Paper and Such Faux Stitched

This challenge is for fake stitching, which if you have looked at this blog more then once or twice you'd already know I actually machine stitch on pretty much everything. So, I find it more of a challenge then most people to try and doodle some stitches on things. I added some stitches to Melvin from the Melvine and Susie set to give him a little bit of an stuffed animal effect. There is also three lines of faux stitching framing the printed paper of this card also.

This card is 5 1/2" square in real life, the base is PTI kraft and the printed paper is from Me and My Big Ideas. the sentiment and Melvin image were stamped on some Neenah solar white and colored with copic markers. these were cut out and layered to the printed paper layer. So, it's actually an fairly flat and maybe even an clean & simple design. ( for me ;) )

Because of You

Had some down time at work today so found some time to peek at challenge blogs... so this is a combo of two of them, from Ippity the challenge is "flowers" from the shabby tea room there is an inspiration photo to pull colors from and it needs buttons, ribbon/twine and stitching... So had both of these printed out and a few others on the table tonight and it just kinda morphed. but, did not get ribbon or twine onto this card ( its scrappers floss in the button holes) so... not going to link it to that. but did add their link here in case you have time to try one. to me the Inspiration craft room had some bright pops of color to it. and that is something I rarely do ( bright cards )
the Ippity Now and Always flower was stamped repeatedly on scraps of basic grey, MME & graphic 45 printed papers and cut out, wanted it to look like a bouquet so did some direct onto the basic grey background panel also with versafine deep lagoon. added some distress marker ( tumbled glass ) to the edges of the largest petals. The lace and the blue button are vintage, the other buttons are from Basic Grey. the base is 6" in real life ( bazzill ) The sentiment (and flag) are also from Ippity from the love in return set. The machine stitching is only in the basic grey panel so not visible inside. thanks for these challenges ladies!

Blue Snow

Colored this snow angel from the paper and such snowfolks set a week or so ago and its just been way too hot to be upstairs. today we got a break in the heat and so, luckily this went together really quickly. In my head when I was coloring it, I had thought it would become more blue's and browns and rustic looking. the snowangel is stamped on neenah and colored with copic markers and cut out, Its layered to an old canvas stitched tag. ( mind is totally blank on the mfg for this tag but, I bought it this way) The red ribbon is from May Arts and the burlap pp is from paper pizzazz. the yellow check pp is from Memory Box and the red pp is unknown. the Kraft base is 5" square in real life. The button is vintage with some Karen foster scrappers floss in it. the mini brads are from recollections. This one is totally blank of an sentiment at the moment until I decide who is going to get it. PS there is an Pity Party going on now at Paper and Such. ( Pity we are not at CHA...) so, the sale is free shipping.

Wired Bird Blessings

You know I have printer issues. ( always ) so, this week I could not print the card I was thinking about trying for FS at splitcoast and ( it was square with a bling bird in the center of a very CAS design) and so, I *thought* I could pull it off from the top of my head Knowing I had this little bird colored with some copic markers. ( this was RAK'd to me this image a long time ago, I no longer remember who sent it or who makes the stamp sorry) its inked on the edges with some creamy brown fluid chalk ink and machine stitched to some teresa collins tan pp. the fence boards pp is from MME. the sentiments from Unity Stamps done on a scrap of sand speckletone and die cut with a spellbinders tag die. the button brad is unknown. this is 4 1/4" square in real life.

Paper and Such Sew Glad

That is a real vintage sewing pattern tissue paper sewn to the crate paper. the Heart String's sentiment is stamped on some cream Neenah and the edges are inked with creamy brown chalk. this is up on pop dots above the shipping tag that was stained with some fiber scraps walnut ink tintz Verdigris color. the button's are vintage. there is some cream hemp string in the largest one. You can buy this set now, did you get your's yet? from Paper and Such.

This card is 6" square in real life, the lace and crochet flower are also vintage, the base pp is from My Minds Eye, the fabric stitched corners are from Making Memories.

a Peek at the inside.
edges were done free hand with pinking shears and some creamy brown chalk ink.

Sometimes

I've had a jello mold on the table filled with these little wood butterfly shapes from studio calico for a while now. finally got around to using a couple of them. ( they were color dusted with distress inks) rusty hinge and black soot.

With some kaiser pearls in the centers. same distress inks were used on the scrap run through the sizzix brick wall folder.

Sentiment's from the Paper and Such set called "friendship". If its hard to read in those colors it says
"Sometimes you put walls up, not to keep people out but to see who cares enough to break them down"  the black May Arts crochet trim can also be found at the paper and such store. the text pp is from K&Co. and the doily pp is a scrap ( and it's not a scrap that has mfg info on the back) the Base is Bazzill and this one is 6" square in real life.

Cooking Frogs...

So, it did not photograph well but her eyeshadow has some blue gelly roll glaze pen work on it, as does the edges of the daisy's. ( Rubbernecker frog)

There is an internet joke going around involving bullfrogs and cooking... so, this was done for that tongue in cheek. the Rubbernecker frog, I stamped with Memento and colored with copic's & gellyroll pens. she is up on pop dots. the green gingham pp is from reminisce and the green solid pp is from basic gray. the ribbon on the front is sheer generic and bright green May Arts. the gina K sentiment is stamped with some Spanish Moss versafine and die cut with an spellbinders tag die, the heart brad is from MM.

So, this is what happens to that pretty frog if you try to teach her to cook... This one came to me via Wish Rak or the PIF threads ( don't remember anymore ) and I've colored it with copic markers also and then used the River City Rubberworks sentiment to cover up that its slipping on a banana peel. I wanted it to mostly look like Red Alert, I Don't cook! type of an image. so the Ribbon on the inside is May Arts and the pp are the same as the front. this one's 6" square in real life.

Paper and Such Red, White and Blue

This was done for the current Paper and Such design blog challenge to create something red, white & blue.
This sentiment is from the Paper and Such set called Just Sayin' It is stamped with some Black versafine ink onto the K&Co. pp. I did add some enamel accents white to the corners of this pp panel, but this card was wet when it was shot so they look a little bit see-through in the dimensional parts that way. the ric rac is vintage.

this panel is machine stitched to the denim scrap and that is up on pop dots.

The bandana printed paper is from Flair designs, the blue shimmer is from Die cuts with a view. this card is A-6 in real life. You do have a chance to win an random prize for this challenge if you enter. ( you dont have to use paper and such stamps to play either) good luck!

Paper and Such July New Release Blog Hop

Hi, Welcome to my blog. If you've come here from Stephanie's blog your right on track. if not you can click on the list and see all the samples for this new stamp set Heart Strings from Paper and Such.

StacySheldon - Guest DT {you are here}

I Was thinking when I seen this heart strings set from Paper and Such for the first time that the set would lend itself to a new home card really easily. and so here is another look for that idea. The stitched home image is stamped on some neenah solar white and colored with copic markers. the sentiment was added and then this was die cut and the edges were inked with creamy brown chalk ink. this panel is up on pop dots.

The key is from K&Co. and only dimensional on the top side, the other side is flat. the green lace is vintage and the seambinding is leather tan color.

The quilted looking K & Co. printed paper is machine stitched to the graphic 45 gingham pp. the photocorners on that are from Pioneer. The base on this is sage shadow and so that puts this card at a hair under 6" square in real life.

Patchwork Balloon Bear

So, This does not have an "occasion" as of yet, and so its blank of a sentiment. colored this lili of the valley patchwork bear a few days ago with copic's :

the bear is E41,42,43,44,71 & R20

the Balloons are:
E93,R02,R00
Y000,21,23,32

YG91,93,95
B01,000

shadows are C1,C0

This one's 5" square on a scrap of bazzill base, the diamond pp is from K&Co. the dots is from Bo Bunny. used an grand circle die for the dots and an petite oval die on the bear panel. the lace is from recollections. the photocorners are chatterbox. that mulberry flower came to me as a gift, the last wild orchid flowers I bought, I ordered them direct from WOC and there was a packet of these flowers inside the box. the button is vintage and I clipped the shank off of it. This is a slightly modified version of SC392 sketch ( made it square )

The base is bazzill and this one is 6" square in real life, the lace is vintage and is machine sewn to the dot pp. ( this came off of an 8" pad but, it was filed with black papers so. no clue on the mfg.) the inside pp is from graphic 45.

Paper and Such Home Sweet Home

So, this is a different kind of a post for me. recently I was asked if I would like to be an guest designer for the Paper and Such stamps store and of course I said yes. :) This is a sneak peek at a new stamp set coming out next week called Heart Strings. This card uses the embroidery hoop/ cloth image, the stitched home and if you look closely at the sentiment the word sweet also looks like cross stitching. (any photo of this blog can be clicked on to enlarge)

When I first seen this set I instantly thought oh you could do some really fun welcome home or congratulations on your new home type cards with this. ( this set also comes with other images and sentiments that are also being peeked here and there before the release)
On this particular card, the sentiment is stamped on some Neenah classic cream and die cut with an spellbinders grommet tags die this layer is up on pop dots above the chatterbox fancy tags die. there are some creamy colored pearls on both layers.

The hoop and cloth image is stamped on some chatterbox pp that has an linen type texture print on it and the hoop was colored with an marker. the home was stitched onto this also then a second image stamped on some smooth Neenah and colored with copic's was paper pieced to the base image. Used some leather tan seambinding for the large bow and some cream hemp string for the top bow. the button is vintage, thought the tim holtz pins were kind of different and would pick up the circles from the others on this card rather then doing actual sewing pins. The bo bunny pp is machine stitched to the black with dots pp. the card base is some speckletone sand and this card is 5" square in real life.
