Dare to get Dirty {day 2}

 A closer look at the coloring done for Angie's challenge seen here.

 The whole card view.

 For Sabrina's Challenge seen here. ( those gingerbread people die were a gift from Paper Sweeties during the summer coffee lovers blog hop) Thanks Debbie!

 For Alba's challenge seen here. When there are so many challenges at once I tend to go more towards the CAS side.

 Something I am saving in anticipation of using... for Sandee's first challenge seen here.

Now this one I goofed. ( I work off a print out of the spread sheet which really only has a little bit of what the challenge will be when it goes live) and so, I missed an important word or three so, this is just for fun and not linked to any of them.
Stamps are from Concord & 9th.

This one was done for Dina's challenge seen here. This long skinny card is 4X7 in real life.

This was done for Lori's challenge seen here. It's 6" square in real life.

This one was done for Susie's challenge seen here (this is a closer look at the coloring that still did not catch the shimmers)

I did watercolor this one and its very blingy in real life, even the black mat is sparkle cardstock. this is a gatefold. that is 5 1/2" square in real life.

This one was done for Teresa's challenge seen here. The base on this one is 4X9 and fits in a business envelope.

Happy Birthday!

Do you ever buy something because, someone else made it look SO COOL? ( ha, this happens to me more often than you would think) (yes, I have a mini store upstairs over my garage but, I still fall for that one... mostly tools but, the last year or two coloring mediums have been fair game in the follow me home parade) This has a couple of those things on them, I seen this gumball machine die from sizzix and loved a sample photo online. One of the very first "decore" items my hubs and I ever bought is a red metal gumball machine, and we still have it upstairs in the hobby room. The flap is a separate piece as well as where the glass dome would be and they are a little 3d in real life. All the pieces were run through the embossing folder that comes with this die and then I water colored the "gum balls". (they didn't look like they did in my head before I tried this) The would be metal parts I rubbed some inka gold apricot and old gold over the bumps. There is also some bo bunny glitter paste on this.I tied some offray ribbon and May Arts iridescent cord around this to give it a festive party look and stamped the Two Paper Diva's sentiment from the banners 1 set on a scrap of the real red paper and die cut that with an avery elle die. It is a free floating sentiment on here. The dotted paper is from the Prima "blush" pad and the background print is from the Basic Grey "Hello luscious" pad. The crochet lace is vintage. This card finishes out at 6" square. Thanks for stopping by :)

Behind You!

As soon as the July release stamps arrived from Two Paper Diva's my very first thought with the days of the week words was you remember when they used to make panties this way? ( for all I know they still do) Okay, it's probably not what you were expecting to see when you stopped by today but, I hope you giggled. The days of the week sentiments are from the Journal It 2 set and the behind you & laundry is from the His & Hers clothesline accessories set.
Each of the clothes were stamped with some Versafine ink on Neenah solar white and watercolored. these were cut out with scissors and I did add some shading with pencils over the top. The border was punched with a Martha Stewart punch and the base is Bazzill. This card finished out at 4" X 9" and fits inside a business envelope.

WOYWW # 372 {now & then}

Happy Wednesday Deskers :) and welcome to the mess, ( I did clean after this was shot) If your wondering why the mess is on display head over to Julia's blog here and you can find the link up for this blog hop and play along.

 So, when you arrive at the top of the stairs if you peer over the top of the table towards the wall where I stand when I play this is the view that would have greeted you on tuesday after work. ( I had to clean before I got just one and a half more cards made)
I know the blog has been quiet but, really I have been doing "secret" stuffs for dare to get dirty. some of what you see is either things that were done for things done or things maybe going to be done. ( not sure yet) the center space has monday's happy mail that I carried up and set down to take this shot. ( the bottom of that pile is a box of Clarity brushes) OOOh did I mention they came in a BOX so impressed with that, I have had paint brushes arrive snapped in half before so, the fact that the mfg boxes them makes me happy. after this was shot I did take one out (the smallest one they are huge) and hold it up next to a toybox stipple brush and wow I do like the bristles on these. ( did not play with them yet maybe soon) will shoot shots when it happens.
 This is what I "would" have posted last week or the week before ( I found the shots in my phone when I sent the above table to my computer last night) this is happy mail from Ellen Hutson ( who had a fourth of July sale) and Papertrey Ink because, I was out of so many colors of cardstock I poked around in their dies section after and a few followed me home.

I have not colored every single day of the 30 day challenge ( again, not surprised) but, when I have colored I have binge colored stacks of things one thing that I have been playing with is these Daniel smith dots using them with my QoR watercolors too. ( so my paint tubes wish list has grown mentally)
It never ends does it?
anyways, we are currently STILL being outside as much as possible right now so, I will work on some garden shots too. the front "deck" ( that will be the bottom of a porch is mostly done now complete with rocking chairs on it) and I have been spending some of that shade time there rocking the last couple of days too. fun stuff. thanks for stopping by :)

Relax & Enjoy!

Lately, it seems like there is just not enough time in the day. Which is funny when you know how long the days last at this time of the year. We have been spending just about every daylight hour in the yard getting some long wished for things done with basic regular upkeep in anticipation of the upcoming garden tour. So, when I do make time to play with my stamps and color or what ever the cards have become more streamlined at the moment. And this sentiment applies to me. I keep telling my self this one frequently. I am very nervous about the garden tour.
Anyways, I know you are here to see the card :) so, the details are the images were both stamped with versamark and heat embossed with WOW! superfine gold powder ( which I am loving you can tell this is a delicate image and I have no stray powder and its not all clunky around the sentiment either). This was colored with QoR watercolors and a smidge of Daniel Smith watercolors. a little bit of shading was added later with pencils and The centers of the blooms have a bit of yellow stickles in the centers. The bloom is Hello Spring and the sentiment is from the life is better in flip flops set. The ribbon is an older one from Making Memories and the Printed paper is from websters pages. This card finishes out at 6" square. Oh and next week I will be back with a silly one from wanna hang out set that is on sale now and journal it 2 from July.

There is also a summertime sale going on now through Sunday at the Two Paper Divas store for 25% off some "summer" themed stamp sets.

but, First Coffee...

So, the Inspiration Challenge last Saturday headed to this black and white collection of art and photos and I chose this one because, I own a sweat shirt with that same sentiment on it... and I thought I had it in a stamp too but, this one from Reverse confetti ( for the love of latte) is as close as I could find when I was digging. the original thought was to do a handful of them in a 3X3 sized card because, I knew it would be very simple but, this sentiment ended up being too big for a card that small to show off the brick embossing folder so, it became A-2 with the sentiment up on slim pop dots.

 We are spending lots of time in the yard right now.
So, simple is about as complicated as its getting when the time to steal away upstairs arrives.
The gates are being designed for across the driveway,  one pole went in yesterday and the other will go tonight.

Two Paper Diva's July New Release Day 2

Welcome to Day two of the newest release from Two Paper Diva's stamps. ( you can find all the newest stamps here in the store) And I am sharing a cute set called sending a little note. ( this set also includes a mailbox image ) These were stamped with Versafine onyx black ink on some Neenah Solar white cardstock and colored with Zig clean brush markers. I have a habit of coloring all the little birds blue and I laugh at my self every time I go to load them after the fact. Because, in my mind they are all "bluebirds of happiness" no matter what kind of bird it really may be. This panel was die cut with a Lawn Fawn large cross stitch die. This plaid print is from Authentique and the base is Bazzill and finishes out at 6" square in real life. You can find all the fun projects from the team here. Thanks for stopping by.

WOYWW #370 {Happy Mail & Coloring}

Happy Wednesday Deskers These are all tuesday desk shots with a monday afternoon garden glimpse. If you have not stopped by on a wednesday before you can find the link up for this blog hop at Jan's blog here while Julia Recuperates.

 Yesterday was day 1 of the current 30 day coloring challenge, and knowing that it was going to be a LONG day at work I grabbed the folding pallet of mostly QoR watercolors and the Daniel Smith dot card from the Hero Arts kit, 3 brushes a plastic well and a few heat embossed ( wplus9) blooms ( which really did not take up much room at all and my desk at work has a glass top on it) so, the work in progress shot before this one made it on to instagram and this is what it looked like when I stopped. so, a few weeks ago I picked up a couple of tubes of a different brand of watercolors and it turns out they are opaque. ( who knew they made that kind? not me, so far up till this point all my watercoloring mediums were translucent) (not, sure I really like them either, because of that) So, I did order a whole complete Daniel Smith dot card to play around with.

 So, while I was at work I received happy mail from Paper Sweeties one of the super sponsors from the recent coffee lovers blog hop and here it is. (I am hopeful about coming home from work earlier today than I have for the last week and hoping to play with it all) I did carry up the painted mums when I went up for this shot yesterday evening and off to the side are things that were used on some of my Dare to get dirty samples. ( any wild guesses?) :) you have your fan club membership active so you can play along with us right?

oh, the garden committee people did come by two Saturday's ago and DO want the Veggie garden on the tour so, this was shot on Monday evening because, they need some mug shots for the paper and the newsletter or something. not sure if they will actually use this photo or not because, they wanted to come take their own yesterday during the middle of the work day and I told them they needed to come by on a weekend if they wanted their own mug shots. ( you know like when we are actually home ha ha) This was shot on a ladder in the southwest corner of the front yard looking east northeast-ish. behind this ladder is pasture that the sheep are grazing in. So, that's about it for me right now. its water, weed & wait season here. and this cold is determined to linger on so, it feels like every "done" thing is a big accomplishment still.

Two Paper Diva's July new release day 1

 Good Morning and Welcome to the July Day 1 new release from Two Paper Diva's. My card has a little something old and something new on it. This cupcake is from the cupcake treat set and the sentiment is from Yes to sprinkles 2. These were both stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink on some Smooth Neenah solar white cardstock. The cupcake was colored with some Zig clean brush markers and topped off with some Martha Stewart chunky snow glitter. I actually have all the glitter in my room in vintage salt shakers so, I don't know the exact name of that glitter anymore but, I bought it for doing snow and winter cards so, that is how I think of it. I think from this angle you can see how much it resembles rock salt. This was diecut with an MFT stitched square die.

The stamped panel is up on popdots over the crochet lace from Micheal's. The printed paper is from Bo Bunny and the base is Bazzill. this one is 6" square in real life. You can find all the new released sets here in the store, and see all the fun projects from the team here on the store's blog. Thanks for stopping by.
