WOYWW #416 {wings}

Good Morning, & Happy Anniversary to everyone who plays along with What's on your Wednesday Workdesk each week. If you'd care to join in the link up starts here at our hostess Miss Julia's blog.

Lets see, these are new to me dies from Birch Press Design, its called Paradiso Butterfly ( and I picked it up as the full set of 3 dies that layer, but the mfg site does sell them as single dies) When these dies came out I loved what other people were doing with them but, I really didn't think I would use them more than once or twice ( the big backgrounds) but, I do love these butterflies. (there was a big sale at SSS for Mothers day so, happy day to me )
So far I have cut a lot of scraps and made one card that I will blog about after I hear its been delivered. The thicker 110# neenah is harder to remove from the dies than the 80# cardstock. I did cut some with shimmer card, vellum card, some mulberry papers. ( they all worked for me, I did not use the wax paper routine either just what ever paper I grabbed to cut)

It's been really (early) hot here the last couple of days so, the what I am pushing around is taking longer than normal for me as I do have a window air conditioner for upstairs but, its not in the window yet haha. the news here was showing a lower 48 map and it was hotter at my house than Miami Florida on monday night while it was on... (ACK!) lol

Oh and exciting news, the cabinets are done as of last wed. the sink that was not supposed to be here for 3 more weeks was picked up last Saturday so, things are moving right along with the kitchen and the drywall (plaster board) started going up on the ceiling yesterday..

If you were curious about the Hero Arts box, I blogged about that here. ( and made a 10# card with lumps and bumps and even fibers) ( which I really do not care much for but, someone will like it)

I am going to try to make to all the stops this week but, I am not sure how long that will take me to do. Thanks for stopping by!

Really pretty dies.

We had that weather last week and, like you, hadn't got our air conditioners in yet. I was SO glad when it did cool down and I felt like moving at all.

Hi Stacy. Of all the days to choose my friends came round and we've been out most of the day so I am trying to catch-up with the visits before bed. Gorgeous butterflies, really like those. Many thanks for the visit to mine. Happy woyww, Angela x17x

What gorgeous butterflies, Stacy. I always say "can anyone ever have enough butterflies" lol! I am so glad your kitchen is coming on well. Work on our new pantry should start in about 3 weeks - I had a very good meeting with the carpenter this evening to discuss it and I think it's going to be great. Thank you for your visit and your sweet comment about poor Phoebe. We are all missing her greatly, including Beatrice, our other kitty, who has spent most of today in the garden looking for her, which is very distressing.

I am so glad you like the 2 cards I made for my hubby - I confess to being a serious texture junkie.

Happy WOYWW,

I'm in love with those butterfly dies. The result is fantastic, and I simply adore how you colored them. Thanks for the tip on Purell for my hands. I finally got them clean in the shower. It took two times washing my hair for it all to come off, though.

It was hot here last week, but this week it's been cooler, thankfully. I still run my AC in the afternoon, though. So I can definitely empathize and hope yours gets installed soon.

Sorry I'm late in visiting. I had a commitment today, so had to be away from the computer. Happy 8th Anniversary from # 1.

I've seen quite a few butterflies on my visits this week, it must be the sunshine bringing them out, lol.

Hi Stacy, The butterflies are beautiful. Put onto a length of ribbon, they'd make a lovely garland/bunting.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.

great looking butterflies. Stampin Up came out with a die years ago but not nearly as awesome as this. I may have to look into getting one like this. It alternates between hot and cold around here this year. Not real happy when it drops into the 60's for several days and cools off the pool. Hope you have a great week. Thanks for stopping by and visiting my desk and garden earlier! Vickie #55

I love the mermaid box! The 3-D effect is really nice, and I love the "seaweed" going up! Great job! Thanks for your earlier visit! Happy 8th WOYWW anniversary! Lindart #51

Gorgeous dies. I never faff with wax paper either, but if you rub a tumble dryer sheet over the cutting side of the die, that works really well too. Sarah #27

Remembering a year ago when we had a new kitchen - at present we are having a new bathroom. Why do we like disruption? Or is it enforced and not liked? Good luck with it, hope it is soon over and done.
Love the new dies, gorgeous butterflies.
Thanks for visiting me and Happy 8th Anniversary - Hugs, Neet xx

I didn't have acces to a computer last couple of days so I'm very, VERY late visiting desks and celebrating the 8th anniversary... anyway, here I am! I love those butterfly stamps... and I'm glad to hear the work in your house is going well... I HATE those kind of things (and the noise it usual makes...) good luck! Thanks for visiting my blog last week, it's so nice to be part of this lovely group of crafters. Hooray, hooray and on to another year of 'desking' and crafting! Hug from Holland, Marit #29

Well I promised I would try to get back to people who visited my 416 WOYWW post, but I didn't expect it to be this long before I managed it. Thanks you for your nice comments on my post, and aren't your butterflies fantastic. The die set doesn't seem to be available in UK, which is probably good for my bank account, but I love the colours of yours.
