More Easter

there was an random conversation recently in the PIF chat box chicks thread about embossing on velvet with an cuttlebug... and that stuck in the back of my mind as an curiosity type thing... so this is an scrap of velvet brown paper that was run through the d'vine swirls cuttlebug folder a couple of days ago. Its still holding the shape.
This is an older PSX image that came to me via the PIF threads from Laurlynn. (Thanks Laurie) the brown velvet and flannel check pp's are from my scrap bin and unknown. the cardbase and sentiment cs is Sahara sand. There is a bit of pink liquid pearls in the hearts of the main image and the sentiments from Impression Obsession. the ovals are Nestibilite die cuts. this one is 5X7 in real life.
This Penny black "peeking Bunny" is stamped with India Ink black on gp110 and colored with prisma pencils, the sentiments from the SU set Fancy Flexible Phrases. the textured cardstocks are all bazzill and this ones 4 1/2 X 6" in real life.
another PIF image this ones from Leibetty (Thanks Leigh Anne) its anElyzbell's UK sized Easter chicks colored with prisma pencils there is a bit of yellow stickles glitter glue on the wide band of the egg. the sentiments from Stampa Rosa (cut in half) the yellow texture is from Jestcharming and i suspect its unrolled (that stuff you used to use when you made bows on wreaths) however it was packaged for scrapbookers and labeled as yellow crinkle paper... (if i had an smiley rolling its eyes you'd see it about now) this ones a-2 in real life.
Another curious bunny card, this ones about 5 X 6 1/2 in real life. the stripe pp is from chatterbox. the textured yellow cs is Bazzill and the cardbase is PTI. the ribbons from Making Memories. Little bit of stickles on the scallops of the oval.

anual stamp sale loot

no these are not for sale... Alice and I went over the mountains last Saturday to the used stamp sale that happens at Stampstruck/Scrapbook king in Medford. and this is the loot i hauled home from that...
$31.00 plus change... so not as good as last year, they only had maybe 1/3 of the tables with items for sale on them... but not too shabby either. did pick up a couple more lockharts Ive been wanting that always seem to be out of stock and one of those new EK success punches. these i had been curious about since i first seen them in M's what you cant see when its still in the package is there is an slider lever on the bottom of the punch so if you slide it the punch "pops" up so that you have a lever to push to make it punch. its really a clever design. (space saving.) thought i shot a photo of it but not seeing it in the camera...

Easter so far...

not this last week because paper noises are not a good thing for me at the moment but off and on since the surgery i had assembled these cards from Easter images i had colored... (still have more to go) this particular bunny trio is from SU (the gifts of spring) and its colored with an bit of prisma pencils and the sentiments from the SU set called (fancy flexible phrases) these were die cut with nestibility dies. the cream/brown pp is from my scrap bin and the blue is paper trey ink aqua mist. this is 5X7 in real life.
this whippersnapper (curious bunny) is stamped on neenah 110# and colored with prisma pencils. funny thing about this particular cardstock is its thick enough it self-embosses as you die cut it, don't even need to run it through the tan mat with shims process. the stripe pp is an scrap of Chatterbox and the Pink and green cardstocks are from Papertrey ink.
this is the second attempt at this froggy. haha whippersnapper (Easter Ribbit) the sentiment stamps with the image which just cracked me up the very first time i seen it and i was lucky enough that Pam (my mardi gras jester sent this stamp to me) so you guys are gonna see it alot... ( have a bunch of him colored) the green, pink and blue are paper trey ink cardstocks. they just look like perfect Easter colors to me.. Labels are up on popdots, mini brads are unknown and that wide wide satin ribbon came to me in my Valentines box from newstampingaddict (Thanks Alison)
this was my first version with this stamp. used mini pinking shears (deco scissors around the edge of the green label) the pink pp is from Basic Grey. the pink and green ribbon also came in my Mardi Gras box. Thanks Pam
!!

so 2 ears are better then 1

most of the time... :) I've had this sound processor for almost an week now. and its jumped a head a few steps when it was turned on, its just barley at a sound level below the one I've had for over an year. it only has one program (pure noise) with three volume settings so, if i get it to the top level before i go back to Portland again the ears would be about level noise wise... so, i never had the not high definition sound. which is good. but, still a little un-nerving when you've finally managed to ignore some noise. (what did she really say that?) yeah, there are noises you tune out. and I have even managed to do that... heating systems inside building walls, the echo noise you first when its first turned on, wind up the micro phone noises... so those parts are starting over again. but the funny thing is they don't seem to irritate me as much as they did learning to ignore them with the first one. crumpling paper noises, my paper trimmer. all of these are not good to listen too. (haven't made a card since I've been home) :) I've decided to get an ipod. will probably have to make time to stop by radio shack and look for some kind of a y splice thing so that i can use the one ear clip cord i have and be able to plug both ears into it. and i need an adaptor of somekind for the ears cord to plug into my cell phone. got a new one last month and this one has an micro-phone jack... I know that eventually this is supposed to make things sound better. the good part is that it seems to be progressing much faster then the first one did. On the home front All the electrical and lights are now in the laundry, bath and porch celing. :) next comes the plumbing. J has spring break this week and so this was not a good week to have a brand new ear... lol this child has no concept of quiet... and his cell phone rings off the hook.

Got an Umbrella?

Crop Bling View... I'm thinking to go with her I'd like to come across an sentiment that reads "heard you've been under the weather" or maybe and i know Ive seen this somewhere there is one that reads "you need to have rain to get rainbows" (something like that) this is my very first Whiff of Joy stamp and she was an gift from Alison in my secret cupid box. It's an appropriate one for today as its been dripping rain all day here...
This is 5X7 in real life, the willow image is colored with prisma pencils and an prisma marker for the skin, the rain has some gelly roll stardust glaze pen on it. the Sentiments from SU but don't ask me which set (the rubber is purple though) the ribbon ( i don't remember who makes it thinking its one i bought at big lots years ago but, not certain) the blue textured cardstock is bazzill, the white is Neenah solar white 110# the other is SU Purely Pomegranate. The blue mini brads are unknown.

this last week

well it seems like there is just not enough time to update the blog... things are progressing. Grace is home again and doing well. ( took her to the vets last saturday on J's birthday and ended up leaving her there and so she was on IV's all weekend and got to come home again monday afternoon) she's "Grace" again now. when i think about it i am utterly amazed that i am now the mom of a teenager. other day took said child to the grocery store and got carded for wine... lol makes you wonder if someone has increased the speed somewhere because most days are just flying by now. (not for J he's still in the days drag on forever stage) :) I'm getting excited about going back up there in a few days. I have piles of happy mail to shoot and upload. (still don't really want to clean off that desk so that is the hang up, gotta have a big enough space to shoot things) :) Linda, I did get 3 cards from you and the stamp set, but i don't own any clear blocks anymore so I haven't actually touched these stamps in case that third envelope says something like this is an traveling stamp set.. not sure if i will take it in my suitcase or not, wont be home on the 17 so may be a few days after that before i open it. so that's about it for now, the remodeling continues (went to home depot only twice yesterday) have the bath door ordered. today we get to go to Grovers and pick up light fixtures and plug in's and such... (well in a couple of hours after they open) :) at some point I'm sure i will start posting cards again, but truthfully i haven't even been coloring lately. not that that would stop me from creating cards as i probably have an hundred images already colored but, right now I'm still thinking of an idea for an baby shower for an lady having twin boys and i need a thank-you card for my Mardi Gras Jester and things like that... well gotta write more later have to go point at walls and say switch here switch here... :)

A very Long Busy week

Here is an little advice... if you ever have to have an surgery, do not leave your stampy space looking like this, its utterly deafeating to view when your not standing up for long periods of time yet... ;) So, not sure where i left off last but, Friday a week ago i felt really good, i expected to go to to work, do the payroll taxes and such so while i waited i did three loads of laundry and pretty much stayed up all day. so Saturday i crashed and started over again, Sunday was better, then Monday i was thinking human thoughts again and ended up taking Grace to the vet diagnosis was an infection and an fever of 105 + and dehydration... was told if she wasn't drinking on her own by the next day on these pills bring her back, but she started drinking again and seemed to be getting better. so Tuesday went to work. didn't stay more then a few hours, wed same thing, Thursday i stayed home tackled that table and put together the card below that i had started before we left for Portland... then Friday was another short day at work, but by Friday night Grace seemed to be backsliding so i took her back to the vet this morning and she agreed with me that those pills should have killed the fever by now (this am her temp was 103 +) (normal for an lab is supposed to be 100-101 ish... anyways so Grace is at the vets they were going to run an new blood test keep her quiet and start new pills and work on figuring out what else is wrong besides the infection... (no word yet supposed to get an update tomorrow) which brings me to these cards (did them thursday, finally made it back up the stairs today to photo them...)
This is for Pam, I really don't think she reads my blog so its fairly safe to post. this is an PIF Elzybells UK sized image colored with prisma pencils. the circles are nestibilities dies and the pink shimmer shape is an SU top note die cut and the printed paper is from Basic Grey and the sentiments from Hero Arts. the cardbase is that newest su pink (this years in color cant spell it and am not going to go hunt up my book) the ribbons from May Arts and the glitter is Stickles... this is 5 1/2" square in real life. which brings me to the reason i went upstairs... today i am official the mom of a teenager.. (insert an smiley face with its eyes bugging out here)
This one is also an PIF image from Leibetty, (Thanks Leigh Anne!!) the whippersnapper Andre is colored with prisma pencils and the yellow mat was cut with an Martha Stewart "flourish" border punch. the mini brads are from doodlebug. the pp under that is Basic Grey (one of the very first lines they ever made) and the cardbase is bazzill. this ones 5X7 in real life.
So I guess i made such a cute card because it could be the last time i get away with it... its hard to make cards for teen boys. ( just ask me i will tell you) I guess what makes it hard for mine is he's still in the asking for toys mind set but, wants to be respected and talked to like he is more grown up then he is.
SO, everyone i see keeps asking me how is my hearing and what's new... well the thing is i still have the same programs in the original sound processor from December... so, most things sound the same thanks! I get the new sound processor on the 17th of March, so until that time no I'm not sticking my "ear" that has an years worth of learned sounds onto my stitches to test it... the surgeon already tested it while i was under so yes it works, and i have the patience to wait. funny thing i don't think of patience as one of my own virtues so it amuses me that i am willing to wait for this.
