Just some Quickies

This LoveyBella is an wishrak image from Sandye C. ( SGC) and the basic black cardstock has the filigree background heat embossed in PINK. then the W*E*L*C*O*M*E sentiment is from PeebsMama ( Susan ) and i trimmed it with scissors then layered it to an word window punchie. Its on top of an Heidiswapp pink plastic flower.
The Teachabella is an WishRak image from Sue Stroyzk, and the fine lace background is stamped in Not Quite Navy. ( tone on tone) the pp are from Imginisce (sp?) The thank-you is from the su set called fancy flexible phrases and is punched out with Martha Stewart tag punch then tied on with the new style su gold thread ( whats in the little Christmas flyer books) and its different, fun thing i noticed about it is it does not unravel like the old style thread.
This Clickabella is an granted wish from JulieMLacey. Shes on the same papers as the teachabella card, and the Welcome is punched out with an punchbunch scallop oval then matted with an Yellow sized Marvy scallop oval, ( these do not line up the same but, don't look too bad together.) Its up on pop-dots. Another thing i have noticed about stamping Bella images is it seems like the newer released images are Larger { and therefore easier to color haha}
Now these i just wrecked these, so when the ink is dry again I'm going to try going over the top of the background of the box with pencils, i wanted to add some color to it and i used a very pale neutral tomobow brush marker to add some color, but it activated the reds and pinks colored elsewhere and dragged the color in... so anyways, all of these My Favorite Things hot stuff images were Wishes i received almost right when i first joined wish rak and they were gifted to me by two different people and i have all the images inside one baggie together... printed paper on this one is Basic Grey, textured cardstock is Bazzill and ribbon is May Arts.
This one i colored to be able to use this double ruffled May Arts ribbon. :)
the fine lace is chocolate ink on Carmel cardstock.
this one uses up more scraps, the filigree is heat embossed on the black cardstock and the pink mat layer has some spiral punchies along the top. ribbon is unknown and the Welcome is from the SU set fancy flexible phrases.

Happy Mail

This super cute card came all the way from Canada from Shelia {Babs2g} from the scs wish rak birthday rak! She says the frog atc was made by Jennifer Farmgirl_78.
This one came to me from Linda Lindylou1220 also from scs wishrak, I recently asked for India Ink black to be tested to be hopefully added to the acceptable list for wishes and these are images i mailed to Linda to test, and if you look very close at the centers of the in between the petals of the flowers there is some very slight green bling bling. really pretty. I think that she may have stamped the sentiment twice too to get the shadow effect of the two colors of ink.
This is an Halloween card from Nancy, {DirectMailScrapper} in the stampshack, this is an gatefold card and it had fun Halloween confetti inside ( which my cat keeps trying to steal the jack-o-lantern piece) the bottom circle works like a tab to keep the card closed.
This birthday card has resist stamping on the glossy cardstock that was hard to catch, hopefully you can see it, It came to me for my birthday from Lidia { MidwestStamper } in the stampshack.
This one was made by Joanie {CCStampin12} in the stampshack and the flower is 3-d with a pink rhinestone in the center. the leaves are layered cardstock too.
This one was made by Sherri { I love flipflops } from the stamp shack, and I just love how she paper pieced the top part where the frosting is, ( i haven't tried that yet with mine )
This one came to me from Pam { Smiley Collector } in the stamp shack, and its an gatefold card and the little hedgehogs are attached to the left side. Its almost impossible to see, but the printed paper background with the spots was embossed with circle patterned cuttlebug folders ( don't know its real name haha)
This last birthday card is also from Nancy {DirectMailScrapper} in the stamp shack and it too is an gatefold card with the Kitty attached on the left side and the circle attached on the right to keep the card closed. I am really liking this design and plan to tinker with something to do some similar types of closures soon. :)
( ah thanks for the birthday wishes ladies, my birthday is actually next week so, its been such a fun month this month to go to the mail box.)

Home

ah is that the best thing or what when you get to sleep in your own bed again? :) Tim and I went to Portland, on Monday. then i had 4 Dr. appointments on Tuesday at the Health and science university then we drove home yesterday and so several days without enough sleep is enough to make you want to go to bed (NOW) which since its the middle of the afternoon is a really bad idea. :) so Monday night when we got there we decided we'd try walking from the hotel to the hospital. Bad idea, its at the top of a hill. there is no sidewalk, about half way up there. there is even no where to walk on the side of the road, the guard rails are right up against the pavement. So, we didn't set sight of it until Tuesday am. The truck was too tall to even go into the parking garage, ( someone had told me they had over sized parking on the bottom floor, but they have some parking near where cars try to enter the garage so, we ended up parked there. the first appointment was hearing and devices evaluations. so, after a few tests they reached the conclusion that the type of loss i have is almost total and not much different between ears nor between noises or vibrations. so the cochlear implant i will receive is an "bionic" under the skin kind. which heals and becomes use able alot faster then the other that is embedded into the skull. so, in as little as a month i could have the surgery ( its not scheduled yet) and two weeks after that i would go back for the outside processor and (everything else) to hear again. If the surgery happens that fast i have about one week to decide which implant co.'s products i want. ( there are two, I'm not sure I really understand the technical parts of the differences between them or not yet) haven't really had time to read everything yet either. have looked at all the photos though. smile. basically i have to tell them 3 weeks in advance what i want so they can get it made for me. So, then after spending the morning doing this things then we went and i had a CT scan ( we got there early and it was done right away) then we waited, and we waited and we waited some more, finally about an hour after the appointment for the MRI was supposed to have started i asked at the desk when i would start as i had an appointment to meet the surgeon at 3 pm. some one says oh maybe 30 minutes from now and the test will take 45-1 hour to do... (so, then that lady calls the surgeons office and they say oh well if you miss the appointment i guess you can re-schedule) ack! so, this lady gets on the phone and they send me to get the MRI in a different part of the hospital where they have these patients all lined up in their hospital beds in the hallway and they put me in front of all of them i felt really bad for these people who were waiting, but the gist of it turned out to be about only 5 minutes late so i ended up only 15 minutes late and the surgeon waited. whew so, that was a relief. so, i have this huge list of things to get done soon, Meningitis Vaccination tops the list, and so on and so on. I have opened all the Mail that has arrived, and I have a pile of Birthday cards, I want to photograph them and get the thank-you's underway but, it could be a few days. and so, its just really great to be Home again.

Today

In last nights mail i received this Fern Lace Background stamp (su 1997) from an recent eBay win (brand spanking new not even mounted) that just seems so funny to me that someone would have held on to a stamp for 10 years without playing with it, i don't know about you, but the first thing i do when i get a new stamp is play with it. (and or mount it) :) the lace is stamped with Versafine Olympia green on Always Artichoke cardstock, then the Joy (a different su set) is stamped with the same ink on Very Vanilla cardstock then colored with markers (and you cant see it in this shot, but also sakura gelly roll pens) The ribbon is an recent Joann's find. (holiday ribbon)
Now this is really cool or is that totally cool? lol this is a Medium sized bag and so far i have put about half of my pencils into it with some spare adhesives and scissors and such. the center i have tucked a few images to color that i want to play with next. ( the idea behind this one is it will be easier to take with me then a bucket full of pencils and then something else for everything else...
Now here's the best part, i stopped at Biglots today on the way home from work and this is 10.00 there... they also had them in a baby ish blue color combo too. ( along with some AMM ribbon box things and some itty bitty magnetic closure albums) which i did not buy, but, if your an AMM fan maybe an trip to Biglots in your neck of the woods will find you something happy too. ( Ive read rumors that the leather purses are being found at some peoples big lots ~ Not mine) :)

Playing Catch-Up with some Happy Mail

This one arrived last night from Dawn the colors are even yummier in person... :) Thanks Dawn! I was so surprised to find this in the mail box.
This one came to me from an wish-rak member (Xeyedlyza) Elizabeth F. and its just 3 1/2" square in size. ( and i don't know where she got it but she has perfectly sized envelopes that little too) :) funny what we notice about other stampers cards eh?
This one came to me from Annette at the stamp shack. ( BuggainOK)
This one came to me from Pat G. in Canada from the stamp shack, i was trying to catch the googly eyeballs on the frog on the edge of the cauldron when I was shooting this one, and i didn't notice i had the rest of the card crooked. (ack) its really straight in real life though, this is a Halloween card for my birthday.
This one has arrived for my birthday this year from StampingMeg, Thanks Meg!! All the cake and words are all embossed and textured. really neat looking.
I've had this one a while, but it ended up in my stamped images box because it was stuffed to the gills with things to play with including some of those Asian images Flexie has been playing with on her blog recently.
Now this was just a plain grey steel file box i found at a yard sale a couple of months ago for .50 cents... i painted it red then added some basic grey paper to it and that was as far as i got with it, because the intention was to use it to file all the wish rak images and stamped images i have received from Internet friends... but, i have never gotten around to finishing the box, because i started using it. and now its FULL.
I did make some labels, but at the moment most the images have been moved from the envelopes they arrived in into Ziploc sandwich baggies, and now i am wondering if that was not such a great idea either since the baggies seem to take up a bit of room at the top of the box where all the zippers are... so, I may have to figure out something else.
a) stop making so many wishes
b) steal more time to make cards faster
lol
Yesterday i received these froggie images with frog sentiments in the mail from HeyHeyPaula, and then when i went to the board to post her thank-you, I seen another post that the lady who is in charge of the wish-rak group feel off her roof last weekend so, she is (hopefully recuperating at home) but, there is a card shower request for her using images (or things) you received from wishrak, so this is a little something i sent to her this am. ( and it won't get posted at sps for a few days so i know she's received it first)

Thanks-You's (from scraps)

these were done with the last of the crate paper scraps on the table, this one is for DH hunting buddy ( who will have our furbaby while we are gone) and the barely blue mini brads are from lasting impressions. the Lab is from PSX 9E-701 from 1990 and is Stamped in versafine vintage sepia on Papertrey white cardstock and then colored with an tombo 990 marker. ( this is the color of his friends lab which is getting older and this breed tends to pick up weight as they age so, it really does fit) The thank-you is from Su (All holidays) and stamped in versafine Onyx Black.
This one is for DH's parents who will have ds while we are gone, the Wine Image is from Inkadinkado, and the thank-you is from SU fancy Flexible Phrases set, this was punched with an Martha Stewart tag punch (ek success) and the gold thread is the (original kind) from SU. The pale blue shimmer and they gold shimmery cardstock are from an scrapbook store in Medford, and not labeled with the mfg. info.

Color Challenge Combo 2

This is this months color combo for the Stamp Shack's Creative team challenges: something really over the top i guess, this card would take alot of postage to mail... I've considered switching it out with the one i have already made and signed for Tim ( 18 years ago today we were married) but, its a little on the feminine side, so I'll probably set it aside for the next wedding card i need. this crop view catches some of the bling really nice, yes?
Image is from PSX its stamped in versafine onyx black, then colored with markers and pencils. the basic black cardstock has been spray painted with krylon webbing spray (gold) i do this out side when the wind is not blowing do stacks of different colors then lay them all over Tim's work bench till the fumes go away and the cardstock is dry. ( So i have a small stack of this sprayed cardstock to play with usually all the time in various colors)
front view, ribbons are from May Arts on both of these cards, the cream bling handmade paper is from an big pack that is sold at costco. (not sure who makes it, it was a gift from mil ( she bought all the color packs then divided them to share with me so no wrappers here to peek at) the burgundy cardstock was run through an cuttlebug D'vine swirls embossing folder then there is some sakura gelly roll pen (gold) in the debossed parts and there is also some Krylon gold paint pen along the edges of the layers, used that SU ticket corner punch on the corners too.
this is my simple version of the color combo ( burgundy, creamm black and gold) the SU butterfly was stamped with versamark ink then heat embossed with Ranger super fine detail gold powder, the Hampton Arts sentiment is stamped in versafine onyx black ink, and the black textured cardstock is from Bazzill and the cream cardbase is from Neenah Papers.

shot from Last thursday? ( Ive lost track of the days) Tim was sick last week so guess who he has shared his germs with??)
anyways a few days ago all i did was push around some of the scraps of crate paper on my desk to kinda become card fronts, i intended to sew these up and make cards with them yesterday, but yesterday i did not even set foot in my space. ( went from the sofa to bed, to the computer and back again after i got home from work)
this was just taken a few minutes ago, today i am feeling better. ( whew )
so far I have turned some of these scraps into cards and one fits a SOF challenge at peas...
This is an Old PSX image G-2239 from 1997 that i found on eBay recently and it worked out to be cheaper to buy this one stamp then to buy the retired su set ( which i do have wished images to play with) so, i bought it. Its stamped with Versafine Vintage sepia ink on Papertrey white cardstock. Its colored with Tombo Markers # 076,& 946 and an SU marker bordering blue. The scrap pp's are from Crate Paper, and the blue shimmery cardstock i believe is Bazzill ( but not positive).
This is my SOF un-Christmas challenge card, the lab puppy is also an older PSX image F-2569 and its stamped with versafine vintage sepia also on paper trey white, the puppy is colored with tombo 990. the basket is ruby red, and the blankie is brocade blue markers. the Sentiment is from the SU set "peaceful wishes" and is stamped with the vintage sepia on the shimmery blue. the ribbon is one i bought a few yards of a few years ago at Joann's when they had it cheap because they re-did there cut ribbon section and i have no idea who makes it, its stiffer then my roll of su organdy that's about the same size in width.that's mostly it for today, if i can get peas to cooperate ( IE it keeps closing my browser when i am there says its an adobe flash problem for which there is no cure yet) I will be drawing a name for the Time Lapse challenge players rak too! I also have some Happy Mail to shoot too, received a few more birthday cards, and Tami's fall round robin has arrived back to me too... :)

No time to post...

This was done with an wish rak image from Pinkstampergirl ( Kerry) thanks so much, for my mother in law whose birthday is coming up this next saturday. I am planning to give all the images of this cruisabella that were raked to me to her also. ( its OK to post it we had to give her her things today since we wont be seeing her on the actual day) I have colored her with prisma pencils, the pp is from CratePaper, the ribbon is from May Arts, and there's a bit of machine sewing thread. the gold cardstocks from Bazzill and the sentiment is from the SU set called all holidays and stamped in Versafine Vintage sepia. this is 5X7 in real life.
This one is kinda a scraplift of the welcoming card i received to the rak group, the ruffled blooms are stamped on really rust card stock with versafine ink then i added some black stickles to the dots of the flower. the pp is from Basic Grey, the sentiments from Hero Arts and the copper organdy is a generic ( no name brand) spool from Craft wear house. all they say on the spools are like 25 yards and made in china... ( cheap stuff )like less then 3.00 for the spool.
This one all i did was add a loop of ribbon around the dots and Daisy's background on this card from Saturday.
So this is what my table looked like at the end of Sunday afternoon. I haven't been up stairs since so, hopefully i can go now... :)

10.07.2007

some things from yesterday

This card was done for Flexie's Card sketch challenge in the sunroom yesterday morning, the dots and Daisy's was stamped in barely banana, the petals were colored with so saffron then there is copper stickles glitter glue in the centers. this is on GP110 cardstock and then the Sisters ( Catslife Press) are stamped with Cognac Hybrid pallet ink on Paper trey white, there is some vintage photo distress ink on the edges of this and the sentiment ( hero arts ) which is stamped with really rust dye ink. the base cardstock is also really rust ink. I'm thinking i may tinker with this a bit and add a ribbon along the left side. its a little naked looking to me. but, i mostly like the colors. there is tea dye distress stippled across every white cardstock on this one.
this was done for Deloris shadow stamps challenge. the bonus to it was if you used only Hero Arts stamps you got an extra ticket for doing it... the HA row of Jubilee dots is stamped in memories dye ink soft sage on PaperTrey white cardstock, the Dec 25th, HO HO HO, and love from all of us are stamped with Tombow markers # 845 & # 192. the green ribbon was salvaged from a christmas package to me last year so (unknown) the Real red (SU) cardstock had been spray painted with Krylon gold webbing spray and there is krylon gold paint pen on the edges of the cardstock also. after i went along the edges randomly with an Eucalyptus Stickles glitter glue. remember most the challenges posted for SOF at two peas you have all week to work on them and the ones with RAKS are being drawn next saturday.
I offered to do a misc. rak for SOF this time around since i was doing some tutorials for the sunroom and so my own challenge on the board there is SOF time lapse. ( take mug shots of your space this week as you wreck or clean your room or even get one of your self in there) and add them to the thread in the stamp gallery. its possible to edit your own posts so, if you put in one photo now you can add another in a day or two by changing the number on how many photos part during the edit, after you change the number then hit update and more uploading boxes will appear at the bottom of the page.
this was just for me at the end of what felt like the LONGEST day. :) I had this stamp out for one of the wish rak's i did and i had done them in some fallish colors for fun, this particular one i colored all the petals with an Gelly roll gold pen. was trying for an angle shot to catch the bling bling. the orange is not quite so bright in real life.
this one the colors are more realistic. the sentiment is stamped with Versafine ink ( cant remember the color name but, its kinda an olive limeish green) the dots and Daisy's background is stamped with Cognac Palette hybrid ink on Pumpkin Pie cardstock, the white cardstock is from Paper Trey and the green textured card base is bazzill. the sentiments from A Muse Artstamps and punched with the (blue size) scalloped oval then i did an Pink scallop oval from the green club scrap paper i have but it was too much trim to suit me so i took some scissors and trimmed it down to about 1/16 of an inch i guess.the flowers growing and the sentiment are up on pop dots and the ribbon (trim) is from May Arts.

It SNOWED!

I spent some time this am sipping coffee watching snow fall... BRRR! :) Its stopped now though ( Whew! ) I have lots of flower pots and things to empty and put away in the garden shed before it gets serious about this whole turn into winter now that its fall thing... ran up stairs intending to put together some wishes this am. Today's a late start day at schools here, and ended up tossing together this card real quick. the white cardstock is from PaperTrey and the flower image is from the SU set called art of life, its stamped with Earth Elements SU watercolor crayons direct to rubber. ( sprayed misted water on the rubber then colored the crayons on the rubber damp ) The sentiment is from A Muse and it (teeny tiny even for an amuse stamp) but, it reads, " May your house always be too small to hold all your friends" ~ IRISH Proverb its stamped in Cognac Pallet Hybrid ink. ( I picked up two of these pads to play with and am liking what i see soo far. :) ) There is Shabby Shutters distress ink on the edges of the white cardstock and Worn Lipstick distress on the edges of the Fancy Pants PP. the ribbons from May Arts. and the whole card is 5X7 in real life. Keep warm! and get your space ready for this weekend, there is so much going on around the net for cardmakers starting saturday. :)

Mounted my Bellas {& other random thoughts}

ha you ever have an UGLY card day? that turns it self around and you end up with some really cool cards you LOVE but, you cant share them yet because they are for an assignment, so you keep going and end up the day with MORE Ugly cards?!?! lol so, how was your day dear?
This was done with some scraps of things i do love that you'll just have to check in next week if you want to see them... this is the one that made me decide it was time to call it a day.
Now this i just a little something from yesterday. the image and sentiment are stamped on cream hammermil cardstock from staples. ( before i stamped on it) i patted and rubbed some Vatican Wine Chalk finish ink from Fresco on it... so the image is from Inkadinkado, and the sentiments from SU. they are stamped in Versafine Onyx black. the edges have gold paint pen on them then the whole thing is A-2 in size in real life. as simple as this is i really like this one, the color's yummy to me and its ah maybe even will work for a guy card, or a grown up card anyways... seems to me the people i give cards to are not quite as impressed with the cards i make with 50 layers and the latest embellishments on them. so simple is good.
this is something fun i found last Saturday at linen's & Things, its a drawer organizer bin thing... but the cards inside it the largest one is 3X3 in real life. so, as i cut up these odd strips of cardstock i have started scoring them and trimming them up to be Square little gift tag size things... left them on the table so i wouldn't forget about them either.
Yep, its true all my Bella's and fellas have become wood mounted stamps.
this is like such a "thing of beauty" for me. I have also mounted all the rubber i own that was unmounted, the TAC sets, the POD flowers, the MaVincis's Alphabets and number sets, all of them, every last rubber has a block and an index sticker now...
so today i ordered a whole pile more of these iris project cases from staples and they are supposed to arrive tomorrow.
Life is good :)
