So, I happened across a piece of art in this weeks upcoming Inspiration site that I think I can tweak into a wedding card ( or two) and this was as far as I got with the idea of that on Monday afternoon. I guess in the whole time we have had Izzy I have done heat embossing when she was asleep somewhere else or gone off with hubs. So, she really thought this was the end of the world the noise the heat gun makes and why it looked like this Tuesday when I got home. (Pens are out because I used some of those on the one that is also under-construction for a week or two out) that was sitting on the paper trimmer and since its more finished it's probably a good thing its not peeking out.

Izzy is doing fine the no running and no jumping thing lasted until Sunday morning. ( I am rolling my eyes) she is being Izzy and has left the stitches alone so, so far so good. Thanks for stopping by.

Inspired by {flags on a stick}

This week Brenda has chosen Flags on a stick for our Inspiration hunting this weekend.

So, I happened across this happy plaid border or Christmas tree's and I loved that. I did make my colors a little more rustic/country. The trim a tree die is from Taylored Expressions. ( I cut up scraps for this) and the Tag base is a Sizzix die Tags #3. this was cut from some Die Cuts with a view corrugate. The ribbon is a Christmas one I found at Joann's last year or the year before ( they tend to do these country type ones for a few years in a row at our little store here) I did leave off a sentiment as I am not sure who I am going to use this one for yet.
This banner can be found here in their store. and you can find this challenge here at Splitcoaststampers to play along with us. Thanks for stopping by.

So, last year during stamptember I think I did an order every week... and this year I have been watching the items come out and putting them on a wish list, and a few things yes, they did sell out. and then last week the set with co branded set with the leaves came out and I caved...
(Simon Says Stamp haul)
So, right after this was shot, I made this simple card from the inkroad sentiments and the SSS filigree teacup die.
Because, the sentiments made me laugh and coffee cards always go over well at the booth in November. The printed paisley paper is very old from creative imaginations. both the brown cardstocks are textured and the stamped diecut panel is up on foam pop dots over the darker shade.

A closer look, the teacup I am thinking I may try cutting out a solid teacup shape and seeing if any of the other dies I have will cut this as a free standing piece but, for this one I ended up grabbing a MFT stitched square die and saving enough room for the words.

So Tuesday came along and an Amazon order had arrived and its all Sizzix dies.
so, right after this was shot this happened. I had received an answer from Sizzix that they do not sell spare parts for their machines and maybe I could find the part online... ( which made me roll my eyes) so, I am just going to keep using it until it breaks and hubs is going to make a new square for the inside of the crank handle when that happens as the rest of the machine is just fine, its the internal plastic piece that is cracked)

So this happened right after that and is what my desk looks like at the moment. the pieces were cut from watercolor paper and slightly colored with markers and an aqua brush, the sprigs on the paper I added white nuvo drops to the sprouted parts.

Off to the left, this is okay on the farthest left are all the foiled backgrounds I have made so far this last month or so and not done anything with yet, the basket with the sizzix plastic envelopes are holding diecut stamped Christmas/winter sentiments. to the top of that are tags that were die cut from scraps, card stocks and printed papers ( not ready to be used yet) the basket to the right of the sentiments is holding tags that are ready to decorate. ( they are printed papers glued to card stocks and some of them already have ribbons and fibers in the holes) the bread pan to the right of that is holding die cut things, like snowflakes and hearts and things to decorate with.
( sometimes I cut up my scraps when I want to be doing something but, its say too dark to see the colors) So, I cut and bag things for later. like when I get happy mail.

Izzy is almost 6 months old now and very rowdy at 50#'s. She goes into the vets on friday to be spayed. so, the next ten days after that will be a challenge to keep her from running and jumping.

That's about it from me, thanks for stopping by.

Last nights desk, this will be a short and sweet one ( who knew I could be so quiet eh?)
I still get migraines, not like clockwork when I used to take BC pills but, every now and again they kick me. and with the blood thinners, I am allowed Tylenol. not any of the migraine meds I have used in the past. so. the hope is this will pass quickly because, I really do need to pick up this mess I made sunday and get a sample done for the IC this week. ( I am hosting so, it would probably look bad to not have a sample from me haha)
It will be a while before I start poking around, thanks for stopping by.
oh, that mess was tags for the booth in November, some actually got done and are in the post below this one.

Skinny Tags

It probably only looks like a mess but, this pretty much took hours and hours to do... I happened across this bookmark swap shot in her gallery that today's featured stamper Laura had done and it really sparked an idea about doing some skinny tags. So, I started chopping up this tall skinny tag that is in the Sizzix XL Library Pocket from Brenda Walton set from scraps that were in the bread basket on the file cabinet. the ones in the clear bag to the left are just single cut pieces, the tags towards the top of the table are a piece of printed paper on the top layer, a second solid coordinating color of cardstock on the backside and a hole re-inforcer glued together. the sentiments are some longer skinny ones I thought I might use that I started stamping on previously diecut scraps. ( I had in the middle of this session cracked the plastic square inside the crank handle of my big shot pro die cutting machine) and hubs dissected it and told me to order a new crank handle and to use this until I kill it, when it dies he can make me the parts it needs to work if I cannot buy a spare handle. at any rate that kinda made me leery to use it much more after that. (I have an email into Sizzix to find out, they are closed today)

And after that I realized it was nearly 5 PM ( where does the time go?) so, I decided to just shoot what was done at the moment to link it up. most of the skinny sentiments are from a few different Mama Elephant sets. the Merry Christmas to you is from Tim Holtz, The spoil yourself is My Favorite Things, I think that happy birthday just may be from Stampin' Up. one thought I had ( I have made tags like this in the past and tied on jingle bells at the top) was to try doing a bow with the Burlap string and I am not so sure I like that, I just may undo that lone bow. That's about it from me, thanks for stopping by.
