Clean and Simple cards

There is another cards for the troops drive going on now via Wish Rak inside SplitCoast stampers... these particular cards are flat A-2 in size and use an Impression Obsession image stamped in Versafine vintage sepia with some antique linen distress along the pinking sheared edges. insides are cream smooth neenah cardstock. used an copic on the Love sign. simple, easy, clean. that seems to be the "what they want" they meaning OWH... interesting thing they give you a receipt now when you send in donated cards... so all the cards i sent last year, my CPA decided were worth a whopping 9.00... and that floored me. and it hurt a little and I demanded to know why. smart ass comment was, you can only claim what the cardstock costs... So, I think that really sucks. big time, I would rather not receive a receipt for donations anymore is my way of thinking ( all non-money donations) its all pretty much the same deal. If you grow too much food in your garden and give it to the food bank they weigh it so your receipts have weight amounts on them... ( no one could buy the food given away for what you can claim it at) and I think well No Wonder there are hungry people. the first time someone puts a dollar figure on something you give away, and its a teeny amount of money no sentiment involved at all it makes you feel like well that is not worth the bother. And thats not true. for the people who receive it I'm sure. So, when I mail these in I will not send any slips saying they are from me. and i will follow the rules ( have you noticed the rules are breeding in the dark again?) stamp the back, tuck it this way only make tiny flat cards so you can mass produce them in large quantities... *sigh*

Sorta takes the fun out of giving huh?? I do know though from my BIL who just came home from Iraq that he had a harder time sending back any of my more embellished cards, guess they wondered what all the lumps and bumps where?? It's hard to make cards without embellies though!

$9?!? Have you shown your CPA a catalogue and the price of CS these days? My Mom and I always calculate 1.5-2 sheets per card.
I hadn't heard about the embellies thing - guess it is a good thing I tend toward CAS and most of my embellies consist of rhinestones, half-backed pearls and brads.
