Precious Moments

puffy plastic heart from MM attached with 3 or 4 large glue dots...
bling view, some gelly roll glaze pen on the veil.
this is an PIF image that came to me from Mimi... Thanks! its colored with prisma pencils. the blush cardstock is from PTI and an wish rak gift from Kathy! Thanks!
Its about 5 1/2" square in real life, linen cardbase is Neenah papers, filigree background is embossed with a sparkle pink powder. the lace over it is vintage. the black texture cardstock is bazzill. white is gp110. the satin trimmed organdy ribbon is from Offray. heart brads and heart puff thing is from MM.

grace

ok so graces blood tests came back clean... she doesn't have any of the things that kill dogs quick once they start causing seizures... so, the best guess diagnosis is epilepsy and she's now on her first batch of pills. was told it could take a bit for her to adjust to the pills and she may weave around like a drunk dog for a while as that happens.. whew. so, the vet is calling around trying to find a dog orthodontist vet that is able to cap her teeth. her bottom jaw is too narrow to do the plate in the mouth thing. (which is less invasive and was the hoped for option) anyways, thanks for your prayers. :) more later, me

So far today

this Cornish heritage farms frog chorus came to me as a PIF image from Alison. I think this is just too dang cute. colored it with prisma pencils. the green pp is from Karen foster. the tan textured mat is bazzill, the Enjoy (su lovely labels) is stamped with versafine Spanish moss on barely banana. the yellow card base is from Neenah papers. Tag is unknown and the ribbon i believe could be May Arts but, also unknown.
This Penny Black (missed you) hedgehog came to me via wish rak, and its colored with prisma pencils. its up on pop dots. the grosgrain is SU but not sure on the color, (got it in rainy's swap a few years ago) think the pp could be dcwv? sentiments from A Muse and the cardbase is Purely Pomegranate. this is 4 1/2X6 inches in real life.
Grace went through her vet visit very well (for her) vet was impressed by how well she behaved (more then last month) so that's good. the main thing now is we are all hoping she has epilepsy. (that the blood work comes in as nothing wrong) if her seizures are caused by something that could be found in the blood test (won't know till wed) then this will more or less mean she will have a very short life with alot of medical problems. pain suffering etc. so, if she has epilepsy it would mean medication and she could live fairly normal for years. (depends) her teeth and jaw bones were checked and her bottom jaw is too narrow to be able to get the plate in her mouth ( to force the teeth to grow around the top jaw) so, the vet is also looking for a vet that does the cut off the tips of the canine teeth and cap them thing. ( she doesn't have the equipment for that in her hospital) this dental work is more invasive then the plate. At any rate Grace could use a few prayers if you have a spare one. thanks!

cards from the last 12 hours

rak image, colored with pencils... plan to write on the inside... (come over an play?) I think this is just too stinkin cute, but was also very hard on my eyes to color. the sentiments from Lockhard stamps, cream ribbon is May Arts, skinny green is offray, the stripe pp is basic grey and the pinkish cs is Bazzill. I'm pretty sure this is a wish rak image (from Jessica) but, I'm not positive about that one anymore. but i do know it was an wish rak one... so THANKS!
used a tiny paint brush to put some diamond glaze glue on the rain drops.
i was totally shocked friday when i brought the mail in the house. i had a wish open for any hero arts collage background image... and this wood mounted stamp was gifted to me. Thanks Julie! I've added the lace from trimtastic and the swirls with dots to it and then the sentiment across the bottom. There is some diamond glaze and clear glitter over the postoid part of the collage.
tried it again as a flat card. first card the postoid part is covered with diamond glaze and microfine clear glitter.
this image came to me all the way from Australia (thanks Shannah) it's colored with prisma pencils. the flowers and brad are MM pp is basic grey.
that paper was in my give it away pile... and it made me laugh to see it was pretty close color wise to how i had colored this one. ( have another one colored in peachy colors) and i thought ok that retro thing really goes with the drag queen look. ( which is what i think all of these gals (dolly mama's look like to me) anyways this is 6 inches square in real life.
another rak image (from heaven and nature) Thanks Kitty! the sentiments from stampendous. stamped with versafine red on Sahara sand scrap. the red cardstock (maybe ruby red) have to check, mat is Sahara sand, then cardbase is Kraft.
colored this one last night, Thanks Thao! totally too cute. the little glitter square things (plastic)(maybe heidi grace?) i have had for years and years without ever using any. photo corners are MM and mini brads are lasting impressions. textured cs is Bazzill, image is stamped on GP110. sentiments from A Muse, the blueish cs is from Papertrey ink and also a granted Wish Rak. :) this one is an slimline design that finished out at 4" x 9" in real life.

this one made me laugh out loud when i pulled the images from the envelope. Thanks Julie, (colored with pencils) that handmade paper i found at one of those scrap conventions (years and years ago) it was horribly expensive at the time and I've hoarded it ever since. the blue shimmer cardbase is star dream. the ric rac was an RAK from an eBay seller.

Look at the bling... just keeping busy. this was not all the way dry when i shot it, used liquid glue on the hand made paper so it dried lumpy and i may have to cut it in half and try gluing it to another card base. not sure yet. want to add a sentiment to it too but still thinking on that one.

6.21.2008

today is 5 months old

for Grace. and yesterday i seen her have a seizure for the first time. Tim had seen one the day or two before that. We don't know what it is yet, she has a blood test appointment monday am. Her adult canine teeth are starting to grow in now also so that will need checked too. cross your fingers if its epilepsy its the easy to treat one and not a combination of a whole bunch of things to go wrong. more later, me

todays cards

Card I made for my husband for fathers day... kids fishing is from Viva Las Vegas stamps, sentiments are from SU. (Always)
This main image came to me as a rak/challenge from Pam. (a very long time ago) and she said I am so looking forward to seeing what you do with this... which tends to worry me when someone tells me that one... ( this was before i decided i like to color with pencils mind you) so anyways... colored this about a month ago now, and finally made it into a card. the green pp is from Basic Grey, sentiments from Inkadinkado. the fibers are from Brown Bag Fibers ( i think they went out of business though) the huge diamond paperclip is something from my stash (scrapbooker days) and never used these before could not figure out how to tuck these paper clips into the layers and not have them look strange ( losing half the shape) so wound the fibers through it. that's all that is holding it in place.
latte fibers inside paperclip view.
bling (sakura gelly roll pen ) on light house. could not figure out what colors to do the flag so finally just left it alone.
one of the challenges at peas right now is to do a technique and shoot a photo of it... this is something of a fall back when i don't feel like being creative tech. for me. its distress ink foil transferred to cheap cardstock. (IE pat ink pad on foil, mist with water, rub cardstock into it. let it dry) instant pp. this gp110 with distress shabby shutters ink. ( i tend to do a whole bunch of these at once and save them, so one of the colors that came before this was fired brick so, I wipe off what i see on the foil but... missed some...
tree line background stamp is from Ariz Stamps too!, moose are from Great Impressions, tree is from PSX, Sentiment is from SU (vogue verses) the edges are done in tea dye distress, stamping is versafine vintage sepia and Olympia green. this is 5X7 in real life.
this was almost done was busy scoring along the edges got to the last edge (top of fibers) and dragged the stick out of the groove. hate that when that happens and its always when the card is almost done... so the fix was to add the fibers by the year duck pond yarn over the blooper.
when they are spread out its not quite so bad... this is 4X6 in real life. the duck collage is from Paper Inspirations. sentiments from Inkadinkado
it had to happen sooner or later right. would try some colors and come up with a butt ugly card... lol the closest cardstock i had was the purely pomegranate (which is so not me of a color) and then i added the textured bazzill and thought whoa, well you can always donate it when your done. the shimmery copper just makes the whole colors worse i guess. but, now you know yep i do cards i don't like and i even photograph them. ( its mostly so i remember i don't like this so i wont do it again.) this is 5X7 in real life. sentiments from the circle of friends (su) punched with the Martha Stewart scalloped circle then matted with an 1 1/4inch plain circle. so that's it for today.
plenty of more drama with ds and his friends and their parents. (not much has been resolved) nothing is changed in the fact that he still has no wallet, ds game player or 4 of his games... but, we have to just let this go. Don't want to even think about it anymore. perhaps if he can start taking care of his things maybe maybe i will get a new one for next Christmas but, I'm not going to run out and replace these things. part of the problem lies in the fact that he does not take care of his things. and this has to come to an end. boy is summer vacation looking like summer torture for both of us... (at least i can go to work) lol.
ps if your family and you have not received a fathers day card its because they are going into the mail tomorrow... been yucky and sad all week. sorry.
submitted this one to the Christmas in June challenge for WSW ( then will count it as card 4 for my quota at sps)... Silent mice image are colored with prisma pencils ( surprise surprise eh?) the peach cardstock is bazzill and the double sided green/cream card base is Neenah papers. this is 5 inches square in real life.
look at the bling on the veins. It really thrills me to add this to things, wish i could catch the lights of it on the full shots of the cards but, I'm not that good at the photos yet..

Color combo challenge Samples

This month i went with Pink and Orange for the 10th color combo challenge in the stamp shack. This flamingo is an PIF image that came to me from StampinginKansas (Thanks Kris!) (SU tickled pink) It's colored with copic markers and prisma pencils. the Orange pp was run through an swiss dots cuttlebug folder, the swirly pp is from Basic Grey. The sentiments from Rubber Soul. ric rac's unknown this is 5X7 in real life.
these were done from a single sheet of the patterned basic grey paper ( 6inch size cut in half) the orange and pink are also basic grey pp from the same pad. the hearts were cut from an cuttlebug die. the sentiments are both from SU, (welcome is from Fancy Flexible Phrases and the baby is from Noteworthy) these are 4 1/2 x 6 inches in real life.
closer look. figured these would work as new baby girl cards.
