Plum Poppies

a closer look. This is an retired PSX poppies stamped with memento on Neenah and colored first with copic markers then over shaded with some prisma pencils for texture. no matter how many times I color poppies I have not achieved that crinkled silk look to the petals yet, but fortunately for me I enjoy coloring them enough to keep trying. haha. hubs actually started me some Poppy seed's as plants that are supposed to become kind of a Mauve color ( someday ) maybe even next year, ( the plants are tiny yet)

I found a cool hat for my gma the other day and I found a box to mail it in that won't crush the brim and then I was like oh yeah you need a card silly. ( doesn't matter what it is my gma loves everything I make her and brags on me to ( everyone who will hold still long enough ) So, this was done very CAS so, I could get it packaged tonight. the mat is the SU not sure what its name is off hand dictionary definition background that was over sprayed with some Adirondack spray, colorshine spray and glimmer mist. ( its very pretty in real life) This is for today's way to use it challenge ( spritz it)  the sentiment's from Great Impressions and its 5X7 in real life. hopefully the hat fits :) tfl.

Unsupervised

A closer look at the coloring, not real thrilled with the skin tones on this one but, she will do. its just one of those thing. when you do it all the time its easier. and I have not colored anyone seriously in what 3 months now? something like that. I know right? I have been messing around with messy things mostly.

at any rate this is Lizzy Laptop from Stamping Bella she is colored with copic markers and gelly roll glaze ( stardust pens) and some wink of stella (which turned out too be too close to the shades of gray on the laptop) The ribbon color is metal green from hugsnug, it was spritzed with some water. The sentiment is from Ranger part of the dylusions line the set name is say it how it is. there are some fun ones on that sheet of random sentiments. this is 6" square in real life.

Some Holly Gift Tags

Well you see its like this, this week is Dina's week to be Queen for the day.
 and I had not made a single thing since the end of DTGD. So, I spent a crazy amount of time poking around in her gallery friday night and saturday afternoon trying to get a glimmer of something to CASE that would not be totally dorky. and I found these ornaments. I love these, I love that they are many layers and thick and so pretty... but, you see I am still just me, and I find I am far Lazier than Dina. So, mine are single layer Tags haha... and I am keeping them in my own stash which ( is not the norm) and may just relieve some of that last minute stress when Christmas gets here.

This is actually the second batch, the first batch is below. There are 15 of them in this group. These were done by die cutting the watercolor paper into the ornament shapes and then staining with some antique linen distress and then the Penny Black winter bough was colored direct to rubber with distress and tombo markers and misted with water before stamping randomly on the tags. these have a tiny amount of Gold stickles that was applied with an Pin from a puddle squirted on a scrap.

These are the first ones, there is 11 in this mug shot. this holly branch is an old one from SU that was stamped with some India Ink black then colored with markers and the white liquid pears were applied with a pin. the cords are hemp string and burlap string on this batch they are slightly more rustic-y than the second batch that got gold and iridescent cords.

Dare to get Dirty {the aftermath}

There are 51 completed projects in these baskets

when the temperatures are so high I am keeping the curtains closed and using all the lights. someone was surprised that there are 3 shining on this table. there is also an ineffective overhead light.

used the flash... the stamps and dies and scraps left out after finishing Lydia's second challenge. after this was shot I ended up poking around in the scraps pile and found this below.

the heart and star were cut earlier in the week and laying with this text pp and I considered using them for one of the other challenges and then discarded it because, it was not exactly what I think she wanted but, I left all this together because, I did like how it looked... and then I had seen the one of the  daily challenges ( either free for all or ways to use it was stripes ) and I remembered this as I was looking at the scraps and thought what the heck. this also fits with Teresa & Lee Ann's challenges so, it also went into the Dirty gallery.

Dare to get Dirty {day 5 continued}

I went through a patch of not being able to upload and I think it is fixed now.. at the time when I was pairing these sentiments with that diecut I had intended to find an "get out of jail free" card to use with them. ( congratulations on your divorce type theme) anyways this one is A-6 in real life.

WOYWW #270 Semper Gumby

Happy Wednesday! if you'd like to play along with this ( we would love to see what you are up to)
you can join the fun starting at Julia's blog here

so, these were shot late on Tuesday night. and all I accomplished besides these mug shots was to stamp an image that needs colored for Anna's challenge today. Yesterday was such a LONG day and I really needed to be stamping and I wanted to be but, my ankles said no. The holy grail this week in my world is that printed out spread sheet on the paper cutter and it informs me I have 8 more challenges to complete ( 4 for today) so, now the stress has started to creep in because, I have to go to work today. I tell hubs all the time, when I grow up I wanna be a "kept woman" and he just grins at me and says how would you pay for all your toys that follow you home? ( good point there)
So, anyways all the blue pens came out for something I did for Christine's challenge monday night I think. the scraps pile has commenced again.

a new silly toy. this is listed as "Semper fi" gumby on a Marine Mom's page but, this one just says "Semper" ( always flexible gumby) I think I am going to look for say Action Figures that may be wearing correct camo clothes I can buy to steal the clothes off of them. ( I really only run paper through my sewing machine haha) and I did have to do a major clean up on last sunday because, the piles were so bad I could no longer function. we are now in the down hill side of Dare To Get Dirty week so, I think I will have more time to visit desks and return comments over the weekend. thanks for visiting.
