Ribbons Ribbons and more Ribbons...

I don't think I have mentioned how much i LOVE ribbons or even gulp... (how much i have collected of it) Its something i have bought all of my adult life.... so i have it in all shapes and sizes, most colors and textures. I keep meaning to make time to hit the old thrift type stores to look for vintage laces and such, but never actually do it. Our walmart has been re-vamping their crafts section all the way through. On a recent trip these are some of the new ribbons i found the plainer ones have 4 yds on a card and the fancier ones such as the velvets have 3 yard on a card and they are all the same price, under 1.50... A while back i had made these ribbon garlands with the thing holding the photo to the garland is a drapery rod hook... so, i have some Christmas ribbons cuts to do this again to have one to hang the photos that come inside the Christmas cards in. another look at the garlands in my space... they are pinks, greens and creams... I'm not sure if the ribbon addict blinkie will blink on here, its not blinking as i type this but, its one i use as part of my siggy in a few scrap sites... If the shoe fits ehh?

In an Altered state of mind...

These are wooden letters from Wal-Mart. I have a box in my closet that is "things to be altered" (the lid does not close anymore)Sooo... decided it was time to actually DO something with some of it... I'm Keeping the S ;) The A I have already given to Alice... it was part of her box of goodies for her 40th Birthday. I'll talk more about that later I'm working on some flirty purse albums from the photos from that... This is a close-up of an altered Pineapple Chunks can, it has matte modgepodge as the top layer (including on the prima flower) Its holding some of my ink stipple brushes.

This is a view of all the food cans i altered in the first batch, the largest tall can is baked beans the skinny shortest tall can is Campbell's soup, the small round short can is a tuna tin. {you can get 9 color duster brushes in one tuna tinny by the way} This is a frontal look at my corner of our joint hobby room the top of the door to the walk in closet is right at 5 1/2 feet? and the ceiling continues to slant as you walk into it so its more like a walk in and huddle/stoop or on your knees... (yep, I've walked into the top of the door jamb more than once) And this is what it looks like from the side... I need to get a second tri-pod so that i can put the light bar on one and the camera on the other. It has wiggle issues to use them both on one, something inside the light bar is whats doing it but my close up shots of various storage pieces or what not all did not turn out right... Think i finally figured out which blue filter to use indoors to cut the yellow too. So that is like a huge Ah-HA! thing for me... {now lets hope i remember}

Not much going on otherwise here the weather has been gorgeous, we will unload the second truck load of compost manure into Tim's veggie garden area tonight when he gets home with it, making the grand total of 3 truck loads in it... (this truck is comparable to two truck loads like i was doing last year.)

I've got blooms everywhere... cool beans! gotta get more of the photos scanned maybe later tonight (maybe not they hopefully are playing a new one for L O S T )

potential submissions cards...

This stamp is just HUGE in real life... The happy birthday is up on a pop-dot. both of these cards are 5X7's. (there is no black on them but i keep a black Cardstock on my scanner so it blocks out the lid...)

This image just totally cracked me up the first time i seen it... I ended up getting it unmounted from the manufacture (which saved big bucks and allowed me to buy some of their hysterical sentiments at the same time...)

should have time to play some more tomorrow as Tim is going scouting for Turkeys...(you know the birds that hide? and occasionally run across the road when your on your way home after trekking around the mountain all day?)

One of the things i have been thinking about is submitting some cards... and so these are a couple i came up with today that i may mail in... Just gotta make time to figure out the charts for the backs of them... If they are picked up by the mag that i am thinking to send them to, the what you get is a copy of the mag they publish them into... so not a huge money making deal but may be something fun to see them in print...(not sure why)

I actually think most the cards i receive in the mail look better than some of the things Printed but, that could be due to a lack of submissions too though...???

call me as soon as you get this... ha ha ha

so, yesterday i get this really cute card and envelope totally covered with FROGS from my sister in the mail... first line reads... Call me as soon as you get this... OK so which ever one of you reads this first feel free to explain the facts of life to LJLimaBean... no 1. if i pick up the handset on the phone, i will not know if i have a dial tone or a busy signal no.2 I will not hear it ring no. 3 I will not hear her voice or machine pick up. gee do you really think i should make my phone girl at the office call her or what? Next on the list of demands is the date we will take a vacation so that her husband can ask for time off and coordinate our joint vacations.. fact of life no (4oo98) we will not be taking any vacations until we have completely bought out Tims parents from the shop... for the half of a day we took off to travel to Portland for the ckc last month the threat (from the inlaws) was if we take any time off they are gonna flat out shut the shop down the entire time we are gone, they do not trust the workers to show up and work so, if we take time off our entire employees will also get the same time off work... OK so this is not good business and our workers never take vacations they take their vacation money and bank it and come to work. they cannot afford to take the paid time off so its not very fair to force them into unpaid time off... oh so plan for a vacation where we leave here in about 10 or 11 years OK? of course you are all welcome to bring your selves here... which is just totally we are not going to discuss this anymore... i did consider handing the phone to mil so that she could call all over the country and explain her self and her husbands paranoia but she is sick and retired so no telling when she may be dropping by the office again... and shes also probably right... (about everyone not working if Tim is not there to make them do it) oh and excuse the sarcasm, we also had a death in my mothers family (of which no one in my mothers family has bothered to write and tell me anything yet...) I'm totally positive that all the hearing people in the family have received phone calls and what not. (of course my husband got a call) oh and good news he actually remembered to tell me he got a call... (99% of the time he cant be bothered) so. whatcha think? who should i call first hmmm? hahahaha

Just some cards...

I'm sitting here laughing at my self... because i thought why don't you put in some of the cards you like best from the last month... (and they are all GREEN) hee hee Its raining! its pouring! and i have a fresh brewed pot of Coffee just done. and even better, I am gonna make taco's for dinner because there was no one with me at the grocery on the way home to go "oh no! not tacos..." :) love this little frog making a snow angel... Thinking this stamp maybe come my next years X-mas cards... (well some of them anyways) Doesn't this ribbon say 1970 ish to you?? it surely does to me but i just bought this like 3 weekends ago... but, I'm fairly certain i wore some just like it in my hair once upon a time... This was something new for me, the sunflower was done with a clear (dreamweavers) embossing paste. so the color is dabbed on through the stencil first, then (clean ink off the stencil) and fill it with the paste then after you lift the stencil off you shake some fine clear glitter on it... dries really 3-d and sparkley...
