Little something from yesterday

The theme challenge up in the stamp shack at the moment is fantasy fairy tales... and this was the first thing that came to mind.
The couple is from Inkadinkado, the Paisley is from PSX, the Sentiment is from The Angel Co. they are all stamped with Versafine Crimson Red ink on cream hammermill 110 from staples. the couple is up on popdots. the Script cuttlebug embossed piece has some Aged mahogany distress ink stippled over it, and the base color is Cranberry Crisp from SU. This is about 4 1/2" x 6" in real life, it was totally inspired by the wide burgundy lace that Linda gifted me with.

Today we went to meet our Puppy

We spent most the day either in the truck traveling or playing with the puppies in the laundry room. They will be ready to go home around mid March and are already eating puppy food.
Most the photos are blond yellow fur blurs haha. but, these are a few of the keepers.
Storm had a blast playing in the yard with his sister while we were there, so the ride home turned into nap time.
It's official that my cold is really a sinus infection so, lets cross our fingers the antibiotics kill it quick! I'd really rather be stamping. ending on a happy note Blogger seems to have fixed my spell check button!

Sick of being sick...

a yucky post but if you have not been hearing from me, this is why. Saturday i drove Alice to Medford to spend her Christmas gift certificate i got her for the big scrap/stamp store over there, all day she kept telling me she was cold. Sunday afternoon i started getting a sore throat, which turned into a full blown sinus allergy type cold. yesterday i made a trip to the post office and tripped on the ice, landed on the cement sidewalk, so my left hand and both knees are scrapped up pretty bad. Today i have lost my voice. I hope this passes quickly i really would rather be stamping, :) so, if you don't hear from me soon. this is why,

Seventeen Dollars and Fourty Nine Cents

Two things are missing from this photo, one bottle of river rock re-inker and one extra sellebration stamp set. I paid 17.49 for this...
Left side closer look
Right side peek... So how right? I received two SU gift certificates for Christmas ( 225.00 ) I turned in an 500.00 catalog party on Feb 1st. and it all arrived on Wed and my demo swung it by work yesterday afternoon...
So, I have mounted every single one of those stamps now, and have started playing with them...
This is the first two cards, the Bronc rider and swirls are stamped with Versafine Vintage sepia on the cream ( confetti? ) the one in the front was first, and has the one and only is stamped with a marker, then My Hero is from A Muse, the printed paisley pp is from Debbie Mumm, the blue cardstck is Blue Bayou. these are A-2 in size.
This one the Pretty Petals background is stamped with Adironack earthtones Rasin on Hammermil cream cardstock. ( it doesn't dry fast so i managed to smear it under the heart.) and knowing that i managed to smear the heart, hence the color dusting of tattered rose all over it. the Cranberry crisp cardstock and the lace is from the notions dept. this ones about 4 1/2" x 6" in real life. the Hearts up on pop dots.
My current goal since i mailed off a flat rate box filled with cards to Sandy this morning is to make some cards that are gender specific but, dont actually say " happy birthday" or Happy Fathers day figure, if they like the card well enough to use it they can write the occassion on the inside.
oh yes, the spell checker in this site is still broken. says message failed response 500 internal server error after 328 ms. ( so, does this mean everyone who uses the spell check has to start a new blog after so many messages or what?)
:)

More Laundry Notes and Poppies

All of these images on these cards in todays post came to me via wish rak at splitcoast. the printed papers are from the scraps bins... I put this one together yesterday afternoon, the pp is from Anna Griffin, and the lace is notions trim.
brads are lasting impressions. textured pp is unknown.
I really like this particular flower. im like a hairs breath away from getting serious about winning this set, ( but i dont feel passionate about the rest of the set is the only thing that's stopped me)
There are two like this one, some are set aside for Sandy and some are going to RAK newbies eventually.
Anyways, its been an incredibly LONG week.
Saturday evening when we picked up Storm at DH's hunting buddies home he had told us he had taken his little black lab puppy to the vet hospital and did not know what was wrong, sunday AM he called puppy was diagosed with Parvoirus. ( and was given an 85% chance of making it) but she did not.
Fast forward to Monday am i had Storm into our vet for booster shots. They really think he will be OK and not catch this. ( because of his age) he turned one last Thanksgiving and what protects adult dogs from this is their immune system is more developed and their digestive tract too....
BUT,
we cannot expose Storm to any puppies for the next two weeks. ( so week and a half) it will now be March before we will go to the breeders to see the puppies in person and pick.
DH's parents picked up a chocolate lab puppy last sunday afternoon and I am looking forward to meeting him too, but, Storm goes pretty much every where with me so, it can wait.
When we go to the breeders to pick the people who pick ahead of us in the line, we wont even see thier puppies until we have choosen. ( we will see the two we get to choose from) so, its not like i can have someone call and say oooh we want the blonde. ( she may already be spoken for for all i know) I am not trying to focus on them as individuals until we see the two.
on a Happier note, last fridays DR. visit went pretty well. we snuck J in with us. they only allow one person to go with you, and its always been Tim.
This time there were hearing tests, and I am hearing sounds in normal ranges all of them except the highest high note and the lowest low note. so she adjusted those tones, there were some say a word and then she would say words without letting me "see" her mouth so, i was able to hear maybe 3 or 4 of those, then there was the speaker test. Last October one of the hearing tests i had was they played a cd through a speaker of a man reading sentences. ( I did not hear a single thing) this time they did it again, I could hear the man speaking and got like 3 different words ( from i dont know how many sentences) Now i have 3 new programs again, and i dont go back to have them adjusted for two months. whoo two months before we have to pack and lose a weekend sounds like a really good deal.
I've probably mentioned before i dont travel well and I'd just rather be at home. :)
got my fingers crossed that the su party will actually get delivered today too, my demo was supposed to get the box yesterday. I'll have to take a photo of the loot. :)
More later,

Snapshots

Air J? :)
They are 3 week's + old now and their eyes are open,
They've figured out they can crawl
and they've found their voices and know they can bark now.
so cute. hopefully the weather holds and we can go see them in person soon. it will be a couple mounts now before i have to go back for more adjustments to the sound processor. this round came home with 3 new programs again. did some hearing tests this time too, will blabber about that later.

Blue Without U cards

One of Sandy's winter stamp challenges going on now at two Peas is for "missing you"cards to be sent to hero's. so, these are the three i did today for that. You can find out more how you can send your own cards to the troops here:
This was done with that new inkadinkado stamp i got in yesterdays mail on soft sky cardstock and vintage sepia ink. this one is 5X7 in real life. lace is from the notions dept. ( think hemming type) the computer font is Susies Hand and printed on Hammermill coverstock from Staples.
This one i did because i was messing around with punchies thinking to add a small sentiment below the big lace heart on the card below, but that didnt work out, so then made more hearts from the scrap bin to carry the row across. has some stickles and liquid pearls on it for bling. the ribbon is mostly hidden. :)
this was the first one, the stripe pp (and the dots in the top card) are from Paper Salon and the swirly paper in the top one is from provocraft. tfl.

ah Ha! Snowdays ARE good 4 something!

Today is day one of the winter stamp at twopeas... ( and of course we crashed the site right off the bat ) :) So, I did read that one was an Card you could send to a single person for Valentines day.
I think this will work, even though its not snarky. my thought was something like Blue this Valentines. Anyways that HUGE lace heart is from Inkadinkado, I bought it and one of the sentiments below from an eBay seller a few days ago and they arrived in this afternoons mail. so this card also falls into the use the last two stamps you bought challenge too...
Its stamped with versafine vintage sepia on pp, then the torn edges are inked with colorbox creamy brown fluid chalk ink. its 5 1/2 inches Square. no idea on who makes the cardbase cardstock ( it has tiny flecks of brown in the blue though)
The other challenge i remember reading about was to do something Chocolate themeded. and this Heart Chocolate from Peddlers pack is one i picked up in their store in Beaverton last weekend. Its stamped with vintage sepia on a scrap of holly pond hill pp. and trimmed with mini pinking shears, there is some liquid pearls on the frosting detailing part of the image. the Sentiments from Stampa Rosa and on Basic Grey PP. That ribbon i can never remember the second half of the mft name but the first part is Creative something. ?? ( they dont sell it where i live and i always forget to write it down when i do come across it)
This was pretty much a take off of the first one, used EYELETS ah, havent done that in a LONG time, they even go through all the layers to the inside this time. ( haven't done something like that in many years, it kinda feels "freeing" ) Sentiments from Stampa Rosa also.
This is the sentiment that came in the mail today. figured i had to use it with a skinny person image. and i figured you can't get any skinnier then the bellas. ( haha ) ribbon is from Offray.
Your gonna be seeing these off and on for a while, i stamped and embossed this stocking at least a dozen times when i first got it so, i now have 3 cards made from the pile, the one on the left, that sentiment in the circle was punched from a larger lable image from su with an 1" circle punch. so, its up on popdots. the one on the right, the sentiments stamped on the inside, a Penny Black one that reads "a MERRY Christmas to you!"
This is an old PSX image ( the candle stick ) and these are some of the images i colored a while back when i had the free time in the end of Dec. the Card on the right, the sentiments from the All Holidays (SU) Set and the card on the left the sentiments from A Muse.
This fun image also came in the mail today as a Wish granted to me from Kathleen Curry, I was so excited to see the size of this in real life, I think i will be trying harder to "win" this set in the future. :) its colored with prisma pencils and the Hello is from Stampendous, the cardbase and the mat on the sentiment are Cranberry Crisp, and the peachy distress is PP from the scrap bin. ( I'm sure if you scroll down I have named this paper not to long ago but, I dont remember who makes it already)
Today Tim had to go into work ( which was supposed to be for about 4 or 5 hours which turned into 12) and J went to one of his friends houses for a while after lunch so, we have a stereo in the Hobby room and since no one else was there to add noise to the room i decided to turn an old old tape on in the stereo. nope doesnt sound "right" but, i could hear enough of the notes that i can recognize it as "music noise" rather it has a beat and I can anticipate that part again. (couldnt make out the lyrics ) but, that's ok. gonna try it again soon maybe with something that has the lyrics printed on the cover.
watching the news is the easiest thing to follow on the TV. so far.
am watching L O S T again, but its kinda hard to follow the cc and the box they are playing at the bottom with the what happend the first 3 years commentary... ( hopefully everyone who has never seen it is now caught up and they will do away with that part )
Anyways, stay warm!

Some quickies from this afternoon

The whippersnapper truffles are a wishrak image that came to me from Denise ( peanutbee ) and i colored a few of them a while back with prisma pencils and made a few into cards today. this one the sentiment's from Anticpations and up on pop dots. the background pp is from K&co. and this is wallpapered over a premade DCWV card. so, its 5 1/2" square in real life.
This one I think the pp is also K&Co? its sewn to the bazzill textured mat & wall papered to the DCWV card. the Stampendous Joy is stamped with versafine Vintage Sepia ink on white cardstock and punched with an Martha stewart tag punch, its tied onto the corner of the truffles mat with Gold SU elastic cord. the truffles are up on popdots.
This one, i have no idea on who makes that pp, pulled it out of the purples scrap bin because it worked with how i had colored these... the sentiments from Stampa Rosa, and up on pop dots, the ribbon is May Arts
Another Wish Rak Image, this one the elzybell ( a winters song ) came to me from Catherine ( Lexant ) and the sentiment ( amuse is stamped on an Amuse skinny large oval background stamp) the printed papers i think are from one of those mat stack packs of paper but not sure on the mfg info... ( maybe the My minds eye one that was at costco last summer?) This one is a gatefold card.
this was a just messing around one, the girl with the frog is stamped inside an Judikins postage frame, then the pucker up sentiment i ran up the side of the frame thinking to make this look like a postage stamp, I colored this one with markers though and I dont like how it turned out, the blue shimmer cardstock has an TAC sentiment on it, and the Mellow Moss cardstock i used a pale blue shimmery chalk pad across the cuttlebug embossing on it. this is all layered to a pre-made Shimmery red card base from DMD industries. the ribbons from May Arts. tfl PS the spell check in this site has not worked all day and it has disabled the iespell i have installed on my computer from working in here...

Happy Mail {again :) }

This one i just received, it came to me all the way from Down Under. ( Sarah LoobyLou one of the mods at the stamp shack did it) This is my first Aussie card!! :) I hope you can see the embossing on the flower petals there is a lot of texture depth to this card. This one came to me from Lena And Tina Tacker ( Tackertwosome ) at splitcoast, for being an wish rak volunteer. :) The scallops on the front edge are the front of the card, and so i leaned it up against the white cardstock blocking out my inkpads and so, its not really tilted in real life. :)
This one came to me from Peppern ( Splitcoast ) i didn't notice it, but in January anyone who is a volunteer at wish rak had a week they were "special weekly raked" and this is the first card i received for that. :)
This one makes me laugh and AMEN every time i see it, I've had it on the table since Sharon mailed it to me, the abbreviation stands for Thank GOD its Over! ( its a new years card ) our other new years newsletters are family mug shot types so, this one hasnt been put away yet. :)

Second Snowday in a Row

Only today we got to stay home and play. Couldnt decide which shot i liked best. So, you get to see them both.
The Godspeed image came to me via Wish Rak at split coast as did the Define your life gratitude sentiment. the Thank-you is from Fancy Flexible Phrases and stamped on whisper white with versafine ink, then has tea dye distress stipped onto it. ( as does the other stamped pieces) the background is a foil transfer of shabby shutters distress ink on georgia pacific white cardstock. the tan textured cardstock is from Bazzill and the fiber is from fibers by the yard ( # 527 green pea ) This is 5 1/2" Square in real life. tfl.
