Happy Mail Day {part A}

I am sending this to my mom, you see she does this kind of thing and I say, why don't you take photos. she say's I don't want you to laugh at me. ( Like I ever laugh at anyone) So, ( she's on vacation right now) (and she normally reads this blog) and I said hey, I made you something today and you cannot laugh when you get it... I had come across something on pinterest which lead me to this blog that is exploring the techniques in Tim Holtz's newest book and ( if you don't have one, if you order it direct from him you get an autographed one) So, I had signed up for this blog's news feed and early this morning it sent the first one.the newest challenge is for the altered burlap panel. so, I checked the your book is on its way mail and it said it would be delivered today.
 So, off to Joann's I went to pick up an Burlap panel.
no, of course that is not all that followed me home but, that was the excuse to go in there. This is the one that is the smallest size with 4 of them in the package. (it's stretched on wood like an mounted canvas) I have never really done something like this before ( on burlap ) so, that took me a while to figure out what would fit on this small space too. the first step, I did not have the first thing it said to do so, I made my own using the worn wallpaper stamp with India Ink black on some Kraft colored. The only other thing I am going to do to it is add an photo hanger to the back side. and pop it in the mail. so, no, it's not perfect but, it's kinda neat and I am glad I tried it. it gives me ideas of what I would rather do next.

if that gives you any idea on how small that burlap is. This challenge from that blog CC3C is being sponsored by the Funky Junky Boutique. If you get a chance click over and see what their design team did, it's all so over the top amazing :)
