Happy Sunday Afternoon!

I have to remember to order an ink jet printer tomorrow.. but, this is going to say on the inside "just like that little black dress at Macy's!" the couple image is from Stampington & Co. and the sentiment is from River City Rubber works. the Lace is from Embellishment Studio... ( I joined if for 3 months and then ordered the vintage July kit) this is my first time i have ever joined one of those kits in the mail things, so far so good I like the assortment pack. {I did the smallest kit that is mostly ribbons and trims I think no papers.}
This is a Tag, its tied to a basket i have that is made of chicken wire in the shape of a bird ( I am a Basket collector)... its an on-going joke that people are going to gift me with "chickens" for our kitchen ( because we have 11 hens) But, I am NOT into chickens that way and i don't want them I'm just mentioning this because its kinda an "in-joke". I Do like Birds, have lots of bird feeders In the YARD and lots of realistic looking bird stamps though...
This chicken wire background Stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms, the Chicken is from PSX, the Tag Alphabet is from SU. tfl.

Todays Cards

just when you think your day is not going to get any better, you find you only have HAPPY MAIL in your mail box (which is a very cool thing the day after pay day) :) these images came to me from Flexie, in the neatest card (which i have not photo-ed yet, had to play with these when i found them inside it) There is clear stickles glitter glue where the bubbles are...
I don't know who makes them but they surely are cute! the ribbons May Arts or Offray (hard to say) the pp is from Holly Pond Hill ( it looks like old fashioned wall paper to me) the colors are off a bit in this photo above. that card is 5 X7 in real life.
This one was done for a sketch challenge, the packages were colored with Prisma Pencils, the sentiment ( Rubber soul) is on an Martha Stewart Punchie, the Hero arts stitched rectangle and the SU fine lace and all of it really are all stamped in (what else?) versafine Vintage Sepia ( I'm gonna cry when this pad dries out i use it almost daily)
This one was done for a use many brads challenge, Its also colored with Prisma Pencils and the the skin tones are markers. that is a Yellow sized scalloped oval cut in half length wise on the edges.

Yard sale loot!

so 3 hours and 17.00 later this is my haul... the ribbons and lace and trims came from several stops. there is also a wood flower press (1.00) not in the photos...
the two stamps on the left are PSX!!! (My FAV!) have you see what people are asking for these on eBay lately? ( some are more than i will pay) i paid 3.00 for each stamp, also picked up an angel stamp for a gift and a bag of yarn (that had other stuff in it for another gift)
those scissors are like sewing dept. quality. (very very heavy and old) they were in the bottom of the bag of yarn. :)) also not shown, is an tea pot with the lid in the corning wear cornflower pattern that i got for 1.00 also. (we inherited one from DH grandmother years and years ago and maybe last year it split in half?) which shocked us to peices as we used that pot every day! so finding one with a lid in nearly perfect condition is like whoo! score!
Tim found some decoys and an old metal tackle box with a key that locks and some other odds and ends, James picked up a couple of toys too...
fun stuff eh?
oh yeah, I have now received the Rocking Girl Blogger 3 times so by my count that means i get to nominate 15 people yes??
:)

7.27.2007

you know you've spent too much time on challenges when...

the big blossom was an SU free gift stamp last January, the background stamp (dots and Daisy's) was in one of those limited time catalogs, they are inked with Tim holtz worn lipstick distress ink (as are the prima flowers on the top of them) i curled the petals under with my fingers, the ribbon is a take off of an tutorial link at Caardvarks, the ribbon is May Arts and Offray and generic pink organdy from Joann's. this card is 5X7 in real life, the photo corners are not Heidi swapp but the same size as her large ones. the Button was found in the fabric dept. at Walmart a few months ago. tfl.
you end up with a card like this... the other day there was a post at cardvaarks where there was a link to a flower/ribbon tutorial then today there was a post at splitcoast for a challenge to use PINK... and when your Brain is fried this is what you get, a mess of product... lol
this is when you know its time to not read the challenge boards for a while...
:)

Some New cards

I just love this... Love PSX stamps and am so sad they closed their doors... Your viewing a crop view of an Magnolia Botanical Bloom that was stamped with Versafine Vintage sepia then sprayed with an Butterscotch Alcohol Ink (ranger), and Super Bronze Pearl-ex mist. ( the A.I. seals the pearl ex so it does not rub off) *bling *bling* *bling* *bling* ~ gotta do what makes ya happy right?
Flower was stamped 3 times on cream card stock then bits and pieces were cut out and layered with pop dots. ( slim ones)
The sentiments from A Muse art stamps, its on an Word window punch (SU) done in same inks as the flower. This card is 6X6 in real life, gonna link it to a challenge i think.
This is one of yesterdays cards ( there is another that i like even better but, its being mailed to someone who peeks at this blog so... maybe next week i will post it) this one has Flair designs pp. and some SU, Hero Arts and Stampendous stamps on it. the hemp cord's from Walmart.
tfl.

Yesterdays cards

There is a whole pile of sketches to play with in the splitcoastStampers site: this is my take on last weeks sketch which can be found here. The new one goes in today. (on Wednesday's) Today is the day the Design Teams challenges start there for Members of the Fan Club...
This card has the tags are from the Punch Box set (with the large su tag punch) they are stamped on cream cardstock from staples with Nick Bantock Damsom Plum Ink. the printed paper scraps are from Anna Griffin and the flower ribbon is from May Arts. (I have purchased this by the roll of several different kinds from Impress
That Cardstock color is Perfect Plum.
This one came about as i spent the morning yesterday transplanting most of my pansies (with crinkly edged petals) to my shade bed and out of the clay pots. I'm hoping they will re-seed. anyways most of whats in the shade bed is Ferns... the Background stamp is from Peddlers Pack and is stamped with Versafine Olympian Green on Mellow Moss card stock then the Fern collage stamp is from Just for Fun and its on River Rock card stock and the Hugs is from Stampendous.
I used that spiral punch across the top of the mellow moss piece. ( I'm wondering if i use that one too much, but I just really love the way it looks) the dark green is Handsome Hunter and this card is A-2 in size. The hemp cord can be found in the bead isle at wal-mart. TFL & have a good day!

{Hand Held Punchie Flip Book}

The covers are chipboard from the backs of paper packs covered with 6X6 Basic Grey printed paper. the pages are cream card stock (staples) cut to 4 1/2" x 6". I used the Stampin'Up round tab punch for the category tabs, the Cropidile (large hole punch) for the holes and a book ring from Staples to hold it together. the idea behind this is to be able to hold up the negative image over an stamped image to see how an stamped image would look on a particular shape or if a sentiment will "fit" that square, circle or oval... then I added some of the "other" kinds of shapes that it could be possible to stamp on besides the every popular Scallops and plain shapes, i also have tags, postage edged squares, solid flowers, hearts, tabs things like that. each page shows an negative and the punchie shape with the MFG info i have for it under it. just wrote it all by hand.
A look inside. I'm thinking I may make one of these for my dies. Like esp the frames and shapes that are similar to what i have in hand held punchies. Not sure yet if i will combine it all into one flip book or not yet, depends on how many pages it ends up being i guess. Seen something like this (much smaller) at one of the stamp club parties i went to last winter, and then Jan showed it to Alice recently so, this is what we did Sunday after noon when she came over to play. (no stamping) just gossip and punching. :)

Catching up with some Happy Mail!

Today's mail i found this fun card with the Roosters from my friend Flexie, ( we've actually met in person several times over the years) and anyways it made me remember I have been making a pile of the cards that have come in the mail recently. (first it was too gloomy for photos then i had more excuses ~ such as i was stamping like a mad woman the week i painted James room and did the cardvaarks every day) Love the little clippies too! This has reminded me, I have some Chicken stamps, I will send ya a few images to play with when i remember again.
This one arrived totally out of the blue from Jessica, its so nice, and it was just like Wow! how cool that she thought of me, Thanks Jessica! I love how she added the flowers to the puddle jumpers! The colors are just so cheerful! :) This was a total surprise to find too, Louise told me she wanted to send me an extra issue she didn't need and i found this card with its matching envelope tucked inside,(with two mags!) Even the inside of the card is stamps along with the matching envelope. I have to tell you I have never seen something like this in person before and it impresses the heck out of me, esp. that she mailed it to me... :)
This last card came to me from Christie and it's just like how did she know? we have been getting greedy with eating cherries (from the store this year, the frost killed all the blooms on the fruit trees we have here ) and so it made me smile. I LOVE Bing cherries! what a fun card for summer ehh? I am having fun with the images that were inside too! ( scroll down to yesterdays butterfly card)
So anyways, Thanks ladies!

This Morning's Cards

yep, I know the colors are off... this one the colors are Perfect Plum and Pale plum (among other)This butterfly image came to me in a RAK from Christie recently and this is the first time i have had a chance to play with it. I am linking this card to the Ribbon challenge at Caardvarks. the two ribbons are both from May Arts. this ones, an A-2 sized card in real life, there is some stickles on the glower petal parts of the wings, and the body of the butterfly, the sentiment is stamped on an SU round Punch Tab. the mini brads are unknown.
Now, this one is because i seen the split coast sketch go through the gallery a lot on Thursday and I am not submitting it there because i think i tweaked it a bit too much to look like what i remember the sketch looking like. (mainly the ribbon and the heart are wrong for the sketch) the So very and wanted are stamped with Timber Brown Stazyon on faux linen card stock i made last year with Tim holtz distress inks on Kodak photo paper. ( it does not accept ink well) the With all my Heart is stamped on River Rock card stock with Chocolate Chip ink. the Love same thing. the edges of the heart are color dusted with Van Dyke Brown. this card is 5X7 in real life..
So, did you finish reading your copy of Harry Yet? ( I did ) :)

Christmas Tag idea

this is just a little something that occurred to me as i was looking at the link for the SU Holiday Mini... (its online now for demo's) nope, I'm not one, but there was someone who knew someone who was and she posted it on the message board the other day...
anyways one of the sets that really interests me is the one for making the gift tags, and my fav stamp in the set is the one with the leaf pod branch across the top corner... So... (since i have spent quite a bit of time organizing my stamps images reminder book and putting together a small binder of the su sets by alphabetical stamp name together this last week) I decided that A) although i don't have "too many" stamps, I do have a lot, and not all of them have ever been used, its probably closer to less then half of them have been used... so.. this is an attempt to create something from what i have on hand.
the Frame stamp (Fred mullet) is stamped in satin red versafine on mellow moss cardstock then punched with the (lavendar size) Marvy sq. the berry pod is same color ink and the green branch is stamped with Olympian Green Versafine. (both of these stamps are in the Peaceful Wishes set) the To:From: is from an older set and I will check the binder later to look up the set name. Its layered to a piece of River Rock cardstock, the Vintage trim is an estate sale find from last summer. and the folded Cranberry Crisp cs measures 3X3 when folded. tfl.

the latest Caardvarks is UP!

check this out... if you love ribbons.
{is there anyone who does not LOVE ribbons?!?!}
you wanna play in here, the deadlines a long time away...
oooh Yummy! I placed a visit to the sponsors site too...
major drool fest for me...

revisiting some old and newer stamps combos

hee hee... Penny has tagged me as an Rockin' girl blogger! :) I'm going to A) try very hard not to get a swelled head and B) check before i post my list of who I am going to tag with this. The template is not letting me tinker today so, I will move my kewl pink button to the side later... :) I have had so much happy mail. I have not photographed any of it. Sorry Guys, I'm hoping to share soon. It rained all day yesterday. (which was nice) and the bread turned out to be a flop taste wise, so no recipe to share. but it did give me the idea to try adding a pint of Blueberries to my regular Zucchini bread recipe (which does have super flavor) after that experiment i will post results if it turns out really yummy.
yes, I do know its blurry... BUT i managed to catch the bling bling from this angle so i kept the shot anyways. {it's from an sakura gelly roll pen, Stardust}
This wreath stamp (SU) is probably one of the oldest stamps i own. I've had it a LONG time, and I have no memory of ever making a card with it. It is stamped with Versafine Smokey Grey. and colored with Prisma markers and pencils. Last night I received my SU order from Alice's last party and I wanted to play with these papers they are even better looking in person. the darker blue in the base of the card is Blue Bayou and its stamped with the Fine Lace in Not Quite Navy dye ink, then the light blue color under the wreath and sentiment are the Soft Sky color cardstock. the red color is Cranberry Crisp. and the pale green under the sentiment is River Rock. I'm not positive about the light blue organdy, It could be SU or it could be Offray. This card is 5X7 in real life.
This was the first card i did today after work, the background (Well Worn Words) from SU is stamped with Tim Holtz Fired Brick distress dye ink on cream cardstock then trimmed with deckle scissors. Its Mounted to Mellow Moss cardstock that has Gold Krylon Paint pen on the edges, the ribbon is from May Arts, the sentiment is from Savvy Stamps. the Main image is from Holly Berry house, its colored with Mellow moss, and tombow #837 markers and some sakura gelly roll pens. there is also Large gold brad (Joanns) in the center. I don't think i will do this layout again, but I do like the color combo.

Caardvarks 10 Day 10 K...

Wow how cool is this eh? UNO WINNING CARD By Stacy Sheldon :) It's just as good as winning the lotto~ ( esp. since I don't buy tickets for lotto, all my play money goes into rubber) I did these challenges for fun, to push myself, and each next morning when i would look at all the day before cards uploaded i would think wow look at her card, look at that card. So, this is really really cool that one of mine was picked. You can see the entire list of winning cards grouped together with nice comments here on the Caardvarks blog: Winning cards list about half way through this challenge week i put club scrap into eBay to see what would happen and it showed me some neat looking stamps, so i won a few and the first bunch arrived in the mail last night, they stamp beautifully! (used even) so, now i am even more looking forward to the others coming soon. I haven't been online much this week, feeling kinda blah. but, hopefully will have something new to share maybe even today? Tim found a recipe for zucchini blueberry bread, so I'm gonna bake after work. (its cooled off a bit here so, it should be OK to have the oven on) Have a great day!

7.15.2007

I Miss Shoe, So very Much!

Just a little something from this afternoon, stamps are from SU, Impression Obsession, and Stampotiqu Originals. this card is 4 1/2" x 6". Faded paisley pp is from Deja Views. tfl.

Happy Birthday Myrna!

This morning i woke up to mail from Myrna, who never fails to make me smile... and she was feeling a little "old" today for her birthday... (shes now as old as me ha ha) then i went to split coast to check out the dirty dozen upload. ( i joined that a few weeks ago because Beth said it was worth it) so i have found it WAS worth joining. ( the dirty dozen fan club) there is an members only gallery that the design team uploads to. and I came across this really FAB card called a pocket card, and the designer had filled it with bobbins of ribbons she made her self with the rounded tab punchie. (from SU) and my mind flashed to Myrna (whose a su demo) and i got the idea to do this as a little fun thing for her birthday. but, since i cant get it to her today, I'm posting it here so she can "virtually unwrap it" Happy Birthday Girl! hope you are having a great day! ~Stacy

Day ten

Today is the last day of the 10day10K challenge at Caardvarks, the challenge was to scrap lift an valentine that Jenyfur made on the Club scrap site. (and you had to do a scavenger hunt for the card.) So, I told myself, you can do this its just like doing a sketch card. Mine is not an exact copy but, I'm thinking its close enough. This card is 5X7 in real life.
On My card, the printed papers are from Basic Grey, the pink card stock is Bazzill, and the darker reddish is unknown, the lace was run through an 150 Xyron sticker maker, the sentiment brad is unknown, the Largest stitched heart stamp is from Hero Arts, (all the stamps were inked with Versafine Vintage Sepia) the Smaller Heart "Amour" is from Stampin'Up, as is the with all my heart sentiment. each of those is up on popdots, I substituted the metal staple for a metal hat pin ( a lady in town hand makes them and one of the lss sells them for her) the ribbon is from Offray. tfl!

7.13.2007

Wind it up again {Challenge card}

Todays challenge at caardvarks was to use a clock face on the front of the card. (This card is 5X7)
The printed papers are from K&Co. and Crate paper. the round HB sentiment is from Inkadinkado, the other sentiment is from A stamp in the Hand. The black shadow floofy flower on the tag is from Purple Onion Designs. the black chipboard lable is from Heidi Swapp. the clock face is self adhesive and i have no idea who makes it. The cream flowers with stems are from Impress and the daisy type is from Prima. The lace is from Joanns fabric's (its one of those ones that hides in the trim dept. that you have to stand in line to have cut) But, i don't remember the mfg.
I was half way suprised to see i had a clock face. :)
this one was a fun challenge to do.

July Week 2 Sketch and Sample

I have to tell you I am not the kind of card maker who makes a sketch then goes out and makes a card. I'm the kind of card maker who makes a card at last minute then tries to create a sketch of it...( esp. when she is really dumb and volunteers to host a sketch ~ only once a year so...) I had so many ideas. but, not much time this week. I have spent a lot of my free create time on the caardvarks challenges. (good thing there's only a couple more to go)
These images (SU) are from Jean at the stamp shack, they arrived in yesterday evening's mail. :) they are colored with prisma markers and pencils. the flower punch is from Martha Stewart and has two buttons layered onto it. the blue one was the right color but said, DUKE DUKE on it, which looked a little Odd, so i tied the cream button to the top of it with Karen Foster scrappers floss. the ribbon is unknown (I E I've already forgotten but, think it could be from Micheal's) the blue cardstock is from Diecuts with a View, but the harlequin pp is from my scrapbin and i dont remember anymore who makes it. the photocorners are from Chatterbox.
This card is 6 X 6 in real life, if you create a card from the sketch you can link it to the stamping board at two peas so everyone else playing along can see more versions.
Happy Friday the 13th people!

7.12.2007

Eight is Enough challenge cards

This was my first card I did today for the caardvarks {8 is enough} challenge, its 5X7 in real life, the two printed papers are from cloud nine, they are bouncing baby girl and baby girl plaid (and they are double sided) the pink ribbon is from May arts and the green ric-rac is from Wrights, the flower stitch stamp is from Technique Tuesday and the sentiment is an M's Dollar stamp from Retro Lunchbox. there is some stickles stardust and Pink liquid pearls in a few spots, but this card is fairly close to flat. (for me anyways)
After i finished the first card I started trimming the POD unmounted solid flowers Michele gifted me with for the Challenge at peas, and so I am sending her this card as a TY the TY sentiment's from Hero Arts. This card is 6 X6 in real life, The plain ribbon is from MM and the stitched ribbon i think is AMM, the punchie circle Mats are from my scrap bin and unknown. the mini brad is from Reminisce. the old green background was made on cream cardstock with Fiber scraps walnut ink tintz in foam top bottles i picked up a CK convention a couple of years ago. ( I don't think i have ever seen these in a store since though, Now i wish i had picked up more colors.)

7.11.2007

Lucky No.7

This is my very Quick Caardvarks challenge card for Day 7 which was to make an "Good Luck" card. This card is A 2 in size, the background was done with ranger Alcohol Inks. The photo corners were punched from Green Velvet paper with an EK Sucess Whale of a Punch, the Sentiment came out of a Dymo Label maker, the clover that is in the moss green pigment ink (solid looking stamped repeatedly) is from Inkadinkado. The detailed Clover is from PSX and stamped in Versafine Olympian Green with some tombo markers and a spot of PSX lime Glitter glue in the center. tfl.

7.10.2007

Day 6

Today's Challenge at Caardvarks was to create a card that measures 6" X 6" square, so this is mine. The vases of flowers stamp is from either Stampendous or Inkadinkado (I tend to confuse both of those lines they tend to look the same to me) , and the sentiment is from A Muse artstamps. There are some Heidi Swapp crystals on a few flowers and some glitter glue and liquid pearls on others. the parts that are colored were done with a Prisma Marker (red) or pencil (yellow). The mini brads are from Reminisce, the papers are all from my scrap bin, but the red crinkle is from Provocraft and the red dots is from MM, but the harlequin pp used to be black and white and I used it in a wedding album a couple of years ago, so I have totally spaced who makes it. (its double sided though) I have rubbed some tea dye distress ink on the white parts and the edgs. The Black photo corners are from Pioneer. tfl.
Do you ever get the idea that all your cards look the same?
( I do every time i see one of mine in the computer) :)

7.09.2007

I have more Happy Mail today!

Did this really quick this am before work because when i got up the stairs i seen i had missed Meg's birthday... (yesterday) and so, anyways this is going in the mail tomorrow... (had to let the glue sit to dry)
The barcode stamp is from Stampin up and inked with Nick Bantock Damsom Plum dye ink. tfl.
Its too dark to get a good photo now, but the prize from Michele at Purple Onion designs for the solid flower image card challenge arrived.
(Its brand spankin new solid flower images from POD!!!)
Which as soon as i get some cling on them will be covered with ink... :)
I also received an huge assortment of Stamped images from Michelle328 and her really cool card that won the non ink stamped challenge from WSW that I hosted. It is so much fun to get to hold a card in your hand that you only see a photo of on the Internet, its like even the digital photos may not capture it all, the way your eyes do when you can tilt it and finger the lumps and bumps and such.
one more to thank, Julie (StampCrazyJulie) sent me some really fun Bella Images today and they are ones I have not played with before, so it will be a huge challenge to color the "Super Bella".
I guess this gives you the idea of what you will be seeing here soon!
have a good whats left of the evening!

{5 Star} Caardvarks challenge card

I'm finding I really love these little tease shots that show just how lumpy the cards are... scans do not do cards justice as far as i can tell. the challenge at { Caardvarks } Today was to create a card with 5 kinds of embellishments...
So, this i my version the embellishment types are an MM fabric birthday sticker, MM photo turns & self adhesive half a pearl thingy, pink brads are unknown and the cream ribbon is from May Arts.
this card is 6X6 in real life, the Impression Obsession Hat is colored with Prisma pencils, the flower is stamped twice and up on popdots. (as is the matted MM sticker) the Printed Paper is from Anna Griffin. The textured green card stock is from Bazzill and the other is naturals Ivory from SU. tfl.
