altered paperclip tin

an before shot of an empty paperclip tin. that i chose to alter for an SS Mardi Gras swap because it was already painted gold... (Paint takes forever to dry in December) ;)
after. the requirement was to use the Mardi Gras Colors in any shades of green, gold and Purple that you wanted to...
So this is some shimmery lavender PP i picked up in a scrapbook store in MN years and years ago... the top piece was die cut with an nestibilities die and the side piece is just one inch wide and was run through an Xyron Machine. the top is Prima Flowers.
a Peek inside, my secret jester's favorite color is Blue... so this is just a fun little blue trinket valued Ring i found at Michael's last week...

a few from this afternoon

this is an Elisabeth Bell designed image called Melinda blowing Kisses (don't ask me which co. she made this one for could be sugar nellies, or whiff of joy or something else) anyways its an WRAK image that came to me from Heavensent (thanks so much Collette!!)She's colored with prisma pencils with some tattered rose distress ink colordusted along the edges and then die cut with the curvy rectangle dies. the brown and floral pp's are from Basic Grey the cardbase is opal stardream (shimmery cardstock)used an SU slot punch for the hole for The ribbons (which is unknown) and the pink heart Mini brad is from MM. The sentiments from SU and was colored with an tombo marker. this one is 4 1/2 X6 in real life.

The trip to Portland and back for the 15 minute chat with the surgeon was as usual LONG. lol we left at 6 am and arrived home about 6 pm Saturday evening, then had to go round up the dogs and kid so lots of driving. feel ready to hit the hay already.
the gist of it at the moment is the surgeon agrees with the audiologist that the surgery will be a benefit for me, the risk for having the second implant is in some adults inserting a second one makes them dizzy... (well the Wii fit already asks me if i trip when i walk...) So, the benefits to me seem to out weigh that one risk so tomorrow i will contact the lady who is the keeper of the surgeon's schedule and pick a day from his openings... ( he thinks he has some two, three and four weeks away) So i will know more in a day or two i guess. The thing of it is even though its winter and the roads can go to yuck at any time I want to just get it over with and be on the re-learning sounds on the other side part of the equation and not the anticipating the surgery and recovery from that part so will probably pick the soon as possible date and get it over with...

I intended to have many more simple (kid) Valentines cards done for that gal whose collecting them for kids in the hospital but, i have probably started too late and may only be sending a few...
we started gutting our Laundry room last weekend. YAY! ( an 13 X 13 laundry room in an 1100 sq house is kinda dumb) so, its going to become smaller (laundry room size) and when we get to our room it will gain a few feet. :)
so, the cards will probably be coming in few and far between for the next little while...

I really did find this humorous, then thought they would have to write happy birthday you party animal or something along those lines on the inside to make it a birthday card so i never uploaded it before the deadline. Its still in my box but, it will just have to be a humorous card. the Olive a Party mice were colored with prisma pencils. this is 5X7 in real life. and thanks for this challenge to Tackertwosome! :)
The birthday for a mom card challenge needed the color combo of teal a certain purple and a certain yellow (from su) and had to be an image your mother would enjoy...
lol this would crack up my mom... (and have you let your mil drive you somewhere lately?!?!) ;)
I had to guess on the colors ( I don't have the teal or the purple and i decided to match the yellow cardbase to the yellow undertones in the teal pp) this was fun. don't remember this images name but, think its from Gina K is best guess. thanks for looking and thanks for this challenge Janet! This was supposed to be intended for a boys birthday, not sure i am happy with it and will work on another one. this brad is from SU and came to me in my WRAK ss package from ArtsyLori this year, it kind of looked like a snowflake to me, the sentiments from the Gina K. Make a wish set. tfl! and thanks to Kathy for this Challenge.
I have been hoarding this whippersnapper image for a long time because it came in one of those assortment packs of wishes and i only have one of it... and then i nearly ruined it when i had it layered to another yellow mat i cut the mat so badly crooked that when i tried to remove the mouse and put it on a new mat i tore away the back of the cardstock and it became see-thru so, it had to get cut out.. dotted organdy is unknown, as is the yellow pp scrap. the blue textured cardstock is bazzill, the sentiments been cut out with petite oval nestibilitie dies and is up on pop dots. this is 4 1/2 X6 inches in real life. tfl and thanks for this challenge Sandy!

( I pulled the wires out of it) The main image is cut out with petite ovals nestability dies and up on pop dots. the sentiments from the Gina K Make a wish set. this is 6 inches square in real life. tfl & Thanks for this Challenge Alison!
This was my "April fools" tech needed card for Patty's challenge. i was going for an crackled glass look over the trumpet vine. (and i ended up adding more glue to the top after the first cracking because it just didn't look right to me) so this one took forever to dry...its 5X7 in real life. the trumpet vine was stamped twice with India Ink Black, the first was on GP110 where i colored just the blooms and cut them out, then layered them (paper pieced) to the hammermill110 layer. then the cracked glass is just dried Diamond Glaze glue. sentiments from SU. tfl. and thanks for this challenge Patty!
crop view of the "cracked glass"
This one is for the Easter for a Child Challenge. now, i don't have much in the way of for kids style but i have received this bunny from several ladies in wishrak and i happened to have one colored... the sentiments from Stampa Rosa, the Mulberry papers unknown. there is a bit of stickles on the scallops of the diecut mat. tfl and thanks for this Challenge Pia!
This one is for the Thinking of you and use your favorite "thing" you have received from wishrak challenge card...I have to admit that when you get past the friendships i have been making with ladies playing in wish rak my most favorite thing after that is my collection of house mouse images i have (hoarded) so, here is one of the newest favorites from my stash, that ribbon was also raked to me inside my birthday card this year from mountainmom. Thanks for this Challenge Debi!
All of the Wishrak challenge's always start with an Featured stamper, and you case one of their cards from their gallery (changing 2 things on your own card)
I chose this card of Cork1035'shttp://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/925077?cat=500&ppuser=447first because the color caught my attention and then because i really liked the design. then i knew i had to change some things so then i was opening yesterdays mail i found this image from Sparkplug17 and thought ohhh you could make this work for FS card... and so here it is, the other change i made is i did not have green tone on tone pp so i ran a piece of mellow moss through a swiss dots folder for a dotted mat look. this is 4 1/2 X6 inches in real life. tfl! And thanks for this Challenge Audrey.
This was done for an "just because" challenge that needed to be winter themed or contain snow images... This snow crystals image is from Penny Black and stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia on Soft sky cs. then cut out with friskars mini pinking shears deco scissors, then matted with some textured brown bazzill. the Just Because is stamped same ink on slightly darker cardstock. (maybe blue bayou not sure now) this is 6 Inches square in real life and has some stickles glitter glue on points of the snowflakes. tfl. and Thanks Misti for this challenge.
I get when there are so many of them to do i start to mix them up in my mind... this was intended to be for the get well patriotic challenge hosted by Purpleflowers and i messed it up at the end by making it a thank-you card... *sigh* such is life, it will go into the box but, not going to add a keyword to this one either... :) tfl. I (think) this Eagle came to me from 1oftheLuvs, (Thanks Ellen!)
