WOYWW #354 {altered giftbags}

This is going to be heavy on the photos... If you'd like to play along with us shoot a shot of what you are pushing around in your space and link it up here on our hostess Julia's Blog

Miss Gracie Lou Who... who looked a little impatient and actually held still for this.. She's 8 now and counting so maybe the patience years have arrived. (and Yes, tripping over Grace happens on a regular basis){she is on paper a full blooded papered "yellow" English lab} in reality she is a "fox red" not an AKC official color with an overbite that gives her a from some angles a hound dog look...

This is what the desk looked like when I walked up the stairs after work on Tuesday... so, on Monday I had the bright idea to alter one of these gift sacks I had on hand for the upcoming Spring coffee lovers blog hop on friday... and I loved how it turned out. and I thought well, lets make some more... so, this is bits and pieces of mostly previously stamped and diecut sentiments that were in the pockets of that wooden tray on the table with some seam binding and what ever else was in reach.

Off to the right you see the three that were finished on Monday... along with scrap piles ( that really have gone down) and I can close the lid on the box that is holding stamped sentiments on scraps waiting to be diecut into tags...

now last week Judy noticed that I had cleaned up all the stamps... lol... not totally I ran out of the dvd boxes I store clear rubber cling stamps in so, they got moved out of the way to the end of the paper rack that holds my big shot... I have more boxes on order. ;) (that project is going to take a while)

After I had shot the above photos I pulled these to the center of the table so you could see how they turned out... These are all some Paper Accents bags that measure 3 1/2" by 5 inches in real life. I used a (memory of seeing this tutorial Bev did a while back for SplitcoastStampers and so, I did not really follow the directions because, I had these bags on hand and just used them. so, if you have these bags I placed the fold at about 2 1/8" - 2 1/4" up from the bottom, and then I used 1/8" red liner tape on the sides as far to that edge as I could get it to be able to slip a gift card into that front pocket the fold makes.
So, the front panel printed papers were cut at about 2 1/8" x 3 1/2" wide, and just in case that tiny bit of tape does not hold they all have a ribbon wrapped around the fold to keep it up too.

I did shoot a couple of shots on Monday of the ones I finished

The laptop is from Gina K and the bunny is from Avery Elle.

Now this, as soon as I thought about it some more I decided this is nearly a total CASE of the one Dina made as a sample for the tutorial and I had to laugh about it later after I remembered that. So, no I will not be linking it up to the hop and the colors are not really "Spring" in my mind but, gift cards to a coffee shop is something I like to do so, this will be used first most likely. for the pull out piece I used the two largest square stitched dies from My Favorite things. ( this slips into the top pocket perfectly)

The insides of the handles of the cups were cut out with an gyro tool and the straws have some silver gel pen on them.
A closer look at the cups they are from the you warm my heart set and the sentiment is from the life is better in flip flops set. tied off with some Martha Stewart ribbon. So the front pocket is just big enough to tuck a plastic gift card into and the part that pulls out is blank to write a personal note on.

What it looks like finished. and if you have never played a long with the coffee lovers blog hop, I do believe they are giving away gifts if you do play along because, Two Paper diva's are one of the sponsors of the hop.

Wow, Stacy, you are one busy gal, and I love your little Miss Gracie Lou Who - darling! And what great gift bags. Yes, I've had some problems getting on SCS today too, but I think I'm finally good to go. Fun to see your workplace. I am still in the process of reworking my area, but I have a lot else going on too. Hugs, sweet friend, and thanks for sharing your photos!

I love the little bags. They look great. The dog isn't bad either lol. She looks like a lab and they never seem to settle down. Our Ben was a black lab and he was still lively once in a while up until the day we had to put him down. He'd sometimes forget he was old and try to bounce up until his hips reminded him he was too old! Sort of sounds like me once in a while lol.

Happy WOYWW

Oh those gift bags have turned out really well! Stunning! What´s the idea of a gift bag? Do you put a gift in it or is the creation a gift in itself with some good wishes inside. Or do you put money in it? I´m sure the recipients will be well pleased with such a lovely gift.
You are right, Spanish is not my first language. In fact it might be my fourth in order of ability. Like a good Dutch woman, I am fluent in several languages and I can get by in a few more. My British husband finds it 'disgusting' the way Dutch people manage language! Most commands on Photoshop are gobbledegook to me but I´m writing them down as I find out what they do. It means that the process is much longer, but because each step takes so long to grasp, it sticks in my brain easier. (well, that´s the theory anyway).
Thanks for your visit yesterday and sorry for the late reply,
Belated happy WOYWW,
Lisca
