some of saturdays cards

made from scraps, the green baubles are an johnny Appleseed gift from Sandy (Mopar35) Thanks so much! :) the center diecut is embossed and up on pop dots. added some orange texture bazzill under it and cut it out by hand along the edges.
thought this would make a fabulous fall birthday card. its 5 X 7 in real life.
that printed paper is from a co called gcd studios and the paper line is de doo blossoms from the whoop de doo collection. (no i didn't remember i snagged the scrap with the words and brought it in the house ) ;)
When Chicks read horror books... Sentiments from Rubber Romance, the printed paper i think was a rak but i don't remember now who gave it to me anymore (sorry) the chicks are stamped on neenah solar white and colored with prisma pencils.
This one i was paying attention to the "level" meter on the camera.. My thoughts about that is i will just use my eye from now on the level thing really makes for some odd shots... the background is an rubbernecker one ( i think ) that came to me via the PIF threads from Leibetty ( Thanks LA!!) its stamped with purely pomegranate ink on pink cardstock the mat around the gals is that cs then the pink stripe pp is an old old old ctmh one. ( don't ask me its name ) vintage lace, i thought the curves went well with the circles and ovals.
told my self you need some more "simple" cards... so this was actually the first one i made, and it is fairly simple the pp is from deja views (homespun paisley) and its A6 in real life.
this pp is from bo bunny and is called unforgettable kiss, this is both of the sides of it. added some yellow stickles to the pp and the diecut.
Another bo bunny pp alissa adorable. it also has some stickles but this is the "distressed milled lavender" bought it for the color, but the distressed stickles have a larger hole on the squeeze bottle so it comes out in bloops.
also did 10 leaf cards (very simple) didnt shoot them, stuck 6 of them into a fall tin for the raffle prize drawing for the craft booth i will do next month. may have jinxed myself with that decision... found it almost impossible to think about stamping or even making cards after i plunked down the money for the table, but the who gives a carp attitude has kicked back in and i think for the most part it will be OK in the end, i wish it was over with and i probably will not renew the contract for doing it next year. I am totally dreading sitting there for 2 days. and on the other hand i am curious to see how people react to my cards in real life.

where does the time go?

had this stamp made at stampstruck/scrapbookking before it closed. ( don't remember the name of the font) its not rubber either, its some kind of clear stuff mounted to a plastic-y handle (and old fashioned skinny tall kind) but, at least it stamps :)
neat-o Nestibilities "borderabilities dies" bought the square-ish one and the long skinny set in the same pattern... cool stuff. pop dots between the layers and some stickles here and there for oomph.
20 years together, the roosters from the SU set Provencal its 6 inches square in real life. will have to check on the pp name later (something two sided and a new to me co.)
bad scans from the album, and yes that dress is very pale pink...

Mood Swings?

I thought the "barbed wire" printed till went pretty well with this High Hopes stamps... I was lucky enough to take part in an "last hurrah" group retail order from them before they went wholesale only { Thanks Tami!} and I've so far only mounted these three stamps. the red pp is the back side of an stripe my minds eye and the black dot ( I've forgotten already will look later) the cream linen is Neenah and the brown texture is Bazzill this is 5 1/2 Square in real life. funny thing i was sewing along the pp edge and listening to my ipod and while i was working on this a George Strait song came on that was "you know me better then that" part of the lyrics were "you know me better then that, how moody i can be, all my insecurities, you've seen me lose all my charm... you know i was raised on a farm oh you know me better then that" and I'm sitting here looking at the cows face expression cracking up.

Simple Birthday Cards

Something silly not sure what i would write on the inside... its 6 inches square in real life. Whippersnapper image colored with prisma pencils. the trim was a gift from Alice and the brads are "medium" sized ones the printed paper is from my minds eye.
Judi Kins image with mse sentiment. stamped on Neenah and colored with Copic Markers. was attempting an "out of the box" type diecut with this, ended up taking out a triangle of the background to the image though where i cut along the leaf to "tuck it over the die" (glued it in place with some liquid glue after)
the pink threaded ribbons from walmart and the lace under it is vintage. This one's 5X7 in real life. The green cs is from Bazzill, the burgundy and pink ( I think ) are SU.
Penny Black Tulip Crate is colored with Copic Markers. this is an Wish Rak Image that came to me from Photoholic, { Thanks Shannah!!} with an SU sentiment added. the burgundy cs is unknown the green is bazzill, the ribbons from May Arts and this ones 5X7 in real life.
the vintage looking velvets from Making Memories the floral pp is from Daisy D's. this ones 5X7 in real life. the Babs diva is either an wish rak image or an PIF image (shes one I've snagged a few times love this one) someday i may have to break down and buy her too.. Sentiments from Lockhart.
Tim's friend Tommy turned 44 Friday... (whippersnapper smilin lab and sentiment) ran a scrap of the pp through the cuttlebug branches folder and inked it with some sand memento (this is the back side of the stripe pp from my minds eye) this one is 5X7 in real life.

end of the season blooms {yesterday's}

Delphinium
Gerber daisy. {second year} Di gave this plant to me last year for my birthday and we kept it indoors all winter.. and i planted outside last spring.. so gotta get it re-potted soon... it will be interesting to see how long it will live. ( as an florist bloom not a hardy plant)
This is the rose bush i planted when J was born and Auntie Viv dug it up so i could move it to this house... (an Harry and David miniature) that gets to be about 4 foot tall and 3 feet around now a days... miniature my foot) lol its peach in real life had a little bit too much sun on it when i shot this one. ( late afternoon)
thought it was cool you could see the hair like edging along the outer layers.
Mallow {planted from seed!!!} *gasp* yes, can you see me thumping my chest in a Tarzan type way?? I don't do "seeds" ( i weed them) so it amuses me that this one lived (from a whole packet mind you) and these are hard to shoot, the flowers hide towards the inside of the plant near the stalk so and they are pretty small too although the plant is at least 3 1/2-4 foot tall ish..

Johnny Appleseed Thanks

This didn't turn out in my mind the way i thought it would when i was thinking about it... (teach me to think) most of my cards are not planned they just happen. this one i think the embossing of the leaves lost too much of the definition even with the subtle ink colordusting to help it pop the green panel is some really thin handmade type paper so it relaxed after. started this card knowing Carrie was sending me these apple images to play with and so that could be part of it too, the doing it in stages thing. there is a bit of diamond glaze over the apple.
the check pp is from basic grey, the green embossed panel is unknown, the pink base is Stampin Up. This is about 5 1/2" square in real life. and headed out to Morpar35 for my Johnny Appleseed gifts box she sent to me for the wrak exchange a couple of weeks ago. Today will be day 3 on the antibiotics... lets hope they kick in soon. :)

Windmill scene simple

Shot with an fix focal length 100 macro lens on the new pentax K-7. totally auto. PSX image stamped with Versafine on Neenah, sentiments from A Muse. this is A-6 in real life.
Switched lenses, this one was shot with an 16-50 again totally on auto. to see how it would look, the macro i was half way across my space to get the whole card into the photo, this one got to get much closer and had to zoom up on it to lose some of the background. going to take some tinkering to get this set up to do what i want to do with them... funny learning curve on the digital slr too. the white balance thing just gets me each time. so so far I'm getting better shots doing the totally auto settings. wandered around the yard and got some of the end of the season blooms going on now but will put them into their own post for all those not into flowers people can skip it...

Playing with the Camera

I picked all these peppers (and the peas before that) and thought this looked interesting...
then spied a bean picker... lol we did all the tomatoes in the dark monday night after work then did the rest of everything else we could get tuesday night after work.
So the Garden is done for this year... got lots of canning (salsa making etc) planned for the next little while. Tim's been freezing/canning all day so far today...
