Hope you can cling to {day 31}

This was done for Angie's hope you can cling to challenge seen here. This gal ( inkadinkado) was stamped with memento and colored with copic's and pitt pens on the neenah and the Unitys stamps sentiment was added on behind her. the frilly die cuts have been laying on my table for months ( when I get new toys I tend to cut them from scraps and just leave them in a candy lid waiting to be used. the crinkled silk ribbon was cut by the yard years and years ago in an fabric store so no clue on the mfg. info. that basic grey printed paper I have been hoarding a long time it seems. ( that is one of my favorite lines they have made yet) This one is 6" square in real life. and today... there are 3 challenges... so, for the next one.

was trying to catch the sparkle of the wink of stella pen ( clear ) but, it was being camera shy on the day I shot these. the white dots are from a gel pen.

This was done for Kathleen's challenge seen here ( to do something vastly romantic) I don't know if faeries (emerald faeries willy & mia)  fall into romantic but, the smooching may and I have not colored these guys for a while. so, the Printed paper layers are mostly my minds eye, the sentiment is from SU and on an MFT die cut . This one is also 6" square in real life.

This was done for Lydia's second and final challenge this month seen here. (to use a character from your favorite children's book. ) I don't think I have any stamps that are from any of the books I loved as a child but, I did pick up this stamp sometime when my son was very small because, I did read this one to him. and I thought well it IS Halloween after all so, this is the day all the little monsters come out. and maybe it will make someone laugh. and really that's probably the best thing I can send to these families in this box of hopeful cards is some smiles too. I don't remember what color he is in the book either anymore so, I just decided to go with some brights. this one is 6" square in real life.

I have been adding "extra's" to my box all month so, there will be a peek inside of it before I ship it off coming soon.

Hope you can cling to {day 30}

This was done for Jen's Hope you can cling to challenge seen here (use something that soars) So, I dont know if butterflies "soar" but, they do "take off" the sentiment is from Unity Stamps empowering words and the butterfly is an tim holtz sizzix die ( cut twice) I did add some krylon leafing pens to these the sentiment is red shimmer and the wings are copper. the cheesecloth was stained with antique linen stain. the printed paper is from We R Memory keepers and the base is Neenah this one is 5 1/2" square in real life.

Hope you can cling to {day 29}

This was done for Susie's hope you can cling to challenge seen herebut, the more I think about this I think I should re-name it to "it'sallLydia'sFault" you see its like this, usually it's Dina that causes me to collect supplies... but, the last few months I have been looking at facebook a lot more than I ever have in my life. and did you know Lydia posts links to amazon ( frequently ) just about all the "art" elements on this card followed me home because of that. The sentiment is up on higher pop dots than the bloom which was painted a long time ago and has been gathering dust on the table since then. the flower and the sentiment were both drug through some water-based wax (derwent art bars) on the craft sheet. (you can't really see it on the bloom) The hardwood background was heat embossed with some shabby enamel then I colored over the top of that with some artgraf water color graphite tfl.

Hope you can cling to {day 28}

This was done for Jeanne's hope you can cling to challeng seen here ( pretty pink balloons) at the time that I made this sample I did not own a single balloon stamp that I could find in my room so, I stamped these hearts ( SU & Unity stamps) on the back side of some double sided printed paper scraps from other HYCCT cards and cut them out and popped them up, the strings are glued to the back sides of the hearts and tucked in behind the bear panel. That bear is from Judi Kins. ( colored with copics and gel pens) the sequins I thought looked like confetti. this is an Size 8 shipping tag stained with some ranger stain.

Hope you can Cling to {day 27}

This was done for Tabbatha's hope you can cling to challenge seen here ( use two coloring mediums with a thank-you sentiment) This couple is from Lili of the Valley and the sentiment is from Gina K Designs. they are colored mostly with copic's with some gel pen and wink of stella over the top. the embossed panel has some white paint dragged over the top.

a few more Coffee Mug gift card holders

These are all A-2 in real life, the flap above the cup flips up and there is a slit cut into the cardstock the cup is glue to to tuck a gift card into the hole. so that cardstock is only glued on the edges of it to make a pocket to tuck into. the bows are tied loose with long tails since the buyer/user would need to untie that to place their gift card in and then trim. Sentiment is from SU and the heart is from Unity stamps.

not sure what I am going to ask for these yet but debating between 3.50 and 4.00 but, they are small cards and people here are funny that way with cards over 3.00 and having them small. they may not sell priced that high. Sentiment on this one is from Savvy Stamps.

the flowers are from Prima, Sentiment is from clearly besotted.

 this ones sentiment is from Unity stamps with some A Muse Christmas text paper.

Sentiment is from Stampin Up with vintage lace.

Sentiment is from Gina K designs.

Coffee Gift card holders

So, I started saving dutch brothers lids a few months ago, and maybe a week or so ago I painted the tops of a mess of them with some "country white" acrylic paint. this is probably hard to see but the debossed lid filled with paint says "You got this." these lids usually make me smile, so. I thought they would be fun on gift card holders and I knew I had this AI (Art Impressions) stamp that was supposed to be a gift card holder but, you know I never used it for this because, I knew the cup was not wide enough to hid the card... there is now a slit cut in the cardstock that the cup is glue to wide enough for a card and the top of the card stock is scored at 1" down from the edge to fold over to glue the lid to. so all of these cards are A-2 in real life. that same cardstock is only glued on the edges of the piece so the gift card can tuck through. scroll down to the open version.

this is what it looks like "open" so, I started thinking. well, these would be cute for the booth. and then you know how that goes. I ended up stamping this cup a good 2 dozen times and cutting them all out. ( there are still more pieces on the table at the moment) and I thought.

Okay if you are selling them then the people have to be able to get the gift card inside the flap and tie it off so, I thought maybe I would package them like this... and then have since decided against that. they are all closed with lose bows tied now with (extra long tails on the seambinding) so that way when they get it together the way they want it they can trim the tails. this one I tried sanding off some of the paint after it was die cut and it says "its all good"

not all of them got db lids but, I do have quite a few "coffee" related sentiments and sets so, a bunch of them are must mixed and with other stamps. this particular one I used the bold daisy darice folder on some shimmery rusty thin cardstock and then put some yellow ( in your face bright haha) acrylic paint into the embossed holes on the petals to mimic that yummy graphic 45 paper.

the hero sentiment is from A Muse.

This one the long skinny sentiment is unity stamps and the tiny joy is from Stampendous with some basic grey pp.

the ribbon tails are so long that they just flop over if I stand these cards upright if you were wondering why they all look like they need a cup of joe.

this one the db lid says hello, bestie

the tag sentiment is from Unity stamps

this one says smile

the lace is vintage.

This sentiment on the cup is a newer one from SU. The one on the tag I think comes with the AI cup stamp.

The for you is SU and I have to look for the other one but, best guess is MFT.

the cup on the left the sentiment is SU the cup on the right is Verve

this is probably becoming my most over used sentiment I just love this one ( Unity Stamps)

the one on the left is Verve and the one on the right is Unity. and there will probably be more of these sooner or later. the thing is I am in hurry up and make stuff mode so, you may only get just photos for the next little while without all the chatter.

Hope you can cling to {day 26}

This was done for Teresa's hope you can cling to challenge seen here its a recipe challenge using the letters of BOOBS so, something black, something circular, a round gem, Something blue, and use a sentiment. So, I was just standing there staring off into space and thought what if... so, its probably not at all what she thought someone would do for this challenge but, I kind of like how it turned out. the big bloom is an Prima flower, the blue trim is vintage, the round tag is an PTI die cut, the sentiment is (i forgot either an SU stamp or MM letters) the blue brad is taking the place of the gem.

10.25.2014

Hope you can cling to {day 25}

This was done for Kelli's hope you can cling to challenge seen here: ( bokeh) so, this was colored with some water based markers. (every single one I own from SU & Ranger haha) both stamps are from Impression Obsession and this is an one layer card. I had done all of my samples for this entire month in advance off an spread sheet so, I did not use the tutorial for this one.  It is A-6 in real life.

10.24.2014

Hope you can cling to {day 24}

This was done for Robin's Hope you can cling to challenge seen here: (resist) so, I ended up using this texture spray resist tutorial from Beate found here. ( because, I have not tried this before) It was actually really easy and quick to do. the avery tag was walnut inked and the Hugs sentiment is from Stampendous. that turtle is an old one from SU but, I don't remember its set name. there is a layer of mulberry paper under this for some texture and the printed paper I think is memory box. on an Pistachio base this one is 5 1/2" square in real life.

10.23.2014

Hope you can cling to {day 23}

This was done for Debbi's hope you can cling to challenge seen here. ( use tissue) the pink tissue paper is the one that My Favorite things wraps their orders in and I had saved it from the last box because, it was such a pretty color and the blueprint starfish is heat embossed in gold on this. the ric rac is vintage as is that button at the top of the tissue. the printed paper is from K & Co. and the sentiment is from Gina K. This one is 6" square in real life.

10.22.2014

Hope you can cling to {day 22}

This was done for my own Hope you can cling to challenge, you can find all the details for this one here. basically the idea is everyone can use an I love you card. but, the catch is... don't put the words I love you onto the cover of the card. make it visually say I love you with out those words. It's ok to add it to the inside if you want but, you need to stamp the sentiment a second time with the interior sentiment with a note that says this sentiment is stamped in side so people at the hospital who are looking at the cards do not have to open all the wrappers to see that the card is not blank inside. ( most are) because, we have no way of knowing who is going to use the card for what reason. This particular image is from Stamping Bella I think it is the very first mo manning stamp I ever bought. its a little smaller than some of the more recent purchases and the sentiment is from Stampin Up. ( always) this card is 6" square in real life.

10.21.2014

Hope you can cling to {day 21}

This was done for Patricia's Hope you can cling to challenge seen here. ( use random splatters of ink) I had run the gingham through an landscape style embossing folder with sheet music on it and inked the impression with some vintage photo but, the white ink splatters did not show up when dry, so I grabbed this yellow one thinking it would show up and it splurted out everywhere ( and was too many splatters) but, such is life. things don't go the way we plan for them to even when you have a friend to carry the bat. This one is A-7 in real life and the sentiment is from Riley & Co.

10.20.2014

Hope you can cling to day {20}

This was done for Julie's hope you can cling to challenge seen here. ( make a smooshed background) This background was done with some watercolor paper and dylusions ink & water when it was dry it was die cut with the Tim holtz sizzix trellis die and I scrambled the pieces. I used the negative parts to line these up like a stencil with removable adhesive and left a space to put the sentiment on. I'm sure anyone undergoing treatment would be able to park this on their mantle or somewhere else in their home for a laugh when company drops in. this one is 5 1/2" square in real life.

10.19.2014

Hope you can cling to {day19}

This was done for Barbara's hope you can cling to challenge seen here. ( use spreadable paste) the leaves are an brass stencil that had some plaid dimensional paint ( it has a gritty texture just like embossing paste actually) through the hole of the stencil then had gold glitter sprinkled on while wet. this one is A-6 in real life.

10.18.2014

Hope you can cling to {day 18}

These are 3" square in real life and done totally from scraps on the table for Gail's challenge for hope you can cling to seen here. (keeping connected) I was thinking that you know I may do a few more with this theme as the month goes a long using a different stamp. There are 12 of them in this photo. the sentiment/image is an itty bitty from Unity stamps and is done in Versafine onyx black. these were diecut with a classic square die. the insides are not lined so, I did not use any really dark colors of cardstocks for the bases.

10.17.2014

Hope you can cling to {day 17}

This was done for Edna's hope you can cling to challenge seen here ( feature the binding of the card) these shipping tags were run through the embossing folder before they were drug through the stain/water on the craft sheet. This sentiment is from that new SU set called perfect pennants and it us up on pop dots.

This card is A-6 in real life, and I don't know anymore the name of that sheer ribbon. but, its one of those get it cut by the yard ones from scrap stores. something creative is all I remember.

10.16.2014

Hope you can cling to {day 16}

This was done for Paula's hope you can cling to challenge seen here. ( use no stamps) This is and piece of watercolor paper that was dyed/dripped with some different dylusions sprays. ( the color changes were after each previous color had dried so, I didn't end up with mud.) The reddish dots were done with the corner of an krylon paint pen ( red shimmer) after the dried background had been run through the embossing folder for this texture. the scrabble tiles are authentic game pieces and that ribbon is the new linen one from SU. the base is GKD cranberry. this one is A-7 in real life.

10.15.2014

Hope you can cling to {day 15}

This was done for Natalie's hope you can cling to challenge seen here. ( add something soft) Those leaves are diecut ( came that way) felt and the lace is extremely soft to touch. the printed paper is from bo bunny and MME. the sentiment is from Stampabilities. this one is 5 1/2" square in real life.

10.14.2014

Hope you can cling to {day 14}

This was done following the directions on Sandy Hulart's blog after googling "step card" for Kimberly's Hope you can cling to challenge seen here. This is 6" square when folded flat. I have to say I am not a fancy folds kind of a card maker and I did choose this one because, there was not many cuts and folds to make AND it was for a 6" card.

and I think that I kind of like how it turned out. but, would I make it again? only if it's on a challenge list for something like this where they came up with you know you need a multiple fold card etc etc and my back was to the wall. Today also happens to be my 25th wedding anniversary and Sierra's birthday so, I think those cards will follow in another post later.

10.13.2014

Hope you can cling to {day 13}

This was done for Susie's challenge seen here: (use music, birds, encouragement card) The bird was stamped over the stained tag then colored with prisma pencils and a little bit of copic markers. the sentiment was stamped on a scrap of insulation pink ( which is quickly becoming my go-to pink color this year) and the felt ribbon that is stapled on the tag came from Michaels during Christmas a few years ago. the vintage sheet music was from a tattered book I picked up at yard sale a long time ago with missing/torn pages its been inked along the edges with some vintage photo distress. this is A-7 in real life.

Some Fall Pumpkins

Spent some time coloring early sunday morning as the sun came up. and then had some time to turn the pumpkin ones into cards that evening.

This one the pumpkin is from Stampa Rosa and the sentiment is hero arts ( with some WeRmemory keepers printed paper) this one is 6" square ( and so are all the others )

Penny Black pumpkins with an Stampin Up sentiment same pad of printed paper with some maybe Making Memories ribbon.

an Stampers Anonymous tim holtz blueprint pumpkin with a ( have to go look already forgot) sentiment. this printed paper was from an bo bunny pad.

Same Pumpkin just different shades in coloring and stamping with an Unity stamps sentiment.
Fall is my favorite season.
