WOYWW #360 {coloring}

Happy Wednesday Ladies, If you'd like to play along with us shoot a shot of what you are doing and link it up here at our hostess Julia's blog

So, this is the sofa table that has become a sit down coloring station in a spare room downstairs in the house. ( my big plastic table you see most of the time is in a finished room over the garage that hubs and I share the space as a hobby room. ) Some of these things have been being colored for weeks now. ( not continuously) The lilac's surrounding our house are blooming right now and excuse me Aaaachoooo. I am not getting as much done as I would like to. so, I have been reading more than creating. and creating in binges here and there. That thing that looks like a big pill box was found at Joann's fabrics a while back and is what I have started using for water to watercolor because, then I can have a red well and a green well etc etc. ( its easier to carry it to a sink then multiple pots too) I did "test" the Daniel smith watercolors samples that came with that hero arts kit a few weeks ago but, not colored anything with them as of yet. ( I was just eyeballing the colors to see if they were anything radically different than what I already have because, more color is always my thing but, to my eye they do not look much different, so I guess what I have for what I like to color is still working OK in that dept.) I also tried doing some thing with those glitter pastes and a stencil last weekend but, it has no dimension to it, it dries flat so, the look I wanted to find with a stencil did not work for me, I am going to have to use something under the glitter paste for dimension ( like paste of some kind with some body to it) and then do the glitter over the top I think. So, there are not any photos of that yet.

So... It's still wed at my house, this was shot wet but, I was using a small paint brush ( the same one I use for all the liquid glues) to daub on some of the clear glitter paste. I did do the second wreath after this was shot. but, hopefully it gives you the idea. its kind of gloopy but dries flat.

You really are busy trying out all sorts of new ideas, Stacy. Hope you find the solutions.
Take care. God bless.

Wow, Stacy, you are really working through all the color options. I admire that. What is that large white piece you have just below the Daniel Smith watercolor sheet? It's amazing with all of the "wells" to mix colors in. I love it and wonder where you got it? Thanks for sharing all the many projects you are working on. Glad I'm not the only one with UFO's (unfinished objects). Hugs!

You are always trying this and that and that is so cool. Good luck with the watercoloring. I totally coveted that Hero Arts kit when it came out and I wanted to try those water colors. Well, not until I lessen the load of kits I already have in my house! PJ & Dio #57

I have been reading more, lately, too. We just can't do everything, can we. I find when I do more walking, that I get less crafting done. So what to do? Exercise? read? craft? :)
It is fun to experiment with new techniques though. Oh, and what a good idea with the plastic box! Hugs! #61

What a good idea to have mote than one well for your brushes. I must remember that. They sell them here at the Chinese bazaar (as pill boxes, one for each day).
Thanks for visiting,
Happy WOYWW,
Have a good week too,

I hope you get over the sneezes soon - though the blossoms must look really pretty. I find myself going to cycles - craft, read and be outside in the nice weather. Sometimes when I pick up a book I find that I just can't put it down. I'm pretty sure hubby knows that I'm not ignoring him on purpose.

Happy WOYWW

love your color pallet you have. I'm fighting my allergies too - it's hard to feel like doing anything!
Have a great day.

Good idea with the water pot. I use those small jam jars that they issue in hotels in the UK/Europe/not sure about elsewhere.
Love your experiments.
Hugs & Thanks for the visit to my blog- Neet 3 xx

Hi Stacy! I couldn't figure out how to do a reply on your message. Sometimes I can, and sometimes I can't. :)
Anyway- those little bits on my table - they are stamped & colored pill bottles, then 3D Lacquer, and cut out. They are decoration for my get well card. You can see it closer here:

Thanks again for stopping by.
Hugs!

Great that you're testing new things. Finding what isn't working is as important as what is. I love lilacs. Sorry they make you sneeze. Pollen seems to be worse this year than normal. Hoping the rains take the pollen count down a notch or two. Creative Blessings! Kelly #52
