Happy desk peeking day, if you'd like to see more spaces or play along

 Saturday brought an Black Friday order from Impression Obsession.
(in the back are some Christmas tags which can be seen here, and I had one extra wreath when I was done with those so, I turned it into the card seen below)
 like so, the falala and stamped sentiment are from Simon Says Stamp. this one is A7 in real life.

 and also on late Saturday night the featured stamper is revealed and I picked this neat card in  Jessica's gallery seen here and changed mine to Christmas and an modified upright design. those skinny birch trees are actually scraps of some pier 1 imports Christmas wrapping paper from last year. ( I do not know if they have it again this year or not I bought several rolls last year) That sentiment is from the Club Scrap holiday mail set.

 Monday brought some happy Black friday mail from Purple Onion Designs from the Stacy Yacula line. these are all so darling. and guess what I found out doing the index's for these... I stuck the stamps to the glass mat and placed the ink on them that way and then layed the cardstock on top of that instead of looking for a big enough block or getting out the Misti to ink those big stamps.
cool eh?

 Tuesday after work. I still have something like 4 more sheets of this cling foam in the closet, and so, after this was shot another 4 more sheets were filled with previously wood mounted sentiments and are awaiting cutting and sorting. I have a blister on my right index finger. so, it has slowed down that way. but, there is a plastic bin on the floor filled with wood blocks that have their stickers on them waiting for me to double check that stamp is in the evernote file already.

 Wednesday AM. I have a hole again on the desk so, I need to steal some time for the IC sample and then it will be back to cutting out stamps again. I have decided I am going to get these sentiments done. I don't know if I will get them all done before the end of the year but, that is the goal.
It is so much fun when you have a stack of the laminated cards all sorted and ready to go into the containers with the others. and yes, although I have a pretty good idea of what stamps I own doing this has really been an eye opener as far as how many stamps I really own lol.
I am ready to have them be dust free among other things too. All my bins of unmounted stamps have hand towels tossed over the tops of them. these sentiment have been coming off a bakers rack ( open) with upside down clear acrylic box frames on them like trays. ( which is a pain to clean )

A Cup or Three of Cheer

By Now you've probably seen there is a Coffee Lovers Fall/Winter blog hop going on now. :)

 So, a very long time ago I came across this Catherine Scanlon Stacked cups from Art gone wild and the sizes of things on line I tend to ignore so, I was pretty excited to see how large these are in real life when it arrived in the mail. but, I have never used it because, I kept thinking it does not really fit the seasonal themes. and the more I looked at it the more I thought it would work for an invitation because, when you are with good friends at home the cups that come out of the cupboards tend to be the "favorite" ones not the matched holiday painted ones you know what I mean right. the ones the family uses every day. I stamped that on some Neenah solar white and colored it with prisma & polychromos pencils. I  cut the cups out with scissors and the tiny tea bag tag hanging off the top cup was a victim to that. It's ok, anyone I send this card to is a coffee drinker :)  The tag with the sending a cup of cheer is from the Hero Arts coffee cup tags set I did poke a hole through the handle of the cup to tie it on and it is dangling and the let's get together is from the lil' inker designs Coffee cozy set. The Christmas text print paper is from a My Minds Eye sugar plum pad and the woodgrain is from hobby lobby.

December Dirty Dozen Christmas Tags

 Can you believe it is already December? I have no clue where the time goes anymore but, such is life. Today there is a Craft Fair hosted by the Local Ladies Quota Club at the fairgrounds here and Knowing that I have a neekid porch that could use some Holiday decorations... I dragged hubs down there this morning. In my head I wanted to find something like this. the word Joy ( or Noel) painted on say old distressed barn wood ( big enough to be a display piece on the porch)
The closest thing I seen was ( too small) and the neat thing about it was the O was a ring of red Jingle Bells. (the part that kept me from opening my wallet besides the size was the wood it was on was too perfect like smooth laminated press board perfect)
Since old and slightly distressed things appeal to me it was too "clean" for my porch... at any rate I kept thinking about it and then when I seen the December prompt for the Dirty Dozen Christmas challenge I knew instantly what I would do.

 I think if i were to do this again I would choose to cut the woodgrain paper the same size as the tag and then just trim it down. for these I used a Spellbinders Love stamp & die bible journaling tag set for the tag and then one of the "small" long rectangle dies (also from SB) for the wood print. The J Y & Wreath are from the Concord & 9th Joyful Noel set. the wreath was cut from some textured bazzill minty green color and then inked over with some bundled sage & tumbled glass distress Oxide inks. the red berries were done with a Nuvo drops.

 The center sentiment ( also from the same Concord & 9th set) was stamped with some Versafine Claire warm breeze blue, then cut with a Spellbinders labels 14 die.

All in all there are 8 of these done. 4 are on smooth SU soft sky cardstock and 4 are on some textured Bazzill scrap. If you'd like to play along with us this challenge can be found here at SCS. Inside the special forum for fan club members. Thanks for stopping by.

More than Grilled Cheese

Which is a lot right? That sentiment just makes me smile. I had seen yesterday that the latest coffee lovers blog hop had started for the fall/winter season when I was at work. and when I came home I had these Sizzix Snowman & Hat parts already cut on the table along with this Joy Clair Christmas Coffee stamp set that I had picked up last year. and I happened to see the things near each other  after work and thought why not... size matters in coffee cups haha ;)

 The body was cut from some Diecuts with a view Woven paper the other pieces were scraps. the Mug was stamped with Versafine claire warm breeze ink when this was dry I did cut it with scissors and added some crystal stickles to the centers in the pattern. There is also some on the eyeballs.  The coffee beans were stamped with Distress Oxide ground espresso on some smooth Neenah and covered with diamond glaze. The hat has some skinny silk embroidery ribbon and a blue gem brad on it. That sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! set called Words of Truth. ( I think this may be retired their online site does not find the set sorry) I love the photo that was used for this round of hopping seen below. We woke up to our first round of snow this year this morning so, it was especially true here. This card finished out at A6 in real life.

Inspired by {Joss & Main}

This week Julie has shown us the Joss & Main store where I seen so many things I thought maybe maybe and then I found this button snowflake pillow and said YES :)

 I picked a small Simon Says Stamp Rina snowflake die as my base and only added a few tiny Dress it up buttons to it with glue dots. The background is an old Stampin' Up! Canvas background and was done with some Avery Elle Linen pigment & distress oxide tea dye inks. The sentiment is from the Mama Elephant peaceful wishes set. that frame is a Memory Box die called double stitched rect frame. ( it was cut and stacked 3 times for the framing to give it some depth.) the cardbase is a premade one from Paper Accents that has a linen finish to it.
I just love how simple this is and the contrast in textures too. I have been collecting some toss pillows since we finished the living room & library remodels last year and that seems to be one of the first things I poke around when shopping. Just this last week the Christmas ones from previous years have made an appearance out of the cedar chest and when I see cute pillows out and about I think ooh there is always room for one more. ( if its soft enough to nap on haha) Thanks for stopping by, you can find this challenge here to play along with us.

WOYWW # 495 {Re-Organizing}

Happy desk peeking day, if you'd like to see more spaces or play along

 So, we had a 4 day weekend last weekend. and instead of doing the regular scheduled program in my space. Like making things... I happened to spy this box of not totally filled stamped sheets of cardstock in plastic pockets of stamps waiting to be filled so the cardstock could be laminated and these pockets could be put away... over the course of those 4 days I did over 30+ sheets of them.
the cardstock is cut to 5" x 7 1/2"
Yeah, I am not done. not even close.

It's just one of those funny true stories, I get the idea to get some done do it for a while then hit a deadline pick up the mess and the what is not done sits. for months on end.
so, these are tuesday night shots. and yes, I am still doing this. but, tomorrow I need to make a hole to do my sample for this coming weekends IC challenge. ( at least I know what I want to do)
which is the biggest challenge. Someday's I think I will never get these stamps sorted and other days I am just happy with the ones that are done. and it really is helpful to be able to flip through the pockets rather than lifting up the dvd cases and trying to decided if the one you want is in it or not. and it seems to me the one I want is sometimes in the 10th box I look in haha.
I ended up driving all day for work today so, will start poking around tomorrow. Happy Wednesday and thanks for stopping by.
