There were sales at both Ellen Hutson and Simon Says Stamp over the Memorial Day weekend so, yes I did cave from both of them. This pile came from EH. and the foam tape really took me by surprise when I opened the box. ( its 1/2" wide, how ever my brain did not think of what 100+ feet would look like lol) 

The Simon haul, that tree is totally Doug's fault. he flashed it way back when so, when it became available to buy here I was like Ooh wow and snatched one up and found the fairy along the way. The embossing folder is hard to see but, its tools.

So, those things had arrived last friday and saturday so, this is my table I put things together on yesterday when I came home from work. I had played with the fairy and the tree on an old Yupo alcohol ink background and ended up having to cover it with embossing powder and the fairy got a little chunky from that maneuver. The other things are things I colored sometime between last Wed and monday thinking I really need to get busy making Fathers day cards. none of these have moved since yesterday so.

Because, when I got to work yesterday I found an email from my insurance agent that he really needed a wedding card for this coming weekend and I started coloring this Stamps Happen hoping it will fit his list of wants. And that's about it from me, stay safe out there & thanks for stopping by.

Inspired by {Sumcoco}

 This week Julie has shared the links to the Sumcoco site and pinterest boards where every prompt I saved was a Christmas one. And I finally decided on this pin as I knew I had this Impression Obsession Simple gifts stamp waiting to be colored. I love that kitchen scene a great deal and it totally makes me wish I had the floor space for something like that display.

The image was stamped on some International Paper Accent Opaque 100# white. (found here) I mainly bought 3 weights of this card for diecutting and have been tinkering around with coloring on it too. I do like the tooth on the Neenah better for coloring but, so far this paper is not bad. it is a little brighter looking to my eye so, I will probably stick with using it for die cutting more than coloring. 

At any rate this was colored lightly with some polychromos pencils and then I added some clear wink of stella over the packages and gift tag. This panel was diecut with a Simon Says Stamp wonky stitched rectangle die. Tied on the sentiment (Unity Stamps twinkling joy set) with some hemp string around the gingham ribbon. and popped in a couple of foam pop dots under the tail end of it.

what it looks like still on Wed am. I really should clean up when I get home today but, Tuesday was a record setting heat day here and today will be more of the same. So, while the mind is willing the body melts. I will say however I am not feeling the heat as badly as when the metal siding was on the back side of the garage so, it is getting better but, we've been distracted by the dragging hoses around to water daily & watching the clock. 

we have zero irrigation water this year from snow pack run offs that would normally be stored in the lake for irrigation purposes. there was just not enough of it added to the previously dry years the ground soaked up a whole bunch of what has dropped this year so, the in ground sprinklers we have here are on 2" lines for using an irrigation pump to push it and there is not enough pressure with you know your household city line to use those sprinklers so. we are dragging hoses. and giving things just minimal amounts of water. 

So monday I had some free time in the afternoon and tried to follow along with last week's watercolor challenge/tutorial ( link goes to SCS where an youtube video is embedded) and I tried the sketching the tulips first and painting them and really that did not go well at all. one has not hit the bin yet and is seen off to the right on the other Misti. So, I finally dug out this old Club Scrap stamp and painted it instead. the stamp has splatters so, I add libbed a few more.

Used those Mungyo paints and the sentiment is from My Favorite Things. The tiny photocorners are die cuts from an old green original Sizzix die. On my desk you can see one of those Misti's has the tulips in it and the other has the sentiment. I really am going to go pick things up now and will peek in later.  Some more eBay loot, these all came from the same seller as they do a flat rate shipping if you buy 5 auctions from them. The snoopy stamps were sealed and on foam blocks which I promptly removed from the foam and tossed the ink pad and then carried everything up the stairs. Opps. I knew how big the outside of the box was so, I was hopeful the stamps would be slightly larger than they are but, they are still cute. Since these two photos were shot I have cleared off the table and mounted all these to cling foam. 

What my desk looked like when I arrived home from work on Tuesday. I had spent some time on Monday embossing new embossing folders and die cutting a few things from scraps and I had intended to come back up after dinner and do a few more but, it never happened. You'll note this newest coffee mug proclaims the most accurate thing about me on a mug I own lol. I have been so hopeful every time they talk about how many people are vaccinated now that travel would start up again but, along with those stories they are also showing people going flippin crazy on the planes and attacking each other (over mask wearing of course) and the people working on them. So, at this point I have not made any plans to travel although I would seriously love to go and see family you know? The hanging in there part is getting to me, I think I am going to stop watching the news. and I am OK with that plan but, hubs keeps turning it on.  Happy Wednesday people & stay safe out there.

Leafy Tags Inspired By {Elle Decor}

 This week found us looking at the Elle Decor pinterest boards and I came across this shot of greenery tied on packages which I loved. And I fully intended to do layers of papers on my tags to make them look more tied together but, life happened and they ended up looking a little CAS once finished. I did hear from the lady who organizes the Craft bazaar I do in November at the school and they are very hopeful it will hold this coming fall as restrictions continue to be lifted. So, I did tell her I intended to hold mine and would get busy making things.

The kraft tags are size 8 ones from Ranger. there is a bit of Hemp string tied on and the sentiments are both from Impression Obsession with Versafine Clair Pinecone ink. That's about it from me, thanks for stopping by.

Tuesday after work views. The piece I chose for the IC sample I have yet to make involves leaves, so I was practicing some. ( they are in the a little too big stage at the moment, so trying different brushes too on scraps. Might try smaller brushes today after work. last night in the kitchen I tried the smallest Mop brush I have and that really holds a lot of water, and so far is fun to use for making swirled petals type shapes.

The wooden die shelves (stamp n storage die desk die shelves) ( the unfinished wood ones next to the window) arrived on Monday night, so far so good. ( this is two desk units stacked) I have not made a decision yet if I should paint them and or have hubs do some bracket type thing between them so that they stay together. These are about 1 inch off the edge of the file cabinet because, I am thinking its not a great idea to shove the green one up against the roof on the other side. With only 3 dies in each shelf it is much easier to get the one you want to use out than shifting all the piles. I probably could move some of the yellow and green dies to it, but the chances of me buying a few more dies is probably on the sooner or later list so, I think I will leave the space in it for now. ( the smaller original thickness dies are all in the top drawer of that baby dresser I shoot on under the window)

It will probably look more like this is reality under the towels and table cloths ( dust catchers) I can still see the words on the ends of the dies and slide them out around the paints and sprays and scraps ( whats in the old sewing drawers.) I think that is why I have not decided to paint them as of yet as I never got around to painting those sewing drawers either. ( they did spend some time in a sand blaster at work to remove a lot of layers of paint out of the crevices when I rescued them from a yard sale. (the fourth is in the closet with something else ( forgot what ) in it. 

In Other news, they started lifting mask mandates here if you are fully vaccinated for say shopping indoors but, so far I have not been anywhere to see if it is working and or how. I probably will keep mine on for a while longer as I really think people have a better chance of catching junk at the store than anywhere else.
