. that cut out a lot of of fiddling time.

Thinking her name is stampendous gift angel but, really I colored all of these images so long ago that I'd have to dig in the closet through all the stamp boxes to be certain of that. colored with copics. this is 5" square in real life.

Impression Obsession coffee bean tree, this one is A-6 in real life.

Inky Antic's snow angel this one is 5X7 in real life.

This one is A-2. stockings are from Unity and the sentiments from Impress.

Thinking her name is something like stampendous wire works angel. but, she is outlined with glimmery shimmery pens. ( not copic's ) more like gel pen stuffs. ( can't remember ) but, this is very blingy in real life. that is a Prima flower.

another IO image rak'd to me from Leigh Anne This one was a challenge to color. the gold parts are a metallic pen. This one is 5 1/2" square in real life.

Now this card uses scrap papers from the above Christmas cards and then it also uses an image and sentiment from one of the free gift Taylored Expression sets I received from the hope you can cling to challenges. this one is A-2 in real life.

New Views

a few weeks ago hubs said to me well, what do you want for Christmas and I wracked my brain and came up with lets get a flat tv for upstairs and a little sofa for you and re-arrange the space so its more of a family room. so for the two weekends before Christmas all this stuff flipped from the side of the room where you see the tv hanging on the wall to this other corner. ( I now have a view out the window, an overhead light and 5' longer closet space) (and a pretty firm idea that I own "enough" vintage lace to part with some) lol. that closet door was opening the wrong way to be open behind where the main table is so, hubs took it off the hinges flipped it upside down re-did all the brackets and hinges and such and now it opens towards the heater. ( which is OK because Grace's dog bed is in front of the heater and this gives her that "safe" feeling without her feeling like she needs to sleep in front of the paper rack.)

you can click any of these photos to enlarge them, if you click the enlarged photo again it enlarges it again, then use your back button to return to the blog.

Speaking of paper rack's mines been cut in half to become a base for this big shot. ( the plan was to not buy each other gifts this Christmas because, we were doing this to the room and we really don't need anything) but, since when has Tim followed the rules?! anyways, they had a good sale on this right before Christmas so I said so, so he had one get here in time ( wow) and its very cool. took my 'bug and g. calliber to work to use there. Those vintage suitcases on the shelf are holding what is left of finished cards for this years booths.

I had showed Tim some other people's stamp rooms over the years with the stamps on the wall like art. and said this is the thing I have wanted most for a long time and I finally have "a wall" so, these were made from pre painted cheap wood from homedepot. ( shot these mug shots as soon as stuff was on the shelf haha and Then touched up the paint) ( so you cannot see the glue or staples anymore) they are 4" wide boards with some 1" other boards for the bumpers. the ends were going to be open on every shelf and then he used the scraps to put them on the ends too. ( at the top) ran out of lumbar before he got to the bottom shelf.

The top two shelves are background stamps because, I hardly use these because, they were packed harder to get to than most the other stamps. the middle shelf is vintage buttons. I've been sorting by color but, there is a store mesh handle basket in the closet filled with the rest of them. some will get saved. some to be sold. the bottom two shelves are combinations of buttons and prima type flowers. the ones from wild orchid crafts are so lumpy they don't fit in the jars very well so, or rather the whole package does not fit into a jar. ( still hunting for more tall wide mouth ones) eventually there will not be any short jars. these shelves were made this deep to hold the jars.

a closer look. its like my own personal penny candy isle :)

for Imogene. these are just flat boards. no miters.

what you see when you walk into the closet. the top plastic boxes are stamps. the middle row is embellishments sorted by color in cabela's boxes. the row under that is like "overstock" glues, bow maker, one basket is seam binding rolls, coloring things used to be on the table, more lace and ribbons on rolls. the closet is 5' longer than the one I previously had.

this is the end of the closet at the east side of the room. got all the punchies hanging on the wall on this side of behind the door. the green ribbon rack that hubs made years ago holding the MS punchies is under neath this cropper hopper one. those binders on the shelf between stamp boxes are quickuts dies, sizzix alphabets in baseball card pages, and brass stensils and such.

the west end of the closet. ( yes, I have joined the stamp to spend challenge... and the Christmas card challenge... and the I have been trying to do the featured stamper challenge ...) maybe I will make a dent in it. ( maybe) the problem with living in the middle of no where is you learn to buy in bulk. just got 1000 envelopes. various square sizes. things like that. buying some cardstocks by the ream.

I'm shooting things on top of the stamp dresser. the bottom drawer is now being filled with unmounted stamps. the papers that were inside it have been moved to the closet or the vintage suitcase holding little pads.

what the top of the table looks like. making a dent in that scrap pile. ( ha )
will shoot some other shots later. the best part is I finally got to have a play day yesterday. ( Christmas cards are coming, plus all the stuff I did not get around to uploading before the end of the year because of time limits.)

Friday evening

This was done for a CASE of this card of Gail's from when she was featured stamper a few weeks ago. I seen this and wanted to do it and then I tore the room apart and re-arranged everything ( which will be a different post shortly) anyways I did make more than two changes to this. the black lace punched paper was changed to regular vintage lace and the pearls in the center were switched to a button. This is 5X7 in real life.  that gingham is a double sided paper from a co. called fresh goods. the other side is kraft with some lighter colored swirly medallion type things. ( I bought it for the gingham)

Now these ended up being more of an Inspired by than an actual case of this tag of Sylvia's I love the peek-a-boo effect of the printed paper showing through the diecut hole and wanted to try that. I did not have any of the things she used so, I used this tag & tie die from sizzix along with the snowflakes from the sizzix snowflake 3 die. and let me tell you its a hard thing to line this up when you cannot see through the die... I bet this would be easier with something open like an spellbinders die but my spellbinders tag dies are smaller than this.

these tags were done with the scraps of the scraps used above more or less. the merry Christmas is from SU. the gingham pp is from fresh goods.

this one that pp is called gingham dot from Daisy D's with an Savvy stamps sentiment and a die cut from the sizzix snowflake 3 die.

the button on this one is from a craft buttons pack from Joann's.
